NFT: TV Service Thread

I know there was just a thread on here the other day talking about the differences between FiOS, Optimum, etc. I just talked to FiOS tonight. Basically, for what we wanted it would have cost us $170 per month. That is crazy to me. I asked about the internet in my area and they said that it would be $34.99 a month if I have my own router.

I then called up the DISH. I get about 240 channels, free HD for life, four receivers one of which is the Hopper, red zone for 12 months, the movie channels for 3 months, and some other stuff all for $88.99 a month for 2 years. After the 2 years it jumps up to about $110.99 a month. So, if I add the $88.99 and the $34.99 then it only comes to $123.98. I don't think taxes are added in to that price so it may jump up another $10-$15 a month.

I just thought some of you would like to know that. I would have loved to get FiOS since I do love the service but I just can't see paying close to $40 extra a month for a similar deal but not as good as a dvr.

I understand why so many people are cutting the cord now.
