We may regret this move. Randle has had that lingering knee issue and his replacement is a rookie out of UConn. Nothing against Davis, but I'd rather have Jones out there if one of our key guys goes down. At least for this year.
He outplayed several guys he was cut in favor of while here

If I thought we were going to the SB, I'd feel that way too. As it is, I'd rather see Davis get some playing time than have it go to a stopgap vet
He could've been the #4 WR here. Hell, he should've been over Parker.
Completely agree. Not sure why they are so high on Parker. He drops a significant share of passes (even in training camp per Ranaan). It's not like he is Devin Hester or something on special teams. There's a reason the Packers went right after him, because he is a valuable backup that can start if needed due to injuries. Does anyone here feel comfortable with Geremy Davis or Preston Parker starting if Randle, Cruz, or Beckham get hurt? I don't.

Parker is the guy behind Cruz. Jones is strictly a wideout I believe. Could play behind Randle, but dosen't play the same position as Cruz/Parker. And doesn't play specials.
Should have been an easy future considerations trade to GB all we had to do was open the trade talks. Start with a roster timeframe then production and both teams win but for some reason this was not an option for the Giants.
Nelson gone for the year and Cobb has a bad shoulder. Everyone else they have is green as grass. They are desperate and willing to look at an old slow wideout who once played for them.

He was released by the Raiders in May after averaging less than 10 yards per reception last year and didn't sign with another team until the Giants needed bodies at the position for training camp. He wasn't even on the Packers radar until after Jordy Nelson went down for the count.
He seemed like a mature, honest, well-grounded guy in the limited time he was here (so I'm happy for him that he was given another chance by the Packers), but this is what they were saying about him when the Raiders let him go...
Quote:
31 years old, Jones led Oakland in receptions (73) last season, but averaged a pathetic 9.12 yards per catch. He was a sub-pedestrian slot receiver and has never been an efficient separator on the perimeter. We wouldn't be completely shocked if Jones has played his last NFL down.

When he makes the TD catch that puts the Packers in the Super Bowl, I'll remember that. The guy makes catches.

If he does, God bless him. I'm not rooting against the guy (in the limited interviews I read, he struck me as a high character guy who gets it). It's just that when it comes to reading the tea leaves, I go by the motto of "money talks and bullshit walks" and there is a reason why he spent the months of May and June without a team before signing for the league minimum.
If his old team hadn't lost Jordy Nelson for the year, Jones would likely be facing retirement (or a year of sitting on the couch waiting for the phone to ring, much like Chase Blackburn in 2011, before making the game-saving INT in the Super Bowl!)....
Value wasn't there.
He may be #4 WR in Green Bay.
I'm sure Macadoo had his input. If he felt strongly about him...

He's never had 1000 in his career. Not gonna start now at 32.

Parker might have a role on our coverage teams.
