I was walking and found a parking spot to move to for alternate side parking. I quickly got in the car and moved the car 15 feet.
After I was parked, a guy pulled up and started cursing me out for stealing his spot. He was behind two cars when I pulled out of the original parking spot.
I'm 100% sure I have a right to the parking spot but I have a feeling he may come back to scratch my car. He certainly looks like an asshole that would do it. What should I do?
He drove away and parked but I saw him coming back and checking to see if I was still there.
I couldn't find it. It was such a common color that I saw three similar cars just walking a block back home.
I'm 27; live in NYC and paid for this CPO car with cash that I saved my entire life for. Am I not allowed to be concerned?
IMO, the best course of action sucks. It's better sometimes to just move your car even if you are 100% in the right. Finding your car keyed is far worse than having a professional asshole (and there are a lot of them) damage your car.
Note: when I was about 18-19 many years back, I parked my car at a mall several hundred feet from other cars to go to work. Came out at lunch time to find my car keyed. Who? Why? It was a well kept, washed and waxed car w/nice paint job. Had to figure it was a jealous prick.
Probably right. In 6 months, I'll post a pic up for BBI's entertainment.
And for those who were inconvenienced by reading this thread...tis life. Go take a walk.
You're probably right on both ends but better to be safe than sorry. I saw a girl post on Facebook practically crying when someone deliberately scratched her car. There was nothing she could do.

That sounds about right. I mean...I can't let BBI down can I?
This. Be a man. A man has a god given right to protect his car from a possible keying. Carriage Doctrine.
do nothing, and cry about it here
call your insurance company.
if scratch is not bad go to autozone and get stuff to buff polish it out.

Or move the car down a block like I did already?

Since I moved the car, I can laugh now about how silly this thread has gone.
You hate freedom.
