still rooting for him. Win the next 2 games and we are in position to make some noise in our division and would need him and every other body we can get.
He's really giving the middle finger to the folks who said he wouldn't be fired up to play again. When he's blowing up ball carriers and exploding into QBs again he can thumb his nose at the haters. I think he'd rather be skinned alive then never be able to fire off the ball again. Once that fuse is lit it's pretty hard to extinguish it.

there's nothing to worry about. If we don't think he can play we won't sign him. Not sure why people are worried about it.
^This. Although I assume that if there's a disagreement between him and the Giants about whether he can pass a physical, that he could file a grievance agains the team.

Yes he could. But since he was required to "maintain his physical condition" it would be pretty tough for him to win in arbitration
I'm not worried about that at all. I'm merely saying that I think that is the strategy. He will say his doctors say he is ready...the Giants will say no...he'll take it to the union.
but I still believe in the long run the hand will not be that big an issue. Whether he was good enough before the injury is still a matter for debate, but I think he'll pretty much return to that form. JMHO

Dunno. I think the Giants would actually like JPP to play this year. It's clear he would like to play.
Then again I've always thought the sides may be closer to pulling in the same direction than you have.
As most have predicted this is going to a league grievance eventually

I've always said that I don't think the side are as advisarial as everyone else thinks. We are in agreement there.
My only point is that even if it is advisarial, JPP doesn't have much of a case to make.
bad 8.5 fingers might help us out. I doubt he gets double teamed in his first game so lets see what he can do 1 on 1 or if he does draw a double team then that's a win too.

JPP thing the whole season. Just a distraction that creates a media circus every month or so. We do not need it, but him and the Agent are doing what they must.
next week, two weeks, or two months. He's not playing this year and who knows or cares when/if he plays again. Keep banking that money and make a run for Mo Wilkinson. Who wants a guy with half of a hand?

He has played this the wrong way if he wants to pursue this leagaly. as long as they don't pull the tender the giants have done nothing to stop him from being paid He has no case.
Had he signed been placed on nfi for 6 weeks and they were choosing not to activate him to avoid paying him he could make a case but that ship has sailed.
if the Giants didn't believe he'd play this season
they'd have rescinded the tag. He makes the same money per game so there is nothing about timing here. If Giants release him (rescind the tag) there is no basis for any lawsuit, so the notion that this is a ploy to create a lawsuit is bullshit.

Pfffft. This is posturing to protect his ability to earn on THIS tender deal. It's simple business. It's not rocket science. His camp is positioning itself to deploy a grievance pitting JPPs quack against the Giants docs.
He's nowhere NEAR ready to play. But he's ready to get paid just by showing up. He wants free money while he heals for the next dupe. He's not throwing on pads this year. No fuckin way.
And some of you are falling for it. Grow up. Trix are for kids.
RE: can he please just report at the last possible week...
that the truth is somewhere in all those conflicting reports, but I'm also not sure anyone knows which one it is.
I have no idea about his capabilities, no idea about the legalities.
My personal thought is that I'd rather have 15 million in cap than JPP. That could mean four or even five very good free agents.
I also know that I don't have anything but a fan's idea, so I think it's best to let the pros hammer this out and I'll save my comments for Quantum physics where I know about as much as I know here.
since his last visit that he was coming back about this time for another evaluation.
gasp, how devious of him to heal more, then come back to see if he's good to go.
yes, he wants a pay day. that's why he's not going to sign until he's close enough to have a solid chance in court. if he's not close, the Giants either yank the tender, or put him on NFI, and he doesn't get paid at all. If, in two weeks, he's close, it means he'll be on the field by the end of the year and the Giants are likely to pay him. there are reasons to not want that, such as the cost not being worth the diminished ability, but neither side will take any action until he is close to being on the field.
what kind of bullshit pansy fucking comment is that. We should be 3-0 and we are in a winnable division. Brighter future due to some excess cap dollars? we are in good shape under the cap and whos to say we sign a great player with the few excess bucks we would have next year by jpp coming back later. We have plenty of cap space for next season. we are 1-2 and you have already given up? This franchise in last 30 years has made 5 superbowls winning 4. How about some ..some optimism..at least for the next few weeks. Jeesh man.
cruz and ayers this week will hurt us. I know every team has injuries I just wonder if they are prolific and as bountiful as ours seem to be. We are in the position of needing moore, the ucla rook, wynn and selvie to contain and put pressure on taylor. its time for moore to have his breakthrough game on his way to a good career..or not.
2 weeks until JPP returns - ( New Window )
How long have you waited to use that? :)

Not long enough.
So you don't want to try and win games in a shit division?

so we can collect the most $ for the future as possible? please?

i can't imagine him doing much, no matter how bad this division gets. I'd like to have a better future than a few games because jpp came back.
LOL......bravo, well done!
Dynamite post
Wow, way to put him on blast.

"I'm here. Pay me."

In NYC at Jay Fund Gala. Just asked Tom Coughlin about JPP report: "I haven't heard anything about that." #Giants
Are you really worried about big bad JPP taking down the poor naive ny Giants in an court/arbitration case?
Dunno. I think the Giants would actually like JPP to play this year. It's clear he would like to play.

Gotta hand it to you, this post blew my mind.

Since this is a non football injury, it is 100% the GMENs decision of when he can come back.

Again, really unfortunate series of events.
