with the "resting" guys. Hitters need to play regularly. They were getting plenty of rest with all the platoons Terry runs. It was a classic example of fixing something that was not broken.
But I think they will kick into gear in the playoffs.
It has nothing to do with it. Flores and Tejada were making the roster either way. With Flores banged up and battling Strep, Tejada is likely the starter with Flores still getting a start or two.
Our "speed guy" if we have the luxury will be Kirk. He is fast and adds a whole lot more to the table than EYJ.
I'm sorry but are you kidding me with Tejada's effort on that play? It would have been a good play for sure...but that was awful by Tejada. He OVERRAN the ball and it hit him the f'n leg. If he's the "defensive replacement" for SS then that's a huge problem. He's not even the best defensive SS on the team.
So Kirk makes it unless Uribe is suddenly healthier by Tuesday. If Matz can't go, Colon slides into his spot in the rotation and Gilmartin likely takes his spot.
I've been off the grid for the past few days and haven't kept up on the Matz situation. Has the Matz "injury" kept in line with all of the other Mets player injuries the gypsies in the FO have fed us fans?
Stiff back from sleeping on a couch - "we'll only skip next start as precaution" - then "he's fine, he'll pitch out of the pen over the weekend" - and now he's uncertain for the NLDS?

Does that sound about right?
Yes. I'm surprised he hasn't seen David Wright's orthopedic surgeons
The plan is for him to pitch in a simulated game in St. Lucie on Wednesday but this all might be moot anyway. The Mets are strongly considering a 3 man rotation, especially if we are down in the series heading into game 4.

yes 90 Wins is a successful season in my books.
I wonder if it has to do with Wilmer Flores' back being iffy

My mistake. Familia does TIE Benitez for the most single season saves in Mets history. Kudos
