Those last 3 offensive plays piss me off....

dep026 : 10/4/2015 4:22 pm
Jennings runs out of bounds.
Beckham has a ball go out of his hands.
Eli throws a stupid slant.

Not one play runs the clock down when a FG gives us a 17 point lead. I am not one to blame coaches or players. But that shit has to stop. There's a lot of stupidity by EVERYONE. Coaches, quarterback, running backs, WRs. Its absolute madness.

TexasGmenFan : 10/4/2015 4:28 pm : link
W is nice but its inexcusable that with goal to go and +14 with that time left, the sequence isn't runx3 and a FG to make it 3 possessions and burn the clock.

this team has shown a complete inability to understand how to control the clock thus far.

2-2 is nice...but still room to improve.
Can't say I disagree.
Gene : 10/4/2015 4:28 pm : link
IMHO, in that situation the kill shot was the short FG.

Run 3 plays up the middle and eat the clock. Short FG puts Buffalo down 3 scores with about 3 minutes left in the game.

Even if the Bills call TO, then they're down 3 scores with about 4 minutes to go with no time outs.

Jennings has to be intelligent enough to stay in bounds,
shockeyisthebest8056 : 10/4/2015 4:29 pm : link
but most importantly, the 3rd down play ABSOLUTELY POSITIVELY MUST BE A FUCKING RUNNING PLAY!

Odell needs to hold onto that ball... I think he just dropped it.

McAdoo have Eli on his fantasy team. Jennings was an idiot to run out. Two pass plays was just out of the world stupid.

The Giants have a very easy schedule coming up but they should be 3-1 at worst and even 4-0 if not due to bad clock clock management/play calling.

Those who focus on the win fine. Start your own thread. This is a very reasonable and understandable topic.

Someone did something incredibly stupid. No way should we pass there. Game is over. Just kick the fucking field goal.
I couldn't believe that sequence either,
barens : 10/4/2015 4:40 pm : link
the funny thing about it, is the interception wasn't even the worst of it. They took no time off the clock down there, which is I just could believe. That's how you keep your players on the field longer, which leads to more injuries.
Coughlin is losing his mind or lot it
Giants2012 : 10/4/2015 4:50 pm : link

What does this have to do with Coughlin?
Matt M. : 10/4/2015 4:55 pm : link
McAdoo calls the offense. That is his doing and he hasn't learned a damn thing. The run out of bounds was not wise, I don't understand 2 throws after that. The slant was a bad call, but that INT was 100% on Eli.

So the HC can't say:"OK fellas, let's just run it 3 times and be aware of not getting stripped."? Is he in charge or not?
agreed^^

But completely agree. I guess we learned nothing from the Dallas game. I don't want to hear about continuing to be aggressive. That series should have been a no-brainer. Run it three times (and stay inbounds) and kick a chip shot FG. Game over.

Beckham should have caught that ball. An easy one for him. And if he does catch it nobody here would be saying jackshit about the play call.

Comments here apply:

Did TC forget how to count?
If he going senile?
Can you imagine if that TD was not called back near the 2 minute warning.........An onside kick and watch out..........

McAdoo is responsible for all the play calling. Quinn is responsible for everything STs. Spags is solely in charge of defense. Eli is in charge of time management and knowing the rules. Reese is responsible for every single roster move. The players in general are responsible to police their own leadership-y stuff.

I'm not really sure what TC's actual role and responsibilities are for many on BBI, but god damn it, he's great at it.
I am fine with being aggressive.
AnishPatel : 10/4/2015 5:34 pm : link
They went for the kill shot and missed. They ran a high percentage play, and the CB made a good play on the ball. He reached the land mark before RR did.

I don't mind being aggressive up 17 to try to make it 24 points.
Play call was fine
Ten Ton Hammer : 10/4/2015 5:44 pm : link
Looked just like the Super Bowl sealing INT by the pats.

Just a great play by the defender, and a poor play by Randle. Kinda finessed it when he should have boxed out.
If they're throwing to ODB, I'm fine with that.
shockeyisthebest8056 : 10/4/2015 5:47 pm : link
However, they took their shot and they missed it. Needed to run the ball on 3rd down. Anything else was just stupid and reckless.
I don't know that it was stupid.
Ten Ton Hammer : 10/4/2015 5:52 pm : link
If you don't have a QB, then yes. We have one. If you don't trust him to make a throw in the redzone then how good is he.

That's the problem. They weren't up 17. They were up 14. Huge difference in that scenario.
As bad as you could ever imagine
bluetothegrave : 10/4/2015 5:57 pm : link
Maybe tc is senile. 3 mins left in game up 14 2 nd n goal ftom the 8. You run it twice and either score, make them use some timeouts. Or run clock. If you don't get in you kick the chip shot fg and win the game. But what did macadoo, coughlin n Eli do? The passed not once which is bad enough but twice. Picked off and bills had a chance to win the game.i want someone ripped a new one. Eli should be treated like the guy from clockwork orange and be made to watch the end of the cowboy game 10000 times. Absolutely abyssmal. Mind numbing play calls. No excuse. Eli mainly to blame but Mara should have a meeting ripping... Ripping coughlin manning n macadoo a new one. Absolutely inexcusable
It's not about trusting the players or not
Scuzzlebutt : 10/4/2015 5:58 pm : link
You are up 14 and 3 pts basically seals the victory. 7 doesn't do a whole lot more than 3 so why not just run clock and kick an easy FG? Not a lot to gain by being aggressive in that situation... But plenty to lose.
The O play calls
old man : 10/4/2015 6:01 pm : link
the last 5:50 were odd to say the least. Passing on 1st down, run on second, not trying to kill the clock. Especially those last 3 O plays as described.
.
Danny Kanell : 10/4/2015 6:05 pm : link
Managing the clock, understanding proper late game situations, adjusting your attack to the situation, etc. All of these are crucial factors in the NFL, especially when the difference between winning and losing is razor thin these days.

We have failed in virtually every big spot in these areas all year. It's already cost us 1 game. Arguably 2. And could have cost us today.

I'm losing faith in this staff every week. These are inexcusable errors.
You have to figure,
Doomster : 10/4/2015 9:42 pm : link
by the fourth game, the clock mismanagement of the first 3 games should be fixed....yet, it reared it's ugly head at the end of the game again....stupid block by Incognito, could have cost his team, the game.....if they ran the time off the clock correctly, the Incognito play never happens...

They tried to be aggressive running a high percentage passing concept, a slant. Credit the defender for hitting the landmark before RR got there.

Danny Kanell : 10/5/2015 9:32 am : link
That's not the point. A TD or a FG is not really any different in that spot. With 4 minutes left, a FG or a TD makes it a 3 possession game. The only way you can lose either way is if they score 3 times with 2 successful onside kicks! Not to mention running 3 times runs the clock down and/or makes them burn time outs.

There was literally ZERO reason to be aggressive there. It's not about a high percentage pass play. They passed TWICE!
DK on the money
Jimmy Googs : 10/5/2015 9:59 am : link
Throwing on any down there is just madness unless RR or OBJ are literally UNCOVERED.

3 runs up the middle, kick the FG, and go up 3 scores. Game over.

Said this on another thread, but if Buffalo took that pick to the house Coughlin & McAdoo need to be suspended.

We won, but that is an example of "what not to do".
