Those last 3 offensive plays piss me off....

dep026 : 10/4/2015 4:22 pm
Jennings runs out of bounds.
Beckham has a ball go out of his hands.
Eli throws a stupid slant.

Not one play runs the clock down when a FG gives us a 17 point lead. I am not one to blame coaches or players. But that shit has to stop. There's a lot of stupidity by EVERYONE. Coaches, quarterback, running backs, WRs. Its absolute madness.

there needs to be one of those embarrassing meetings that happen when adults do something really stupid. Where the entire coaching staff, including Tom Coughlin, sits in a stuffy little room and listens to a presentation about why clock management is important, and how to bleed clock in the 4th quarter.

Cater it. Nothing threatening.
Given our inability to close games has cost us two losses...

...you'd think the coaches would be doing a better job calling plays and preparing the team about how to succeed in these scenarios. Run on first down and STAY IN BOUNDS. pass on second down low risk to attempt to gain the first down. Run again onn third down. Even if the second down pass in an INC we would have taken significantly more time off the clock. We were stupid with the ball yet again in the closing minutes of the game.
I am not dwelling on it personally

but not understanding how anyone can really defend it.

This is not a general "be aggressive" versus "kneel on the ball" debate. As others have said, considering the score and the time left, there was ZERO reason to run the sequence we did, specifically on 3rd down.

The only play that makes sense is to run it, running the time down further, and kick the FG if you don't convert.

If the Giants score a TD there, would you still complain about the call?

Actually, I would.

I would have said they are playing with fire there, totally unnecessary.

Then cracked open a beer.

But for those saying it was the right call, just not right execution is the ONE reason when you practically have the game clinched you don't do this. Shit happens.
The Head Coach runs the game
arniefez : 10/5/2015 4:08 pm : link
that's his job. What's going on at the end of games is embarrassing and concerning. It needs to get fixed immediately. It is 100% on the Head Coach no one else. But if you're looking at the OC as the head coach in waiting that's scary because he has no clue what he's doing in the last 4 minutes.
LG it's easy to understand
arniefez : 10/5/2015 4:11 pm : link
there is a large segment of people that will defend anything and anyone in authority with the Giants (except Jerry Reese) no matter what they do especially the Head Coach.
Folks might as well stop complaining

TC defended the decision to throw. If he had to do it again, he would do it again. There's nothing to "fix."

And therein lies the problem.

And all future opponents say thank you.
Anything other than 3 runs there is

Idiocy that belies a complete lack of understanding of the clock and the scoreboard.

Kicking the field goal on 1st down was a better course of action than throwing it.
Very stupid.
arcarsenal : 10/5/2015 8:23 pm : link
The main objective of that drive had to be to make it a 3 possession game and the second had to be to waste some clock. We accomplished neither.

Baffling how, as a fan, you can sit here and know those things and yet somehow the guys on the sideline seem not to. It's alarming and it's becoming a much too familiar theme in all of these games.

It's got to get fixed. Because it's going to happen in a bigger spot later in the season and potentially ruin everything.

Absolutely with you. And regardless, I'm not one of the people out to get rid of anyone. To me, this is just one of those things they for whatever reason they don't see as a weakness

IMO after the SB everyone has to be on the same page. Not even debating the correct strategy with that statement, just proper preparation. The fact that the QB/RB isn't sure, coaching playcall is iffy and we find ourselves in the same situations today and have lost some games in part because of it, I guess it is what it is. Love TC, but when he got here they touted his clock mgmt. Yet to me it always played out as a weakness on the field W or L. We should have learned after the SB if not 4 yrs later, simply happens too often
