Just for fun.
Is there something to the idea that chaos and pressure brings out the best of both of them? I think by now, most of us who are realistic, realize everything these guys bring to the table day in and day out. But what is it about the two of them that seems to better once they are placed in the pressure cooker.
Obviously it remains to be seen what happens this season but here we go again in an 0-2 hole, everyone on notice, Coughlin can't survive this time, etc. As of this morning, we find ourselves with every opportunity to take this division and get in the tournament and if we do it would be so similar to the storylines of 2007 when TC was left for dead and 2011 bouncing back from the late season failures against Philly/GB in 2010.
Coughlin has his faults as a head coach. At different times he has seemed unreasonably strict, he has had his share of game management blunders (hands team Philly 2010), trouble selecting coordinators and a couple of other gaffes early this season. But back him into a corner and the man is like a cage fighter. His teams seem to feed off of his toughness and resolve. Just when you doubt his teams. Watch out.
Eli, same thing. We've seen him play some of his worst football in quarters 1-3 only to come back brilliantly in the 4th quarter. We've also seen probably his best overall play in the playoffs, on the road, in big games, in the elements and of course in the Super Bowls.
I find it interesting. The more doubt that surrounds the TC/Eli teams, the better they operate. Chaos, underdogs, pressure, they seem to embrace it.
Giants win or lose to the Patriots in the regular season, 2007 and 2011.
Cruz for 99 yards!
No one has their Super Bowl reservations booked yet.
Relax.
Next one:
Last time people told us not to compare this season to 2007: 2011.
5-3 at the half way point.
Also keep in mind that in 2011 Cruz was still becoming "Cruz". Before the Philly game we were all still wondering who could replace Smith in the slot.
I guess the point is, from here on out is an open book. That pass rusher that you are claiming we don't have just might be on this roster in the form of Moore, OO or Kennard.
Time will tell.
The similarity is Osi and Tuck then. Osi was on all three teams. We make a trade for Tuck and it's all set.
On Specials' Cover Teams he seems to have found a nice role as I consistently see him at the ball.
But not feelin' the love yet on Defense.

Who said rock star? It's starting to show his potential. That's all

a Giant takes a short pass, slips a tackle, and scores a monumental touchdown that breaks a Rex Ryan team.
Good times.
