I love the Big Lebowski references (I'm an Achiever, I've watched it at least 50 times, and I'm wearing a Big Lewbowski t-shirt as I type this) as well as your breakdown of the run defense.
Love the "Iron Balls McGinty" reference to Ereck Flowers...after reading that I pictured Navin Johnson side-kicking him with that metalic 'thunk' like he hit an anvil with a hammer, LOL. Great insight and work!
But I don't think the game deserved that many superlatives. Stay grounded.
Both total yards and yards per play were essentially equal, 303 and 4.7 for the Giants, and 313 and 4.6 for the Bills. Claim its due to garbage time stats, sure, but the reason it got to that was horrific penalties by an undisciplined Bills team, and winning the turnover game. The Bills are good team, and it was a great win, but we didn't dominate anymore than the Bills gave it to us.
Great job Joey. Always informative and I start my day off with Â
Rex is a dooshbag. The people who think he is a great coach are bigger dooshbags. The owners who paid him millions to save their franchise after his reign of error with the Jets are the biggest dooshbags.
"This team, no matter who is in or what formation they are in, flies to the ball on every single snap. That’s a sign of a team that believes in itself and its coordinator."
It's their greatest asset. We lack a pass rushing threat and true FS. We're compensating with a stubborn presence at and around the LOS that is the hallmark of a hard nosed club.
and spot on Hosley the ST guy vs. Hosley the corner. Whether it's extending his arm to grab/slow the WR--and make it obvious to the official--or running with his back to the ball and waving his arms in the face of the receiver, he is just not a smart, or perhaps, coachable DB. Granted, there were plays Sunday night that the officials let go that were called down the sideline on JH.
The screen-by-screen sequence on Williams' cut back was excellent, thanks.
BUT, "... it was Eli’s ability to get his team lined up quickly and use as much of the play clock as he could to get the Bills to show their hand up frontthat made the difference for this team offensively." That's a joke, right? Because that's not what I saw in Q4: nursing a lead and trying to limit the amount of time the Bills would have on offense, Eli (confounding his DOG penalties and fumbled snap when the clock had run down) routinely called for the snap with 10 and 12 seconds remaining with the clock running...plain confounding.
... seems so long ago. I think we were complaining about how badly the Giants were losing games. Some of the contests were not even competitive; terrible really.
So far this year the Giants have put up a pretty good fight in each game, ending with a 2-2 record for the quarter. This time around Spags seems to have a better idea of how to teach a team a new defense. I wasn't expecting the defense to pick things up so quickly. Good job, Spags.
abused the secondary like Jason Witten does! Let's hope Vernon Davis doesn't play on Sunday! Eli had two delay of game penalties and had to call time out twice to prevent two more. If not for the bad snap there would have been a third delay of game penalty.
Good job Joey
Yeah BabY

I may end up buying a Kerry Wynn jersey.
