Agreed..if you don't get penalized, I'm fine with it. I would love to see some of these mo mo's on here play their tennis or golf, etc..I'm sure they all do the same, its human nature.

He had the kind of half we expected of him against Atlanta and then had zero catches in a tight loss.

extrapolating his first half against ATL to a whole season, your expectations are 4200 yards and 32 TDs?

Ummmkay...

No.

didn't play well in either the cowboy game or the bills game. He was a non factor in those games.

Anytime he is reasonably healthy and on the field he will never be a non-factor. You don't completely judge a player who makes it easier for every other teammate on the field by his stats alone.

No, jackass. But a catch or two to convert a third down from our star WR might have been the diff in the game.

the 100 catches are great (I guess) but how many plays over 20 yards has beckham made? He's catching 5 yard hitches in front of defenders.

[i]The other big issue the Bills have faced in their two losses is the tempo of the opposing offense. New Englands Tom Brady averaged just 1.99 seconds from snap to attempted throw, while Eli Manning beat that Sunday, throwing on average just 1.82 seconds after taking the snap, according to the analytics website Pro Football Focus.

You're not getting 40 yard bombs when you play the quick pass game.

Didn't he have 2 big 3rd down catches on the final drive against Dallas?

But he didn't do that against Atl!!

And he seems to get little credit for the back breaking TD against Wash

Where's Mario Williams' fine for dropping Jennings on his head?

Why? You want a pentalty for a regular tackle. He got Jennings in an awkward position and just tackled him as best he could. Unfortunately for Jennings first thing to hit the floor was his head.
next they'll be fining Jennings for brutaslly stiff arming

Rambo. Running back tackling is all that's left of the mano-a-mono aspect of the NFL of my youth.

He picked Jennings up off the ground and slammed him into the turf! That's a penalty, especially in today's game...
He didn't just tackle him. He lifted him and dumped him on the turf

If that's true, then OBJ should realize those guys are a lot smarter than he is because they are not getting caught, whereas he got caught and made himself look like a biatch

I guess you missed all the personal foul penalties called on the Bills

Again,

he should just be quiet instead of complaining about being punched. Poor judgement, IMO
And here is a video

of a Bills player (not in uniform) throwing a punch on the sideline. Where is his fine? Bills were playing dirty too so their whining is just sour grapes.

True. But in every sport, you have to learn how to deliver shots without getting nailed. Beckham is just making things worse for himself with what he did.
part of the game

is to be professional. Child like stuff is not and won't help us get to the playoffs. He needs to focus on the next play instead of this shit.

He can and will do better. I'd like to see that start happening sooner than later.

and in the atlanta game, he had one nice TD catch that resulted in half of his total yards for the game and completely disappeared in the second half.

about OBJ's (lack of) productivity so far this year. I started a thread about his miscommunications with Eli vs the Bills.

Beckham's lack of YPC and overall production is related to his miscommunications. Once he gets on the same page with Eli at > 90% of his targets, everything will open up for him, as much as possible vs various coverages. They need to hit on more of those back shoulder throws because that will put the corners tighter up on him, which will loosen up the opportunistic deep balls.

Plus, even on the shorter routes and back shoulder stuff, OBJ is great with the ball in his hands. He needs more opportunities to make the 1st guy miss, and that's mostly on him to get open for the stuff Eli is dictating at the LOS. Maybe the crowd noise bothered him last game, although I would guess most of Eli's LOS adjustments for the WRs are visual cues...

Beckham broke the record for the most production over the first 16 games of any WR in league history and he's on pace for 100 catches again. And he's constantly drawing two defenders, freeing up open routes for other receivers

The only hype he's not living up to is unreasonable hype.

His performance from last year added to this years performance has nothing to do with how he's doing this year. He's underperformed this year unless you think he's a good not great player.
So do mediocre players..
FatMan in Charlotte : 10/8/2015 8:02 am : link
end up with 100 catches in a season while being doubled?

How many opportunities in the first four games has doubling OBJ given Randle, Parker and others?

Even looking at the stats, he's playing well. Looking at his overall effect, he's playing very well.

But, you'd have to not be a contrarian or look past stats to figure that out. But you've showed time and again you can't and won't.

It took you 4 hrs and 12 minutes..I was beginning to worry
first couple of games Eli missed a couple to an open Beckham
Headhunter : 10/8/2015 8:11 am : link
against the Bills Beckham clearly did not run a couple of routes correctly. He has dropped a couple of a couple of jump balls against DB's that I thought he win. I think he gets on the same page with Eli, I think he catches balls that he didn't and I think he is the single biggest threat in the NFL and I thank the football Gods he is a Giant everyday

I think this is right. As good as OBJ has been, I have a feeling he has another gear and for whatever reason, hasn't hit it this season.

We all like to project our own personal imagined morality plays on our favorite sports teams, so i'll offer as pure conjecture the idea that OBJ was better because he was less full of himself as a rookie. He was coming off a hamstring injury and had yet to prove himself, so he paid attention and concentrated on fulfilling the role the coaches outlined for him on a game to game basis. He was yet to be a superstar.

But that's what he is now, and there are more distractions. He's still bringing all his talent to each and every game, but the mental aspect, listening and being on the same page with Eli will make a quantitative difference on the field.

And I'm confident this light will turn on for OBJ.
