“I love seeing Tom Brady, he’s cool as crap,” Hardy said. “Have you seen his wife? I hope she comes to the game. I hope her sister comes to the game, all her friends come to the game. One of my favorite games of the year, guys.” Asked what he would say to those who feel he should not be on the team because he was found guilty by a judge of domestic violence, Hardy replied, “God bless you. That’s the message.” What he learned most about himself through the ordeal, Hardy said, was that he’s a “really good pass rusher when I put my mind to it.” His central concerns now, he said, are winning and getting sacks, adding that, “I’m really good at that.” |
Even if those things are true (and Im not about to take your word for it) it doesnt justify the violent crime committed against her, or somehow make it less bad.

So what do you think his punishment should be. He missed a season. Plus missed on about 4 million dollars this year. Last I checked, that's still a lot of money.
I think the max is/was closer to $12M, but if he plays the rest of the season I believe he'll earn ~$9M and possibly a little more if he hits some sack thresholds.
Also, keep in mind the Cowboys basically mortgaged 2016 to sign him since just about any money he earns will count towards next years cap, not this years. So anything short of a SB for them this year is essentially a bust.

but what does that have to do with what Hardy did?

He wasn't punished last year. He received full pay and didn't even have to risk getting injured for it. I can argue his situation was the best case scenario in fact. His 4 games this year for paying off a witness (which is also illegal) is peanuts in the grand scheme of his ordeal.
But again, you are not addressing the question about why the girl doing coke somehow makes a difference.

C'mon man, it ain't rocket surgery. It's like the rape victim who made the stupid mistake of wearing a mini skirt. She was basically asking to get power-bombed into Hardy's bathtub and later onto a sofa covered in rifles and shotguns.
But again, you are not addressing the question about why the girl doing coke somehow makes a difference.
Yea, about the only argument you can make for him receiving *punishment* last season would be that a monster 12+ sack season could've fetched him a long term deal worth something like $60M/$30M guaranteed over 5 years.
But even if he played last season while the case was "worked out", I doubt anyone goes near a deal like that. Certainly not the guaranteed money.

whether you agree with it or not, the NFL deems the comissioners list as punishment. The NFLPA deems it as such as well. Everyone is quick to say "shoot, pay me to stay at home". but the guy was stripped of something he questionably loves. training at a NFL facility, with the best doctors, nutritionist & trainers around is different than lifting weights at your local YMCA. so there's a chance of your skill set diminishing while you're at home "collecting a check".
settling a case out of court is not illegal. it happens often.
and about her doing coke. that statement was in regards to why people view Hardy different than they do Ray Rice. Society is more prone to hold a grudge against Rice because "how can you strike your beloved fiance, the mother of your child, this wholesome person".
Hardys girl was not seen as wholesome, beloved, like, respected...none of that (at least, not by the Charlotte media). On top of all that, her lawyer couldn't contact her, she skipped trials, then low key bragged on facebook about coming up on some money.
Get it now or nah?
Anyone who thinks the actions of the victim should play into the reaction to the incident are either trying to somehow defend Hardy or they just aren't that smart.

You live in Fort Mill. That's like 5 miles out. Stop claiming our city
So he settled out of court huh? Weird. I'm pretty sure he paid her not to testify. That isn't legal, but what do I know.
As for the perception on what type of woman he beat, i'm going to leave that alone. I've said enough on it.

Plus no one feels sympathy for the chic he slammed because she was a cocaine sniffing haux. Not an opinion, that's the truth.
This clown needs to go.
why should this be bannable? dude, I live in charlotte. I've seen the chic out. two guys that I shoot ball with "done nasty things to her at the same time". its in the police report that she snorted cocaine regularly. like, I'm not slandering the chic or anything. that's who she is/was back in 2014 when everything went down.
based on that, why should I be banned?
