Collin Cowherd ranks Giants 5th best nfl team this year

TreesForDays : 10/7/2015 1:07 pm
Loves our run D, and loves our offensive weapons and olines potential.

Fwiw.

It was basically his power rankings and he ranked us 5th.

I'd say it's a bit high
eli4life : 10/7/2015 1:12 pm : link
But I Like how he acknowledges our run d and how well the oline is playing. There is definitely room for improvement but they are coming together. Also this unit seems to be more of a "team " playing together than the pay several years
Can't think of anything I value less

Than Colin Cowherd's opinions
Agreed Greg

As far as what the Giants are that is TBD.

Cowherd takes the cake. He's the very definition of a smarmy prick.
thats agressive

Atlanta
NE
Cinci
GB
Denver
Seattle
Arizona
Carolina

Those teams have all been better than us without question. There are others that are in our class.

I know Carolina is 4-0 but I'm not sure they are better than us. We would match up well against them I think.
I Didn't Hear His Show Today
Trainmaster : 10/7/2015 1:25 pm : link
but my guess is, Cowherd presented it as his opinion, not as the result of any "expert analysis" or "very informed opinion". I don't think he is more or less correct than the "so called experts".

As far as personality goes, he and Collinsworth have similar speaking styles and delivery IMHO. They do come across as "know it all"; not sure why.

I do think Collinsworth spends way more time, is way more knowledgeable and has an "I played the game" perspective.

I'll take Cowherd any day of the week and twice on Sunday compared to the self absorbed, star struck Dan Patrick and his crew of sycophants.

Has a celebrity pick games against Colin Cowherds picks every week, and every time the celebrity wins they get to return the next week and keep going until they lose to him. Alice Cooper has been picking games 3 weeks in a row now

"Elite teams", clearly currently playing better than the Giants:

Cincy
GB
NE

Teams I think the Giants are "in the conversation with":
Atlanta
Seattle
Arizona
Carolina
Denver

Agree. Cowherd is my favorite sports talk show. His new slot is 9-noon here, so I don't get to listen to him on most of my drives to work, and it's a loss for me.
Does

Dan Lebatard make picks? If so, how is he doing?

I'm still giving him a "test drive", but so far I don't find Lebatard and his crew very interesting or entertaining.

Thank goodness for Sirius/XM NFL Radio.

Cowherd

is a love 'em or hate 'em guy as this thread indicates.

No.

His show is a lot more focused on issues in sports than hard analysis and chalk talk by far.
Here's a link to a classic Fire Joe Morgan demolition of Cowherd

Lebatard's show mocks prediction tv and radio
MarshallOnMontana : 10/7/2015 1:39 pm : link
He hates it. The show is not your typical sports show and some people are going to hate it because of that, but i prefer it to cowherd or anything thats on wfan 100 times out of 100. Im arrogant enough to think i know more than the host, i dont come to sports radio for someone elses knowledge. Entertain me. They have been working on things since the move to 10am but i think the show is hitting its stride. Ive been laughing my ass off at the recent running charicatures of Jim Tomsula and Dan Campbell
Did I miss the Memo about Seattle this year?
dep026 : 10/7/2015 1:43 pm : link
they should be 1-3 if not for a huge referee blunder. They arent seattle of years past.
Holy crap.......
Simms11 : 10/7/2015 1:44 pm : link
let's win a few more games before we start annointing this team as a top 5 team in the league!
I don't know where we rank
nyynyg : 10/7/2015 1:46 pm : link
and I don't really care. Still way to early, let's win some more games

As for Carolina, from what they've shown thus far, they do not seem that should be ranked that high. Their record will be changing quite a bit is my guess as the season progresses.
He has

and has had some serious love for the Giants.

Almost makes me think the Giants have pictures of him doing unnatural acts with farm animals.

Agreed
Regarding Carolina
MarshallOnMontana : 10/7/2015 2:51 pm : link
For them to be a legit contender this season will require a herculean effort from Cam, even with them having a solid defense (though the D probably isnt as good as 2 years ago). His best WR is Ten Ginn Jr., and Newton is probably going to lead them in rushing. Hes barely off the team lead right now and jonathan stewart hasnt even been missing his obligatory games yet.
Carolina has a wacky schedule...
okiegiant : 10/7/2015 3:18 pm : link
they don't play Atlanta until mid December but they play them twice in three weeks(sandwiched around the Giants).

Like that guy

Palmer is a good QB, and while they don't have a ton of weapons, I do like their defense.

Denver's D is also excellent, so it's hard to discount them as pretenders even though Peyton appears to be falling off rapidly.
