Q: If you guys get over .500, what would that mean?

A: It’s huge. The NFC East is obviously a little tight right now and we’re just fighting for our lives, man. Trying to make it an official streak. Two games, eh. Three games, that’s a streak. Great opponent, huge platform and it’s a huge game. That’s the nature of the NFL.

Q: They’ve had a huge struggle on offense this season. How do you look at them and say we’re going to have a real challenge on our hands?

A: A lot of those guys played in the Super Bowl a few years ago, Kaepernick led the team to the Super Bowl. High respect for Anquan Boldin; they’re loaded with Hyde; their offensive line is complete; their tight end Vernon Davis, is a big problem. You can’t look at the record or what they have because we know they have the potential of being very explosive. We’ve got our work cut out for us.

Q: Carlos Hyde had a big opening game and kind of dropped off a little. Is it the way they’ve been playing him or what do you see there?

A: I don’t know. I got a chance to catch that Minnesota game live and I was a big fan of the unis, the all black was kind of cool. Hyde is a Florida guy, so I was watching him and he’s complete. He’s physical, he’s fast, he can make that big cutback, catch the ball out of the backfield. Teams have just done a good job. I think if we can stop him, I think he makes their offense go.

Q: How much is it a concern that Devon Kennard has the hamstring, Jonathan Casillas has the calf now. Do you guys have a plan for a strong-side linebacker?

A: Well, with the exception of Devon and Uani, we’re a very veteran group. Guys have been getting nicked and a lot of us have our role now and everyone’s played. We feel comfortable, so whoever goes in there, we represent the New York Giants defense. That’s it. Next man up. Obviously, he’s is going to be missed, he’s been playing outstanding for us. He can do so much rushing the passer, being extremely consistent against the run and showing he can cover some guys last week with the interception. It’s unfortunate and it’s the nature of the business, so it’s next man up mentality.

Q: Looks like they’re getting Vernon Davis back this week. What can he give them at this point?

A: He can really, really stretch the field. He’s a receiver in a tight end body, actually probably a Greek god body. He’s a special player, he’s been around for a long time, he can definitely hurt you. They do a good job moving him around, some deep overs, some swap boots stuff, they get him one-on-one, so huge, huge target for them. We’ll do some special things because he’s that type of guy.
We should be fine. Tight ends don't normally
