Nash tends to raise his game against Columbus, so I hope to see something from the top line tonight after a forgettable opener. Actually, Nash wasn't bad in that one, really. He created a handful of excellent scoring chances, but Zuccarello and Brassard were invisible.
Good to see that Glass isnt coming in for grit. CBJ is a physical team. I really think Etem could struggle to play 25% of the time if no one is hurt. I wouldnt let that fester too long -- if we're healthy in a month we should look into making a deal. He is not Eddie Olczyk who is a finished product you can trot out there every 10-14 days no problem.
if they deal Etem, they're not getting much for him
Etem should be in a lineup. This bottom 6 is as deep as I can remember. Lindberg just had an amazing camp, and Stoll was a special discount signing.
I bet Etem gets a decent return. A discount from this summer, but there are a bunch of teams that are running out forwards simply because they have no better options. Etem is a guy that a bottom 15 team would be happy to give a shot to.
In any event, I assume someone will get hurt and Etem will get a bunch of time.
its a matter of when not if for Etem. Hopefully he gets the burn, not #15.
How cute of FEKker to be rooting for a fellow wild card contender tonight. He may come to regret that - only two of CBJ, NYI, Boston, Ottawa and Florida can get in, unfortunately.

I agree. I thought Nash made some nice plays with the puck in Chicago and was surprised that he was criticized after the game.
The line as a group didn't do much, and Nash is the big name on the line. Even though his linemates were the main culprits, his name is the one that gets brought up.
Should be interesting to see the feisty third line against a physical team like Columbus. Miller, Lindberg and Stalberg were all throwing some hits in Chicago. BTW BSB had a nice post breaking down how Miller was the catalyst for both of the first two goals.
From Brass, Nash (to a lesser extent) & Zucc... 1st off as mentioned, Nasher usually gets up for games against The CBJ's. I think it was Brooks who reported all the F bombs AV was slinging around, directed at his 1st line, (Achem Brass!) at Thursdays practice. (where other beat reporters just quoted AV's G rated version...) How Brass & Zucc were notoriously slow startes and AV responded, F'in Try a little harder, Compete a little harder...change that "slow start" shit & start fast. AV Challenged his team...
I expect a response on ice, & not just from the top line but from the whole team... they all heard & saw AV's response/reaction.
LGR!!!
Totally OT but... Mmmmm Erin looks good today!! (NFLN Erin!)
I am not a troll and the highlight of our season was losing 510 man games and still being above .500...if the rangers or any team for that matter had to endure what we did, well, good luck with that...

How many second round disappointments can they weather before the locker room fractures a bit. They swapped Brouwer and Oshie which to me is a wash and makes them softer. Ward who was a constant thorn in our side becomes Justin Williams. Their best move was getting that cunt Holtby signed to a long term deal. Mike Green is also out but to me he was fading and overpaid.
And as much as I respect how #8 plays the game (though i also believe he headhunts too much and lesser players get suspended for that) -- he's played a hard, physical game for over a decade now. You'd think that would catch up to him one year.
Also not sure how Backstrom comes back off serious surgery, and Holtby i think regresses a bit too.
They're a good team but i honestly dont understand all the preseason hype. Almost every report i've seen has them against Tampa in the ECF and like 75% of analysts picking them to win the regular season division too. There's 5 good teams in this division and the other 4, imo, have a strong case to make that on paper they have a better roster.
Washington actually scares me next year ... because those two kids they have will be more seasoned and i think they open up some cap space next year too.
I just dont see the roster depth that others have. I think a lot of guys have very good seasons for them last year, and expect some to slip back in year 2. Though Kuznetsov could bust out huge.
The overwhelming hype for Washington is bizarre, considering that they really didn't make any noticeable improvements to the roster of a team that got bounced in the second round yet again.

The forwards did a poor job of breakouts. There was a lot of cluttering towards the puck and lack of foot movement.
No way should they trade Etem.

Was basically highlight of their season
Would you like some cheese to go with that whine?
Now, like us, meh.. they're just a team.
The prospect of a long series against two of CBJ/NYI/WAS worries me more than any team individually. All really physical teams.

I predict a 4-1 win tonight.
It's odd. I've always felt like you get away with 20x more after the whistle (not just post-goal). Makes no sense.
I've been saying this for a couple of years now. It's ridiculous.
