I'd be interested to see him play. Doesn't really solve the problem of Seraphin being out, though. I wonder who the "other" backup C on this team is ... KP?

They would just go small off the bench:
Galloway Grant early Williams Oquinn
THat is a pretty athletic bench but i like the oquinn Seraphin front court better...
I'd just be thrilled to see him get on the court even in preseason. He's a good guy who overcame some disappointments to have a terrific senior year and it's nice to see him make it this far even if he has no shot of making the roster.

He will be on the d league team, so you can follow him...
I think the 5 guys who are cut will all be on the dleague team unless Thanasis is one of the cut players, i think he goes overseas if he is cut..
He and Saunders got bigger deals than the usual D-league contracts, partially guaranteed too, indicating that the Knicks want to keep them in the system.
Probably go small part of the time, with O'Quinn at center and
Williams or Melo at PF. Could even give Amundson a few minutes at the 4 or 5 for a slightly bigger look. (Yuck.)
O'Quinn is really a 4/5. Many teams don't have a back-up center who is bigger than 6'10", 250, and many of them are less athletic than he is.
Atkins might even get a few minutes as a pretty big 3 who can rebound and defend, but can not shoot the ball in the ocean, except from a jetty.
Otto Porter is finally playing as they expected. They could be the sleeper in the east.
This is my problem with the Wizards, they have 2 big lumbering bigs, with a fast break back court...
If they could trade Nene for an athletic 4 who can run and shoot, i think they would take the next step...
Wall wants to run and get in the open court, that is when he is at his best...
Also in the playoffs, who is their go to scorer? is it Wall? Beal? Gortat? they dont have that guy who can put a team on his back and just carry them in a playoff game...
They are very good team do not get me wrong and probably top 4 in the east but i dont think they are there yet where they can compete..
The problem is he is already 23, and his free throw percentage last year was .520. Looks as if he has a physiological issue such as Meagan Fox's thumbs, or coordination issues that very well may not be fixable.
Also in the playoffs, who is their go to scorer? is it Wall? Beal? Gortat? they dont have that guy who can put a team on his back and just carry them in a playoff game...
Don't tell the Knicks that. Beal has dagger'd us to death the past few years lol

Not in the playoffs, playoffs are a different pace and different style, you can be the fastest team in the league but when it comes to the playoffs it is always slowed down, you need a guy you can give the ball to and go 1 on 1...
Wall cant be that guy. He has improved every year. If Beal can stay healthy he could make major strides. Personally i think WAS can be the 2nd best team in the east (probably my favorite for the 2 seed if i had to pick).

Even if they are the 2 seed, i still see Cleveland smoking them in the playoffs...
He is already in med season form; give some other guys more min and don't risk injury. They still have plenty more warm up games before the season starts for him to stay tuned in.

Agree.
KP gets tired and sits down with 10 boards, 9 points, 3 assists and 2 blocks in 21 minutes, plus altered a bunch of Wizard shots.
During his first few months, I'd like to see him focusing on rebounding and defense. His scoring will come. Everyone knows he's a talented scorer. But he's very young and it will take him time to get comfortable on the offensive end.
Early isn't ready after an injury-filled first season...
and it probably won't matter. The backup 3 is likely to be Williams, and they have enough guards and enough 4-5's to go 3-guard at times if they need to.
People hating on Williams in the first game were awfully premature. He has a lot to learn, but he showed skills and effort tonight. He's a big, physical 3, and if he pays attention, he can play d.
Mentioned that his starting 5 are going to be more of a half court 5 and that his second unit is a little more athletic and will run more...

Minor point, but I think they only need to cut 4 guys. They have 19 currently and need to get to 15.

ahh you are correct, ok 4 guys who are cut unless it is Thanasis, my fault

That will help, if Porter can live up to his draft slot that would be big for them...

Rangers are on 578 so it's an easy night for toggling back and forth.

Yup. Second unit not looking as good tonight, without Seraphin. First unit looked great, though.
yeah, he is surprising me how good he is. He has a double-double now.
