weakened linebacker corps! If Herz or Brinkley are in at SLB, I'd look for them to be passing to Vernon Davis or a RB in order to keep drives alive. I think we'll be ok in run D again this week, however, Kap can get outside of Herz if he turns upfield on his side. Hopefully Spags has a good game plan, because we are severely weaker this week on D. I also hope OO starts in place of Selvie and Wynn at the other DT spot, because Jenkins at DE is not a good thing. He's far too slow.
and extra S instead of SSLB? I can't see Herzlich maintaining the edge and covering TEs. This is an example of where having McClain would be nice.
That's kind of what I was thinking. Perhaps we'll see more Collins down in the box, as more of a LB role, and another or third safety back in the traditional role. That gives us still the ability top tackle, cover intermediate routes and the ability to get to a running QB if necessary, as well. Could also play the spy role.
and potential to not have Staley, as well, they will probably look at the short passing game to get the ball out quickly, as well. That's another reason to have a third safety on the field IMO. I know they want to run, but I think they'll switch it up and come out with the short passing game.
The two best players on the field, Eli and OBJ, need

Kaepernick has been terrible. They'll put the game in front of them and make the pass game beat them. Hint: it won't. Boldin is slower than John Jerry, Davis is hobbled, and Torrey Smith is lost without Flacco. Carlos Hyde is good, but their line isn't.
I love this line. And the preview. And the fact that the Giants are following in the footsteps of Owen, Howell(Lombardi and Landry), Perkins and Parcells.
like they did against the Redskins and set the tone very early in this one. Can't give the Niners any confidence at all. Question - is our D up to the task without Ayers, Kennard and Selvie? Hopefully OO takes the next step in his development and gives us more, additionally, you have to get something out of Moore in this game too. Jenkins at DE is not ideal and Kuhn at DT, to me is still a big ? Is Jenkins that much better at DE, in passing situations, then Wynn? If not, then why take Wynn out then. And why even consider Jenkins at DE, unless you're forced into it with another injury?! Makes zero sense!
but games are played on the field (not on paper). I don't know why but, last week I was pretty confident we would beat the Bills .... this game makes me nervous.
Boone DNP Wednesday Limited yesterday
Staley DNP both Wednesday and Yesterday
vernon Davis Limited both days

Get the place rocking a bit and then have the defense swarm to Hyde & Kap and hit them hard, even when they gain yards.
I would like to think that even with these injuries the Defense can play a bit "safe" and force punts.
Giants win 27 - 10.
Giants need not to take them lightly or they'll be looking at a 2-3 record.

49ers Injury List: Vernon Davis (OUT) Ahmad Brooks (Doubtful) Patton, Staley (Questionable) Boone, Bowman, McCray, McDonald (Probable)
