No sacks. I think we can do worse than Newhouse. Sure he wasn't great but he had a tough assignment and he did ok. Last week Kerrigan this week lynch. Isn't easy.
He had a bad game but he played better this season than we expected. He is an excellent backup OT who can start a few games if needed. So we should cut him and start who Hart?
when we were trotting him out to start at tackle later in his career. That was Eli routinely getting decapitated. Newhouse has not been great, but we can work around him.
Some of you think the defensive player isn't supposed to ever get any pressure. He's not playing against a scrub. I don't think Eli was sacked at all tonight.
Newhouse has been a good pickup and has played his tail off.
Is a beast. He did well enough against him considering. You cant just judge an OL by his bad plays. Both holding calls would have led to negative plays if he did not hold and just got beat. The holding gets us a down back.
The O line has been solid.
Not allowing sacks does not mean he's playing great
He's not supposed to be a starter, but hopefully Beatty gets back soon and that's not an issue. He was going against a very good player tonight and without a lot of help, and he struggled.
He has been OK. I look at something else with him. He is keeping his guy outside, and the interior OL play has allowed Eli to step up in the pocket to make throws
That was a challenge last year
How do you actually watch the game and think he is like C. Brown
looks pretty bad in run blocking. He often just misses his assignment and it leads to short gains by our RBs, even when the play the is not to the right side.
unless Flowers is hurt. The rookie is clearly their LT for the next decade and is playing well. Flowers is at least as good, right now, as Beatty was at his best and is getting better. If Beatty plays at all, it will be at RT.
"Flowers is at least as good, right now, as Beatty was at his best."
That seems like selectively only remembering Beatty's bad years. Flowers is solid in the context of a rookie playing the position on a team without a better option. It's not like he's steamrolling guys out there.
Keep in mind the OP isn't the greatest talent evaluator
when he's on record defending to the death that Romo is a mere stat compiler. Newhouse is the weak link, but he's been better than expected, and he's definitely not Charles Brown bad.

I'm not remembering Beatty's bad years. There isn't even a lot of bad play from him. He is a pretty good LT. He was never an elite LT; he was solid with some great performances. Flowers is already a solid LT. It was not a knock on Beatty as much as a compliment to Flowers that he stepped right in as a rookie at LT and has held his own.
but it's asking too much of the kid to move to rt mid-season.
IRA, it was asking a lot of the kid to take double shifts at OLT all through the preseason. It was a lot to ask of the kid to step in and start at OLT at 21 years old.
I have no idea how the Giants will shake out the OL once Beatty returns. But a good guess would be Newhouse will ride pine. And if asked to move to the right side, Flowers will be fine. He's responded well to all that's been asked of him to date.

Beatty is okay at LT (sans the year where he watched You-Tube videos of pro bowlers to hone his skills), but I tend to agree with you that Flowers should stay put.
He took Hughes completely out of his game a week ago, and pissed him off so much that he lost his shit by the 4Q.
Newhouse has been okay so far this year. He gets a pass for tonight.
He's much better than Brown. Beatty will replace him when he comes back.
I still think that Beatty goes back to LT and Flowers go to RT which will be the best OL unit configuration IMO.
There's nothing they can do about it as this point though. They just have to hope Pugh is fine and Beatty comes back and can play a decent RT.
Sometimes the other player is better. Today Lynch was much better.
Tip your cap and enjoy the win.

The O line has been solid.
It helps mask the impact of giving up pressures when Eli's the 4th fastest QB in the league as far as getting the ball out of his hands.

Flowers is our LT of the future and is already playing the spot. You have to try Beatty at RT.
Best hold of the season so far.
Newhouse isn't great but he hasn't been terrible either. Beatty will prob go to RT when he returns.

Have to give him props. And to Newhouse as well for giving his best. He's never going to be an All Pro and he had his hands full.
How about enjoying the win?
Just don't understand that kind of stuff.
Eli wasn't actually sacked a lot last year. That doesn't mean JD Walton and John Jerry are good players.
Pass blocking he actually seems to be better at.
Beatty's not playing RT. He'll play LT and Flowers will move to RT.

That makes Flowers kind of special in my view...
