In following up on another old Inside the NFL interview segment, I found one from 1991 about Carl Banks. It's an interesting flashback in that Banks talks about the opportunities that playing football brings, and for inner city kids to take advantage to get an education.
And then in the further interesting part, it shows Banks getting his start in radio, working at WNEW with Bob Papa on sports updates, a precursor to them becoming the Giants radio voices. It also shows Banks networking with business executives and beginning his work in fashion, and since running his own company, GIII. It's a good example of a player preparing for life after football, and in Banks case, doing it just as he had planned.
