I was excited when they drafted him, I get the whole 1st round grade talk, great value, steal, etc.
I get that players take time to develop, I was burned on the Corey Webster bandwagon (I thought he was terrible after getting trucked by Marion Barber and then he became a shutdown corner). I'm patiently waiting for him to ascend or at least stabilize.
His production hasn't been terrible:

But he frustrates the hell out of me sometimes. The drop hurt to watch, I mean that was a perfect throw.
For me the maddening portion is running out of bounds after the bomb, why? Is he protecting an injury? I mean, isn't the objective there to try and outrun the defender?
He's also a big guy, can't he stiff arm or outmuscle the defender? Knowing that football is a game of inches, wouldn't you try to get every yard? Why wouldn't he think 6 there?
It just frustrates me since I don't understand the thought process there. I don't care that he's not fiery, that's fine, it just feels like there is a disconnect there. Is this an overreaction? I'm happy with the win, I just want winning players on the team.
Wheres Manningham now?
"thank god Randle is out", not me. I wanted him in there because I thought he could help us win the game...
So with that, tell me why I should think Randle is not an important part of this team ...
DQ
Basically. He's reached his potential. And I don't see him getting better. That drop almost costed the giants.. Speaking of drops, how many do they have now 23 ?
Sanu? Streater? Kearse? Matthews?
All better football players than Randle.
I'd take Sanu first. Even at 5-6 million a year.
Rishard Matthews
Brian Quick
randle is definitely a decent player in this league. Especially when he's 100%. Look at the last 2 games of the year in 2014.
Take a look at the Rams game especially!!
He is the opposite of Beckham in this regard. He seems content to just be around, not striving to the absolute best. This small ball approach is lazy.
You build a winning team with are guys with the attitude of a a Beckum, a Manning, a Vereen. Always striving to be the absolute best, regardless of talent level or if they are vocally loud.
Randle, like Donnell, are maddening because they have some good measurable and ability, but they seems to shrink down to moments rather than rise up and seize it and excel over everyone.
Randle is a decent player. Hardly a bust at the end of round #2. Inconsistent hands. Injured and beat up.
The way our coordinator is calling the offense this year, OBJ will be lucky to pass 1200 yards. What chance does Randle have to get big yards?????
Randle is a 'middle class' player. I dont see any star makings in him though. What attribute of his is star like?
His size is slightly above average. His speed and moves are pedestrian. His competitiveness and drive are average. His health is average to below average. His knowledge of the offense is probably his best attribute.
Perhaps people remember his lofty draft evaluation. Forget it, its known he's not the Hakeem Nicks clone people thought we were getting with him for years now.
Quite frankly, he looked at least somewhat explosive as a rookie against dallas and philly. have not seen that since. His body seems to have broken down at an early age happens to football players.
