It's a bad loss, but we chewed up their bullpen and burned their game 4 starter. Harvey was tough, the pitchers were mostly really good, we paid for errors and runners left on base.
Bats need to warm up, tighten up in the field, and were ok.
Bigger win for them than loss for us. Would've been great to get the W though. Big missed opportunity. Don't get too many of those.
No offense. I'm rooting for you guys. But if that's not a heartbreaker I don't know what it is... especially given you were winning in the 9th.
Heartbreaker, not a heartbreaker....why bother people who are already pissed off?
but I figured it wasn't fun when the Yankees had a chance to go into the playoffs, with a game at home and their SuperStar on the mound, went out like they were bored and didn't care enough to even score a run but no one here went onto that Yankee discussion to clarify if jerkoffs like Kulish were upset about it.
Yep. The truth is the Mets played a great game from the moment the OF decided to not catch the ball and allow a HR. They did everything that people go nuts about when talking about how great the Royals are. They were aggressive on first or second pitch strikes that caught a lot of plate. They extended at bats when he got a little wild. They stole bases, played very good D, scored the go ahead run with some small ball and put balls in play in general. This game can be taken two ways. I mean no matter what it's a brutal way to lose when your superior closer gives up a hr after not giving one up or blowing a save for 3 months. Between that and the lack of hits with RISP and even the occasional strikeout with a man on third and less than 2 outs, that killed us.
But even so, we still had the fucking game. Harv was great without his best stuff. He threw all his pitches well. Had one bad inning. However they also played the Royals game and almost beat them at it.
Really need to just win this game and ideally the next 2 no matter what. If they take one on the road, that's the idea. Should be going into game 5 2-2 at worst. I have confidence in the ace tonight. And the lineup should be confident they can have some solid ABs and get hits with RISP tonight. Sucks ass but get this one.

I didn't know the asylum allowed the patients Internet access in the middle of the night. Live and learn I guess.
In the future if you find me on BBI getting involved on a thread on a team I have no rooting interest in and it is late at night, please have me committed the following day to an Institution as this proves I lost my mind and or my life has no real meaning anymore and would be better off removed from society
a Yankee fan would be doing on a Met World Series thread that went well past midnight on Tuesday night.
I mean, we all know Greg is here to monitor the tone and choice of words used by Mets fans to keep us in check and let us know that our flawed team is playing well above its head, nothing more!
You gotta wonder what

By this line of thought, there should never be a Super Bowl thread that doesn't involve the Giants.
1.) Having a young rotation with our age/power combination is UNPRECEDENTED in today's game. TRUE. And there are about 167 articles on the internet right now saying exactly that. We have the hardest throwing staff in baseball. This isn't up for contention. Nobody's saying this is the best rotation of all time but from a talent/age standpoint- its extremely extremely, extremely rare.
2.) Familia is ONE OF THE BEST closers in the game. Apparently that is a joke to Yankee fans also. LOL.
Looks like he was, overall, pretty accurate about this team. They are probably a year ahead of schedule, now playing in the World Series. Knocked off 2 of the best pitchers going and a 97 win ballclub from the best division in baseball to get here.
You gotta wonder what

Your analogy would work better if they started posting on a Seahawks website after Wilson threw the interception.

Not really. Being that this is a Giants site, there wouldn't be any fans of either team in the thread. No one is likely to have an emotional connection to one or the other besides being pretty much unified in rooting against a team (e.g., Philly, Dallas, etc.). Here, that's clearly not the case. There appear to be a few people trying to get a rise out of others (and succeeding).

I don't disagree with this
But this is the World Series we're talking about.
There are game threads for just about every major championship game/series on these boards. When Rangers were in the SC finals in 2014, it wasn't just Ranger fans posting. There were fans of many teams posting.
To suggest that Yankee fans can't/shouldn't post because the Mets are involved is really asinine.

Totally different argument, imo. We are all Giants fans, so a Super Bowl thread without the Giants in it won't have any emotional ties. Who would care if someone makes fun of another quarterback for a poor game.
It is similar to the hockey threads. I am an Islander fan, but I had no interest in posting in the Rangers thread after they were eliminated by Tampa.
But I stay away from game threads like these anyway. I can't multi-task. I am unable to bite my nails watching the Mets, and post at the same time.
Anyway, here's hoping deGrom pitches a gem and the Mets get to Cueto early so they can wipe the bad taste of last night's game.
RE: RE: I'm a Yankee fan. I've stayed off most baseball threads all year,
If you go back and read what I was writing during the game itself (IOW, the things aside from mocking the hell out of the spluttering jackass), it's nothing inflammatory, just the observations of a huge baseball fan with only a minor rooting interest.

Not trying to get into an argument. I am still bummed and tired about last night.
But put it this way, I doubt you were very eager to hear from hockey fans -- who were also Islanders fans -- after the Rangers lost to LA in the finals.
yankee fans and other baseball fans should be able to post and talk

And yet hear from them we did. Shit happens.
Of course it does. But it doesn't change the fact you expressed how pissed off you were about it at that moment, just as Mets fans are expressing it now.
I could give a fuck if the loser constantly posts his trollish comments but when others respond and it starts fucking up the thread. Well. A troll is a troll. Get rid of the loser so maybe he'll step outside from his pathetic existence.
If you can't behave yourself, I'll go back to strictly enforcing it.
This is just stupid. There are much, much worse issues in other threads. Hell, there is worse in almost every game day thread. Also almost every Mets thread involving Mets fans only going after each other. Yet you find Yankees/Mets to be so far over the line, in comparison with other threads, that there has to be special rules? Come on now. Open your eyes. This conduct happens in a ton of threads now. It is the norm.
does yeomen's work on here so anything he says 100% goes with me but I will say I think individuals being warned/banned from posting on a thread seems better than banning all Yankee fans etc. I say that admittedly as someone who doesn't partake in most IGT's and someone who feels comfortable ignoring clear troll jobs. I don't know what Kulish said/did (nor do I really care) but I think we can all get along.
Stopped in to read everyone's thoughts on the game and this thread basically reminded me why I've mostly decided to stop posting.
Tough loss last night. Really tough. You tell me the ball is in Familia's hands with a 1 run lead and 2 out in the bottom of the 9th with no one on and I've already got one arm raised to celebrate. Just wasn't our night.
So many frustrating aspects. Michael Cuddyer getting 3 AB's in spots where we desperately needed a hit and not even being able to put the ball in play made me want to rip my hair out. Not being able to even put together a threat against Chris Young in extras. I am assuming Uribe was not available otherwise I'm at a loss there.
Really rough night for Wright. Especially up with 2 men on and 2 out against Madson who he's been able to hit quite a bit throughout his career. Madson was petrified and we let him off the hook.
Lagares almost won us the game by himself. He deserves a start in CF against Cueto who has struggled against RHB. Slide Cespedes over to LF, DH Conforto and please.. for the love of god, leave Cuddyer planted on the fucking bench.
Davis is their best BP arm and looked the part. We just couldn't figure him out. Duffy doesn't scare me and I felt like we had some really good cuts on Herrera.
We HAVE to jump on Cueto early tonight. He got stomped his last time out. Build a lead, get a strong 7 out of Jake and knot this thing up. I have the utmost faith that we will go back to Citi 1-1. Just frustrating we let that get away last night.
Clippard is still a major concern. I'd really consider making Reed the SU man if deGrom goes 7 and exits with a lead.
Felt like a major gut punch to lose that game but it's just 1 game. We can bounce back. Enjoy the game, y'all. LGM!
Wow, ZGiants relax buddy, it is just one game. You must be a real thrill to watch Giants games with.
All along everyone said they would take a split in KC, we just have to do it the hard way now. We have our Ace on the bump, hopefully Lagares in the line up, and our bats find a way to get timely hits.

The post you cited before was targeted at two people if read in full context. Only one of the two appeared to actually be trolling though.
