but Royals announcer who was just on with Francesa says the meteorologists tracking the weather claim the rain will move "east" by first pitch and this game will be fine.
During the Cubs/Mets Game #4, the announcer mentioned that this was the rallying cry for the '86 Mets. It made me wonder if the real story was known by more contemporary Met's fans.
1986 rallying cry, that's not entirely true... the phrase 'Ya Gotta Believe came from Tug McGraw late in the '73 season (the Met's lost to the A's in the World Series that year). The following year, the Met's rallied around the phrase, 'Ya Gotta believe more in '74'.

Not only that Bama, but if I remember correctly, Tug said it in a mocking way. I think they were in a losing streak and the owner or GM came into the locker room to pump up the team and Tug mockingly jumped up on his stool and screamed Ya Gotta Believe!
it's a different award. This one is voted on by other managers. This was sporting news manager of the year. The NL Manager of the year will be voted on by the BBWAA
-deGrom confirmed he's cutting his hair after the series
No, Sampson! No!!
DeGrom and Thor are so known by their locks they should've been trademarked lol. I don't know if I can get use to DeGrom without it. The kid has such a baby face.
it would be damn near our team exactly. I know some people like the small ball approach, speedy type team.... Not me. We've had the most talented team in baseball for some time now and thats why we're are here. Power up and down the lineup. On base percentage. Our leadoff guy can pop 20 HR. Our 8th hitter can pop 20 HR. POWER PITCHING. Nobody has anything close to this. Sorry. This is unprecedented. The perfect veteran bench. One of the best closers in the game. The bullpen has some concerns but if Mejia hadn't gotten suspended and Blevins hadn't been a dumbass our embarrassment of riches is even that much more ridiculous. Im so proud of Sandy and what he's done here. I know it took some longer to see than others but man has he done a fantastic job.
True and a little more to that story. Tug actually got the inspiration from Joe Badamo, a friend of Tug's and a motivational speaker. Here's a link to a great story on the way that all played out in 1973... Ya Gotta Believe - ( New Window )
have to play 3 games without their best player than people are willing to admit. If Cespedes or one of our best players was getting suspended for 3 games we would all be bitching and complaining about what a disadvantage that would be.
Well, I have to say, my hat's off to you. I didn't think it was even theoretically possible for a human being to be a bigger buffoon than Headhunter, but you've done it. You've achieved what once seemed impossible.

Now lets cement this fucking thing.
I'm so torn here....I want to calm you down but I appreciate the enthusiasm. It maaaaaaaaaaaaaaay be a bit of a stretch to say this is any version of a "perfect team". Perfect pitching staff? Yes sir. Next year, I just want to literally see a perfect pitching staff when Wheeler comes back. But a wee bit weak on D in the middle infield, no? Ideally we would be able to switch Grandy and Cespedes in the outfield....And Grandy has done a superb job but would be more "perfect" to have a SS or 2B that could lead off and Grandy could be up second, lineup gets shifted down etc...
Just nitpicking your enthusiastic opinion. No harm intended. But one thing that's true no matter what is that the team from the first half to now is insanely improved.
When? Over the last week or so? LOL. Im sorry, Ive been a little pre-occupied watching the greatest baseball team on planet earth. Sorry. I post on Giants threads plenty.

I mean there is no such thing as perfection. You will never achieve it. But as far as building a team within reality? Yes this is about as close as you can get to that kind of perfect. Especially with Mejia and Blevins in the pen right now, and Wheeler as our 5th starter. This is how a team should be built IMO. This is a SABR team. Power pitching, power closer, power hitting, and on base percentage. The lineup has a perfect balance of youth and vets. Veteran bench. Defensive versatility. lefty/righty balance. The Mets have the most talent in baseball and still have a loaded system filled with hitting prospects that haven't even arrived yet. Sorry. I don't care if that sounds homerish. They do.
Its average. That's the tradeoff. You can't have gold glovers at every position and have mashers at every position. You have to choose sometimes unless you expect two way MVP types at every spot which of course is ridiculous. We have CHOSEN to go with offense at SS and 2B. Thats the tradeoff. Im glad we have.
and again today is World Series Game 1 day so this is not any negativity, just baseball talk. The pitching and the closer are some sort of reward to Met fans for putting up with so many tough moments and years of crap. To have a bunch of pitching prospects is something that happens, and to have one...maybe two work out is something more rare. But to have 5 that literally are all beyond good. They have 4 number one aces and a possible 1A pitcher at the 5 slot. It's never even happened before. It's something out of a video game. Then to have a starter with an almost identical level of talent who just wasn't as sharp in later innings, so they move him to closer and he turns out to be a nearly unhittable pitcher in the 9th, is just the cherry on top. The staff and the closer can literally keep the Mets at some level of good or better for many seasons. It's fun.
Personally, if Duda was consistent Lucas and not streaky Lucas, and D'Arnaud continues to grow into a superb hitter at the catcher spot, then I'd trade some offense up the middle for speed and gloves. If you have a superior CF and then superb IF defense, it makes any team better. Everything else you said I agree with and I don't think describing the roster and why it is good has to be called homerish. If its true its true.
Just win tonight. If things go right, I think the Mets can be a team that makes the Royals look a lot less "special". Truth is, if the Mets pitchers pitch the way they can and have, they are the way better team/.
Isn't "the KC Royals do not strike out" different than "the KC Royals?
In other words, when media and fans talk about KC, they use the fact that they were the team with the lowest strike out total as a way of saying the Mets will not be able to strike them out or if they do, it will be rare at best.
But why don't people understand the difference between a full long ass season's total and a 7 game series against great pitching? Over the course of the season, the Royals were tough to strike out. Very tough. But this is a series. During the year they struck out one every 5-6 ab's. That is against lots of bad pitchers, bad teams, teams with bad staffs in 3 and 4 game series'.
They can strike out. They aren't immune to it. Especially not againt our guys.
as a pinch hitter off the bench he's infinitely more dangerous than anyone else we've got right now. Madsen in the 8th is their weak link and I'm sure we some of these games will be decided in later innings.
At home without the DH I feel we will have a huge edge over the Royals, especially given their starters in those games. Absolutely need to take 1 of these games in KC with Harvey/JdG on the mound.
If you want to come here and talk about the game it doesn't even matter to me who you root for as long as you don't act like these other people who want to fuck up everyone's night. FIne by me.

Tejada was the starting SS until the Utley slide so unless you're referring to him as offensive I'm not sure the operative word would be "CHOSEN".

Oh for God's sake. The Met's middle infield defense is not average. Murphy is a butcher and Flores has no range.

seriously fuck off. Not the time.
The Royals defensive advantages was well articulated in the Fangraphs
article. They get to a lot more balls out of the zone (believe they were 2nd in all of baseball) and the Mets were near the bottom of the league in that category. They were also pretty high in DRS and we were bottom half. Our defense is one of the reasons I expect their offense to give our starters a little more trouble than they've had to this point and why our offense absolutely must take advantage of what will be by the far the weakest group of starters they have faced so far in the post season.
can that be ruled an inside the park home run. At best it should be a double and a 2 base error. The ball hit him in the leg when he should have caught it, how do you give him an inside the park home run. It should be an error, but no way can it be an inside the park home run.
RE: Three up, three down....unprecedented perfection!
Gotta get the bats out and go to work. This team is going to grind out runs and put the ball in play with their aggressiveness. They are literally swinging at every FB.

Agreed, an absolute joke! How can anyone who's watched a baseball game score that an inside the park HR? Pathetic!

It's these little things that they have consistently capitalized on. Thankfully we limited the damage and save for a brainfart Harvey did his job. Let's get it back.

God you are such a little bitch.
That's your best retort? Do you really think either Murphy or Flores is average or above defensively?
I don't think I've ever known a bigger homer. It's hard to take anything you say about the Mets seriously.

Go to the metrics you fucking Neanderthal. They are actually both above average this year you fucking douchebag.
hopefully the message (wake up call) has been received. Cespedes certainly seems to have more urgency to him right now. The Royals have been loud and clear - they are going to be extremely aggressive. Got to get out ahead and get some runs on the board.
Also, did you guys see that the Royals said that supposedly Volquez does not know about the ESPN report re: his father's death? How on earth do you handle that?
And really shitty by FOX to just kick Smoltz and the play by guy to the curb for these 3 idiots. That's too bad the feed went out. But that means they lost the chance to broadcast. It's shitty to kick the international team out of the booth.
Do you really think Murphy and Flores are good defenders? Its a yes or no.
Right, Flores is clearly not a good defender. You got me there little guy. You can go back to watching My Little Pony now and leave the game to the adults.

Now it's good? I thought they weren't even average even though every metric on earth says they are. Just shut your fucking mouth. Your so stupid it hurts.
how Duda cant learn to hard bunt into this extreme shift.
But do you really want one of your he hitter bunting with a man on? One swing can be two runs quicklyy
I agree Steve. Personally I think Duda should bunt sporadically throughout the year to make the defense honest. It can only help him. But yeah, I agree with you.
this team is pesky. Flores has hit a lot of balls hard this post season that have not dropped in.
Flores was hitting like .300 coming in to tonight in the postseason Outside of Murphy, Flores has actually been our best hitter in the postseason surprisingly.
Even more in the legs/thighs/rear. They both generate just massive amounts of power from their base and have that additional upper body strength to put it all together.

Granderson too
I checked. Flores was outhitting Granderson too. Heading in to tonight anyway.
superior power hitting and power starting pitching, overall I'd say they're the more talented team.
But holy crap it really is amazing how well-rounded KC is. No team grinds harder. It's like night and day between the Royals and the Chicago Cubs who lived and died with the HR.
Very enjoyable game 1 so far, KC needs this more though. They can't lose a game like this (where it's about the bullpen) at Home.
The Mets have gotten around it because of Familia's ability to get regularly 4 or 5 outs, but they are playing with fire every time he comes in it seems
This game has been us playing their game. Every single thing they are supposed to be amazing at, we matched. Win this shit right now. Hit one out pleeeeeeeeeeeease.
is a weird team, they seem content to tie games and then let pitchers off the ropes. I think they just like playing baseball. Great game, I'm digging in for 15 innings.
But I put this game on Harvey. If you want to be an ACE you can't give those runs right back in the same inning
Royals are here for a reason, they deserve some credit for 4 hits and 2 runs off of Harvey. I'm not counting that bullshit can of corn called an inside the park HR.
People if we lose this game. It's 100 percent on Familia. 1000 percent actually. Fucking crushed us in the World fucking Series.
So we should overlook all the strike outs and shitty pitches the mets have swung at tonight? They've had multiples opportunities to break this game open and they've all been fucking terrible.

That's fucking ridiculous. Harvey pitched a good game. You're the fucking closer and you have the lead in the 9th. He has to fucking shut the door.
Do you expect closers never to give up runs?
The much more egregious mistake was Cespedes'.
In the fucking World Series??? Omg. Just please stop. I'm not saying the guy should commit suicide. It happens. But it can't happen in the World Series. It's on him if we lose.
I don't wanna hear shit about what happened already

Lol. All good. You got one of the best closers on planet earth, the entire point of the game is to get to the ninth with the lead. Ah whatever. Chris Young is exactly the kind of pitcher that will baffle us. This doesn't look good for us.

Yeah, I get it. It sucks. But it only tied the game and we had our chances tonight. I put more on Cespedes for his boneheaded play in the first and then disappearing for the rest of the game. He hasn't been anything special for a long time now. But, yeah, the familia blown save was a kick to the balls.

Even if we don't win, we wear out their strength. That Bullpen. Won't bode well for them if we go deeeeeeeeep into the series.
Well they've used a starter for the past 4 so it hasn't been that helpful unfortunately. Although I guess no CY in game 4 so that's good given how bad the Mets have looked vs him.

Would be a bummer for the Mets to lose after getting it to Familia, but at this point I feel like this is almost a must win for the Royals.
Yep. They've burned their game 4 starter and worn out their pen. Losing this would be a total disaster for them. The Mets are much better positioned to bounce back from a loss.
Need to win it tomorrow. Losing the game with the lead and the ball in Familia's hand in the 9th can't happen. He's not the reason why we lost, but he's the reason we didn't win.
These Royals acting like they just won the series.

Hoppefully thats the only celebration they will enjoy
I still think Harvey is the best pitcher if he's feeling it, but he just hasn't been "that guy" this season.
You guys will be the clear favorites in Game 2, just gotta hope that DeGrom is ready for the pressure/expectations of trying to keep his team's season from the brink.
RE: We got a pretty good look at these guys tonight
It's a bad loss, but we chewed up their bullpen and burned their game 4 starter. Harvey was tough, the pitchers were mostly really good, we paid for errors and runners left on base.
Bats need to warm up, tighten up in the field, and were ok.
Bigger win for them than loss for us. Would've been great to get the W though. Big missed opportunity. Don't get too many of those.

No offense. I'm rooting for you guys. But if that's not a heartbreaker I don't know what it is... especially given you were winning in the 9th.
RE: Leaving aside the richly deserved mocking of ZGiants.....
A bad loss. Two blown leads in four innings. Plenty of opportunities to take the lead again. started and ended (essentially) the game on bad plays in the field.
This one hurts and can be deflating to the losing team. Gotta come back to Citi 1-1 so the pressure is on us.

Don't know what to tell you. It's not a heartbreaker to me. It's a blown opportunity against a very good team. It's a seven game series. Not going to cry over it so early in the series :-/
It was a fight back and forth. Like a boxing match

Most of their BP guys only went an inning or two. Theyll all be available tomorrow. If Davis had gone two I would feel better about it but he didnt and they still got the W.

We battled, particularly against Herrera and got some hits off guys who were supposed to be shut down, too. Game 1 is a feeler. Come back and play again tomorrow.
Herrera isn't really going to be effective with the number of pitches thrown prior. Chris young is the clippard of SP, he will get his due. Still a chance to split in KC. Mets way better team after game 1, talent always prevail .
I agree with that completely. I just dont think the way they were used in a long game impacts the way theyll be used this series.
Now if we can get Cueto out early tomorrow, thats a different story. Then it might atart catching up.
Win tomorrow and you got the job you wanted done, going back to Citi 1-1.
I'm not really suggesting we fatigued them. We saw a lot of pitches and made them work though. We got looks, timing, contact. These guys are unfamiliar. Everyone here was fretting about "exposing" Familia early a series ago, and now here we've seen up their skirt completely in game 1. You all saw the batters measuring them in the batters box.
Meanwhile, we still have tomorrow to get that W we need here in KC and they have not encountered our strengths yet despite 15 innings. I'm bullish if the bats wake up. We played well enough to win and just well enough to lose.

Ahh, I gotcha. Sorry, misunderstood what you meant.
The Royals are a pain in the ass of a team. They shouldn't be as good as they are but they somehow make it work.
Richly? I think you mean UNPRECEDENTED!
Dude, you waited until the 10th inning to even comment on this thread. And you're going out of your way to shit on Mets fans parade because why? You did a good job of it in the Yanks vs Mets threads, so I guess you're nothing if not consistent.
Question - if you didn't come on this thread and comment at all, do you think your mother would love you any less? I don't think so. I think you've pretty much failed in that department regardless.
Here's some perspective - at midnight on a Tuesday night, you are sitting watching a thread about baseball that doesn't concern your team whatsoever, WAITING to call out people who cheer for a team that you don't even like. With that same time, you could have done numerous things:
1. Gotten a drink with a woman and still got home in time to watch the end of the game.
2. Read the news and/or watched an assortment of TV shows.
3. Gone to see a movie. I hear the new Tom Hanks one is pretty good.
4. Had a full-on Call of Duty game night/masturbation session that lasted hours while you stuffed your mouth with Cheetos, Yoohoo and stray loneliness-induced partial cum shots.
Instead, you came on to BBI, a Giants fansite, to talk shit to the fans of the undeniably #2 baseball team from New York while they're discussing their first World Series in 15 years.
You are pretty much the BBI equivalent of that obnoxious Redskins fan who would come on here and say "derp." Except I don't think he actively sat around waiting for the right moment to instigate - he just did it.
And to answer my own initial question - No, I don't think your mother could love you any less.

Look at these fuckin turds all run to this thread after the game. Holy shit it's nuts. Think of how sad it is...their boring ass team was just a practice run for the Astros and the hurt is so bad that they care this much about the Mets. WHy the holy hell do they care so much about the Mets? Is it like a secret love of the Mets that they dont want to share? Like in the closet Met fans.
The guy who made this extension deserves a ton of thank yous. One of them shows up? Bye. Its phenomenal. By the time I'm done adding all of this trash to the block list, I may start thinking Yankee fans are not so bad at all.

example of the species of Yankee fan that is from some random place and roots for a team that plays in the South Bronx, NYC? Born in Canada, roots for all the teams you'd think but somehow unfortunately attached himself to this football team instead of the usual Dallas Cowboys.

He's loving ever minute of this. What a sad person.
Aww. Thanks Phil. You and yours can go fuck yourselves too.
You ignorant piece of shit.
Isn't there an easy solution to this problem besides the block extension? For instance normally everyone is pretty willing to take crap from people but this guy is so out of control I can't imagine Eric sees this shit and thinks its ok. Guy is completely nuts and as bad a shit starter as Greg or Rasputin etc.. I don't bother ever complaining about people but this guy is over the top and out of line. SO fucking upset that his team laid down and bent over at home to the Astros that he has to spend weeks harrassing people and obsessing over a baseball team and its fans. At what point is it too much when every single Mets related thread has this lunatic posting a hundred times and fucking with people from behind a keyboard.
Heartbreaker, not a heartbreaker....why bother people who are already pissed off?
but I figured it wasn't fun when the Yankees had a chance to go into the playoffs, with a game at home and their SuperStar on the mound, went out like they were bored and didn't care enough to even score a run but no one here went onto that Yankee discussion to clarify if jerkoffs like Kulish were upset about it.
Yep. The truth is the Mets played a great game from the moment the OF decided to not catch the ball and allow a HR. They did everything that people go nuts about when talking about how great the Royals are. They were aggressive on first or second pitch strikes that caught a lot of plate. They extended at bats when he got a little wild. They stole bases, played very good D, scored the go ahead run with some small ball and put balls in play in general. This game can be taken two ways. I mean no matter what it's a brutal way to lose when your superior closer gives up a hr after not giving one up or blowing a save for 3 months. Between that and the lack of hits with RISP and even the occasional strikeout with a man on third and less than 2 outs, that killed us.
But even so, we still had the fucking game. Harv was great without his best stuff. He threw all his pitches well. Had one bad inning. However they also played the Royals game and almost beat them at it.
Really need to just win this game and ideally the next 2 no matter what. If they take one on the road, that's the idea. Should be going into game 5 2-2 at worst. I have confidence in the ace tonight. And the lineup should be confident they can have some solid ABs and get hits with RISP tonight. Sucks ass but get this one.

I didn't know the asylum allowed the patients Internet access in the middle of the night. Live and learn I guess.
In the future if you find me on BBI getting involved on a thread on a team I have no rooting interest in and it is late at night, please have me committed the following day to an Institution as this proves I lost my mind and or my life has no real meaning anymore and would be better off removed from society
a Yankee fan would be doing on a Met World Series thread that went well past midnight on Tuesday night.
I mean, we all know Greg is here to monitor the tone and choice of words used by Mets fans to keep us in check and let us know that our flawed team is playing well above its head, nothing more!

By this line of thought, there should never be a Super Bowl thread that doesn't involve the Giants.
1.) Having a young rotation with our age/power combination is UNPRECEDENTED in today's game. TRUE. And there are about 167 articles on the internet right now saying exactly that. We have the hardest throwing staff in baseball. This isn't up for contention. Nobody's saying this is the best rotation of all time but from a talent/age standpoint- its extremely extremely, extremely rare.
2.) Familia is ONE OF THE BEST closers in the game. Apparently that is a joke to Yankee fans also. LOL.
Looks like he was, overall, pretty accurate about this team. They are probably a year ahead of schedule, now playing in the World Series. Knocked off 2 of the best pitchers going and a 97 win ballclub from the best division in baseball to get here.
You gotta wonder what

Well that's terrible comparison. It's a Giants board, we're Giant fans here.
Your analogy would work better if they started posting on a Seahawks website after Wilson threw the interception.

Not really. Being that this is a Giants site, there wouldn't be any fans of either team in the thread. No one is likely to have an emotional connection to one or the other besides being pretty much unified in rooting against a team (e.g., Philly, Dallas, etc.). Here, that's clearly not the case. There appear to be a few people trying to get a rise out of others (and succeeding).

I don't disagree with this
But this is the World Series we're talking about.
There are game threads for just about every major championship game/series on these boards. When Rangers were in the SC finals in 2014, it wasn't just Ranger fans posting. There were fans of many teams posting.
To suggest that Yankee fans can't/shouldn't post because the Mets are involved is really asinine.

Totally different argument, imo. We are all Giants fans, so a Super Bowl thread without the Giants in it won't have any emotional ties. Who would care if someone makes fun of another quarterback for a poor game.
It is similar to the hockey threads. I am an Islander fan, but I had no interest in posting in the Rangers thread after they were eliminated by Tampa.
But I stay away from game threads like these anyway. I can't multi-task. I am unable to bite my nails watching the Mets, and post at the same time.
Anyway, here's hoping deGrom pitches a gem and the Mets get to Cueto early so they can wipe the bad taste of last night's game.
RE: RE: I'm a Yankee fan. I've stayed off most baseball threads all year,
If you go back and read what I was writing during the game itself (IOW, the things aside from mocking the hell out of the spluttering jackass), it's nothing inflammatory, just the observations of a huge baseball fan with only a minor rooting interest.

Well, since this isn't a Mets board, no, it's nothing like that.
Not trying to get into an argument. I am still bummed and tired about last night.
But put it this way, I doubt you were very eager to hear from hockey fans -- who were also Islanders fans -- after the Rangers lost to LA in the finals.
yankee fans and other baseball fans should be able to post and talk

If people come in to talk about the game, there's obviously nothing wrong with that. Trolling or gloating is shitty regardless of the teams involved.

And yet hear from them we did. Shit happens.
Of course it does. But it doesn't change the fact you expressed how pissed off you were about it at that moment, just as Mets fans are expressing it now.
I could give a fuck if the loser constantly posts his trollish comments but when others respond and it starts fucking up the thread. Well. A troll is a troll. Get rid of the loser so maybe he'll step outside from his pathetic existence.
If you can't behave yourself, I'll go back to strictly enforcing it.
This is just stupid. There are much, much worse issues in other threads. Hell, there is worse in almost every game day thread. Also almost every Mets thread involving Mets fans only going after each other. Yet you find Yankees/Mets to be so far over the line, in comparison with other threads, that there has to be special rules? Come on now. Open your eyes. This conduct happens in a ton of threads now. It is the norm.
does yeomen's work on here so anything he says 100% goes with me but I will say I think individuals being warned/banned from posting on a thread seems better than banning all Yankee fans etc. I say that admittedly as someone who doesn't partake in most IGT's and someone who feels comfortable ignoring clear troll jobs. I don't know what Kulish said/did (nor do I really care) but I think we can all get along.
Stopped in to read everyone's thoughts on the game and this thread basically reminded me why I've mostly decided to stop posting.
Tough loss last night. Really tough. You tell me the ball is in Familia's hands with a 1 run lead and 2 out in the bottom of the 9th with no one on and I've already got one arm raised to celebrate. Just wasn't our night.
So many frustrating aspects. Michael Cuddyer getting 3 AB's in spots where we desperately needed a hit and not even being able to put the ball in play made me want to rip my hair out. Not being able to even put together a threat against Chris Young in extras. I am assuming Uribe was not available otherwise I'm at a loss there.
Really rough night for Wright. Especially up with 2 men on and 2 out against Madson who he's been able to hit quite a bit throughout his career. Madson was petrified and we let him off the hook.
Lagares almost won us the game by himself. He deserves a start in CF against Cueto who has struggled against RHB. Slide Cespedes over to LF, DH Conforto and please.. for the love of god, leave Cuddyer planted on the fucking bench.
Davis is their best BP arm and looked the part. We just couldn't figure him out. Duffy doesn't scare me and I felt like we had some really good cuts on Herrera.
We HAVE to jump on Cueto early tonight. He got stomped his last time out. Build a lead, get a strong 7 out of Jake and knot this thing up. I have the utmost faith that we will go back to Citi 1-1. Just frustrating we let that get away last night.
Clippard is still a major concern. I'd really consider making Reed the SU man if deGrom goes 7 and exits with a lead.
Felt like a major gut punch to lose that game but it's just 1 game. We can bounce back. Enjoy the game, y'all. LGM!
Wow, ZGiants relax buddy, it is just one game. You must be a real thrill to watch Giants games with.
All along everyone said they would take a split in KC, we just have to do it the hard way now. We have our Ace on the bump, hopefully Lagares in the line up, and our bats find a way to get timely hits.
Watching the Mets during the run...Im very happy for all of you Mets fans...
I hope they take it all...
Good Luck Guys!
Ill break out my old Mets t-shirt for good luck!
That is what I thought they'd do.

Haha. Enjoy squirming in your seat with every pitch, troll.

Quote:
it would be damn near our team exactly.
Now lets cement this fucking thing.

They do.
Born and raised a Mets fan in NY.
I would never, ever root for the Dodgers.
If you believe in patterns, Juan Uribe won the WS in 2005 and 2010. Now Mets put him on their 2015 World Series roster.
FIne by me.

Yes, I am. 5 tool player hitting cleanup, I expect a little more. Perhaps you didn't see his performance in games #4 and #5 of the ALDS.
Nope. People make out a lot. Odds are against them. Pretty silly to get annoyed about it.
I think his arm is fine

Really? Does mlb rely on Fox solely for replays? Mlb network isn't recording this shit? I honestly don't know. That was bizarre.
Thanks.

Now it's back to that douche Joe Buck, his pube beard, clueless Harold and schmutz.

Hell yea Wilmah!!!!!!
NICE PLAY!
You're annoying as fuck.
Do you really think Murphy and Flores are good defenders? Its a yes or no.
what are we talking about here? Like last game at Citi? Come onnnnn
We are playing a fantastic game. Just need that inning with 2 or 3 runs or more. Pad it for Harv.

Right, Flores is clearly not a good defender. You got me there little guy. You can go back to watching My Little Pony now and leave the game to the adults.

I agree Steve. Personally I think Duda should bunt sporadically throughout the year to make the defense honest. It can only help him. But yeah, I agree with you.
LETS GO! Get some more.
fucker
Wilmer unlucky there.
Beezer : 8:55 pm : link : reply
This is how it goes.
Volquez vulnerable.
Harvey will solidify.
...
Let's go!!!!!
Flores was hitting like .300 coming in to tonight in the postseason Outside of Murphy, Flores has actually been our best hitter in the postseason surprisingly.
Wilmer unlucky there.
Even more in the legs/thighs/rear. They both generate just massive amounts of power from their base and have that additional upper body strength to put it all together.
Quote:
this team is pesky. Flores has hit a lot of balls hard this post season that have not dropped in.

Pretty standard move by Collins
😃
Unfortunately in a 9 out game with our starter reeling they have the advantage. On paper. Lets hope otherwise in reality.
Mike Moustakus needs a different nickname then. Moose = Mike Mussina. And no, I am certainly not a Yankee fan.
And infuriating that a chump with a 7+ ERA isn't being smacked around.
Everyone knew the fastball was coming. Just unreal to watch that. He wasn't going to walk him.

yeah, What the fuck ius that
But holy crap it really is amazing how well-rounded KC is. No team grinds harder. It's like night and day between the Royals and the Chicago Cubs who lived and died with the HR.
Very enjoyable game 1 so far, KC needs this more though. They can't lose a game like this (where it's about the bullpen) at Home.
With everyone rested TC likely with a shorter leash

Kinda yeah? But maybe let Reed go first for an at bat
Cuddled would be a nice coach
Shut it down.
It's not clear to me why he's on the roster.
Yup. Was just thinking that.
Reed has to be the 8th inning man
Dumb move, but I'll take it
Cause he's a fucking team player
Did Robles pitch at all in the postseason?
He's one of their better hitters, IMO he needs to be attempting to drive in the run in that spot. But I'm glad he wasn't
Woah. Come on now. Lets not say anything we cant take back.

He was looking walk, didn't expect Young to throw him a strike. I didn't expect it either.
He's had a couple hits in this game. So sit him cause he couldn't get a hot in an extra inning?

sure, guy did have 2 hits tonight, but I guess you want them to put Cuddyer in there...smh

Would be a bummer for the Mets to lose after getting it to Familia, but at this point I feel like this is almost a must win for the Royals.

But you are throwing fire, sir.
Couldnt even dial it up when he needed to. Sounds like conditions were damp, hoping that was the reason.

Heartbreaker, not a heartbreaker....why bother people who are already pissed off?
Last night was just a tough loss.
deGrom Day ... time to buck up, little fellas!
Trolling a game thread at 1:30am on a Tues nite. This is a cry for help. It's amazingly sad.
Headhunter
I mean, we all know Greg is here to monitor the tone and choice of words used by Mets fans to keep us in check and let us know that our flawed team is playing well above its head, nothing more!
Kulish is just an asshole.
Don't take it out on me that ZGiants is a blithering idiot. Not my fault.

Don't take it out on me that ZGiants is a blithering idiot. Not my fault.
Hey now...it's not unpossible. It's UNPRECEDENTED!

Don't devalue the vested interest some of us have in your guys losing.

Well, since this isn't a Mets board, no, it's nothing like that.

It's definitely not fans of the same team discussing a different team.

Not trying to get into an argument. I am still bummed and tired about last night.
But put it this way, I doubt you were very eager to hear from hockey fans -- who were also Islanders fans -- after the Rangers lost to LA in the finals.
but some of them are being real cunts and putting on a clinic for what it's like to be a pathetic loser.
Everyone's on to your game here. You aren't fooling anyone.
And yet hear from them we did. Shit happens.

You take that back right now.

If people come in to talk about the game, there's obviously nothing wrong with that. Trolling or gloating is shitty regardless of the teams involved.

Of course it does. But it doesn't change the fact you expressed how pissed off you were about it at that moment, just as Mets fans are expressing it now.

Its not you. Its a certain troll starting with a K that ruins game threads
Ha! As much as I hate your smarmy, Braves infused baseball posts, that made me chuckle.

Agreed. But then the comments should be directed at those posters, and not at Yankee fans as a whole, no?

The post you cited before was targeted at two people if read in full context. Only one of the two appeared to actually be trolling though.
Can you ban a single person just for one thread?
Or is it the fate of the finite duration (aka a concrete fuck you-ban)??
This is just stupid. There are much, much worse issues in other threads. Hell, there is worse in almost every game day thread. Also almost every Mets thread involving Mets fans only going after each other. Yet you find Yankees/Mets to be so far over the line, in comparison with other threads, that there has to be special rules? Come on now. Open your eyes. This conduct happens in a ton of threads now. It is the norm.
It's kind of small to begrudge them posting on a WS thread.
LGM!
All along everyone said they would take a split in KC, we just have to do it the hard way now. We have our Ace on the bump, hopefully Lagares in the line up, and our bats find a way to get timely hits.
Win tonight and all is well...
