and we are still undermanned with Amukamara, Cruz, JPP, Beatty not suiting up.
Can the team squeak out one more win to buy a little more time until the reinforcements start returning?
Not looking too far ahead, but the Bucs WR corps took some big hits on Sunday.
But a win would be huge. Absolutely huge. Cowboys play Seahawks this weak...a win for us, loss for them would really put them behind the 8 ball and almost finish them. A win also means we could very realistically expect a win the following week. That would put us at 6-3 with Prince Beatty JPP and Cruz expected back.
No guarantee of course but 6-3 with talent like that coming back I don't think anyone is catching us.
Of course, teh NFL is such that every week you can paint the game critical.. But this week it really is from a positive stand point because I don't think a loss dooms us while a win does a lot of positive things
....Brees will shred this Giants defense..I've no doubt
.....but Eli given time to throw down field, could put up 40 points.
I think it is that simple.
This is how I see it too, hopeful though ...
I recall when the 49ers played the Saints in 2012 at the Dome they relied on their sick pass rush to force the picks. It almost seemed that whenever they didn't get home he was able to make a play. It was a down season for the Saints, but Brees and Co were still capable of putting it up against the Niners that day.
The last two seasons with noticeably less pass rush they were able to pick him off with pattern matching coverage schemes. Mostly this came from LBs and Safeties, not so much corners.
All 3 games at the Superdome.
Brees still has a bit of a gun slinger mentality that can be taken advantage of.

Would like to see us keep ramping up the ground game too. Eli will have more time if they have to respect/worry more about the run.
...how will our mediocre offense answer with our WRs nursing hammys and a not-great run game?
Would anyone on this site be surprised if the score ends up N.O. 34 - Giants 14?
If, yes, wake up from your deep slumber.
Like the Giants chances. This is a winnable game. The Saints are living off the reputation of being one of the formidable teams in the league. Coughlin will help McAdoo craft a gameplan that attacks the Saints inside on running plays and to the sidelines on passes. Then when Ryan leaves the middle vacated, I think the post game will open too.
7 Saints missed practice today, including 2 members of their o-line. Lewis is iffy with a hip at CB. Giants.
