after seeing dwayne harris and remembering the last return we ha was dave wilson in 2012 i thought about this.
a few come to mind dixon, megett, hixon, and wilson
some others brian mitchell, darius reynaud, and i guess for fun jason sehorn were not too good at returning the rock.
Who do you think was the best as a returner ?
Freddie Mitchell looked great against the Eagles ;)
Anyway, I'm going Dave Meggett.
^^^ right here. The most fearless punt returner ever. LIke PEEJ said he never had a fair catch. He would catch that ball and would get blasted.
That being said, I think Meggett had more of a spectacular career returning kicks.
It's too bad Dixon wasn't such a dipshit and hurt his knee. Loved the promise he showed.
Never saw Tunnell so have to go with Meggett as fucked up as he is.
David Wilson was the Giants best kick returner EVER? REALLY?!?
Man that has to be the stupidest thing i have read on any forum anywhere ever.
Yeah he was fearless but I don't see that as making him the best at returning the ball.
At least we got to see what he could do during his amazing KO returns. It was a good pick gone bad. I hope he has a great career doing something a lot safer.
Clarence Childs was a really good kickoff returner. His stride made it look like he could accelerate through a hole at any time.
Wilson could have been the best if he played a couple of more years.
Meggett was a very good punt returner. His kickoff returns were not as memorable.
He was consistent and never fumbled. Yes
Leon Bright - I remember one hit he took, I believe it was against Dallas. I don't remember the exact details, he either got leveled before the ball got to him, or it was a rare fair catch that the Dallas player ran right threw him. Nasty hit, a youtube search came up with nothing.
Dixon for kicks
only because he's my cousin
but speaking of Jason Sehorn. I sat two seats from him at the Eagles x Panthers game Sunday night. very cool guy.
Meggett was still my favorite

Has to be Dave Meggett. And to not choose him because of his personal issues is like someone asking the question of who was the best linebacker or RB in Giants history and not choosing Lawrence Taylor or Tiki Barber.

ex-Canadian football player who never fair caught a punt

Always said Leon's middle name was "Not Too"
And who took one of the most vicious hits I've ever seen on a return (I think it was Detroit, 1982).
I recall Ron Dixon as not being a very good returner, and was often in Jim Fassel's dog house for not reading coverage or following blocks, his primary instinct was to run diagonally in a straight line. He was incredibly fast, as his two returns in the 2000 post season attest, but he never realized his full potential (that is true for him as a receiver as well.)
Meggett was actually somewhat of weapon when the Giants had a good team but didn't score all that much...
Kick returner - I think Harris will end up being the best, but right now there's no one that really stands out like meggett on punts. In modern times, Wilson and Ponder both had solid seasons in 2012 and 2004 respectively.
Hixon had an opportunity to be the best but ST while he was here sucked, and of course, the knee.
Giants were really awful 1-13, he got lots of opportunity to return kick offs
speaking of x-ray his grandson is a junior safety at USC who could end up a giant like his grandpop
