What do you see him doing?
Rising to the top and overtaking the starting role?
Flash in the pan and we've seen his best?
Somewhere in between?
Personally, after watching the Giants for years some guys just have an "it" factor. This is completely non-scientific and only based on a feeling. Ahmad Bradshaw had it. I think Darkwa has it. We'll see.
Go Giants!
he may not be the fastest, strongest, smartest, or best hands, but he is the most solid all around back. He seems to have great vision he was finding holes shad and everyone else wasn't. Plus when he ran over Greg hardy like a bowling pin, that was cool. i hope he gets more of a chance near mid field or up. He seems like he has good balance and vision. I remember against St. Louis he bounced off like 3 guys. Darkwa = energizer bunny keeps on moving, the marshawn lynch of tulane.
I can see how a RB with an injury his senior year would drop off the draft boards, but he didn't catch on with his first NFL team, so that makes me wonder a bit.
I just loved watching that drive when he scored the touchdown. He was just carrying people. I can see how that may not show up in practice and maybe he just needed a shot on the field to show what his talents are. I hope that's it.

He ran a 4.45 at his pro day. So, he is pretty damn fast.
37.5 vertical
5'11' 215
The guy has great athleticism
which compares favorably to Morris Day's 4.80 forty and 7.02 cone.

One site says his 40 yard dash range at the combine was 4.36 to 4.56, and his official time was 4.46. That's pretty fast!
A 37 inch vertical is pretty sick.
A 37 inch vertical is pretty sick.
David Wilson had a 41 in vertical, and a 132 in broad jump, both at the real combine where measurements are typically more conservative than athletes' pro days...
Give him 5-10 carries vs the Saints and see what he can do
It would be great if one of the backs really performed and could be a featured back
He sure did look good 4 carries in a row the other day. Definitely brought back Bradshaw memories...
Umm Joeeeeey... you imagined anyone nuts enough to be reading or writing here didn't know that?
PLAYING RUNNING BACK
Rising to the top and overtaking the starting role?
UNLIKELY BUT NOT OUT OF QUESTION WITH OUR ROTATION
Flash in the pan and we've seen his best?
8 CARRIES FOR 48 YARDS IS A TOUGH SAMPLE SIZE TO MEASURE A FUTURE CAREER. I WILL GO WITH "NO, WE HAVE NOT SEEN HIS BEST" TO PLAY THE OPTIMIST
Somewhere in between?

I don't think it's accurate to describe Jennings as a high-priced free agent. He wasn't guaranteed a dime this season, and the Giants would have achieved a net cap savings by cutting him - in just his second year. Even Vereen isn't "high-priced" by any reasonable definition, although he was obviously a roster lock for this year. I wouldn't even say Vereen is "in front of" Darkwa. SV has a specific role as the third-down back. The other three guys are competing for snaps in other down-and-distance situations.
Is Williams really a "coach's favorite"? His recent snap counts don't suggest that. The staff obviously likes the fact that he never fumbles. That's a very likable trait.
WRT your contention that Darkwa "never got a real look", he had more preseason carries - by far - than the three guys ahead of him on the depth chart. That's an imperfect metric, obviously, but it's all we've really got. None of us have a clue about whom the coaches did or didn't look at in camp, or what they saw in the process. I don't imagine Darkwa got many first-team reps; how could he? On-field practice time is scarce, so the priority is to get the incumbent starters ready, not to hold auditions for young running backs. The staff saw enough from Darkwa to carry four running backs rather than expose him to waivers. That suggests he was looked at enough over the past two seasons to make an impression, and to gradually earn playing time.
It's no doubt the Giants are loaded at the running back position. Williams may get better as he matures. Lord knows he's a load. But right now when Darkwa is on the field the offense moves. It stagnates when Williams comes in because he's not been a threat out of the backfield and teams key on him because the know all he is in there for is to run the ball.

What's with the mention of his smarts in that comment "he may not be the fastest, strongest, smartest..."? Do you know something we don't know? Please share.
when the season kicked off, the team went with the more tried crew, and as the tried turned out not so true, they tried OD.
he'll get more carries. he has to set the world on fire to become the main guy in the RBBC (which I think is what TC seems to be dedicated to).
Don't particularly like the RBBC. I'm guessing the practice snaps are shared like the game snaps are. means the OL and any given RB have fewer chances to develop chemistry. hopefully, OD can be a guy who has a knack for what this OL does.
I'm pretty sure that's Darth Maul
That said, I like the little I saw from Darkwa a lot. Tom should give the young man 1/2 the offensive snaps this weekend.
Have to find out if Darkwa is a receiving threat. He's not worth as much if he's one dimensional as is Williams.
Also, can he block???
