I remember Joey's arrival on Letters to the Editor, coming out swinging. And it just occurred to me that given how many arguments Joey has gotten into over the years and how many arguments I've gotten into over the years, I can't recall any arguments that we've had with each other. Not a one. Which is kind of odd given both our personalities.

And, met some people that piss off others on the Net, but are fun to be with in person. Many of those aren't around any more.
What Research?
TDexperiment : 11/10/2015 11:53 pm : link
My research was to see if this thing we call destiny or what physicists call superdeterminism was true or not.

From 2000-2012 I conducted an experiment at Temptdestiny.com for football fans from all 32 NFL teams to compete for their team by voting for them to be on the next Tempt Destiny billboard I create. Some of you here may have indeed taken part of this activity back in the day. Without getting into technical details by voting for your team fans helped me to confirm that reality is indeed superdeterministic which also revealed that the scientific method is fundamentally flawed. I kid you not.

Someone recently asked me if there are any other experiments like mine that accounted for the first cause variables of direct and indirect selection which are necessary to conduct any and all experiments. I had to answer, I don't know.

So here's the deal, I am giving away $1200 limited edition print sets to five individuals who did the most searches on the internet for the keyword phrases "direct selection" "indirect selection" by December 23, 2015. Before I get this out to the general public, I am making this "Search For First Cause" project known to football fans first. In fact, I have designated two print sets just for football fans as my way of saying thanks.

BTW - A BBI fan (BamaBish?) created the "autovote" script that got things going.

that Eric has such a loyal fan base after all these years. Despite negative comments from a few of its members, I would also find it cool if a BBI member wound up winning one of the NY Giants Super Bowl Commemorative LE prints I am giving away.

As for those who do not have a clue as to the significance of the Tempt Destiny experiment findings, at the TemptDestiny.com home page you will find the Final Selection Thought Experiment for those who wish to contest the findings directly with the source. As you will find opinions, including my own, are irrelevant when it comes to Nature.

Someone recently ask if would be doing another billboard for the Giants? It appears BBI members will be happy to know that I will not be doing another billboard for the NY Giants as requested by the NY Giants ownership.

I'm angry all the time. Especially at fucking douchebags who litter the board with continual trash similar to the "vote for a banner" threads while the team is marching towards a Super Bowl.

And then to do it in the supposed name of science? Christ, that site is abhorrent in its logic. I only have a rudimentarey knowledge of science, but as an engineer, I know a lot about the process and the expiremental method and for somebody conducting a supposed experiment, that is simply a trainwreck.

I'm saying you are an annoying fuckstick who continually posted threads asking fans to vote for a ridiculous banner. The fact that you did it intentionally and supposedly in the name of science is even shittier.

People probably voted hoping you'd go away and stay away. They were apparently sorely mistaken.

TDexperiment : 11/11/2015 9:13 am : link
After the 3rd billboard I did in support of the NYG, I wanted to confirm with them that if their fans won another billboard for their team that they would accept this gift. I was assured this would be the case. So when Giants fans won another billboard for their team, the NYG organization quickly rejected their gift of support. When asked by a reporter why they did so, I suggested they ask the NY Giants themselves.

What began with the NY Giants has ended with the NY Giants. This is as it should be.

The finding are invalid because of a myriad of errors. I won't even go into issues like sample sizes or verification of results (i.e - confirming independent "votes" instead of one person voting 2,000 times). I'll just address the hogwash posted below:

Quote:
This all began innocently enough when I created artwork to support the NY Giants Super Bowl quest for SB XXI and SB XXV. The paintings reproduce on these billboards were incomplete so that if the team went on to win the SB I would then complete the artwork by painting the football silver to reflect the trophy won. The completed artwork was then reproduced as the NFL licensed NY Giants Super Bowl Commemorative Series limited edition prints. As history shows, each time this cause and effect event took place the NY Giants went on to win the SB, a 2-for-2 track record. The stage was now set to see if this 2-for-2 track record was about luck or was it destiny, i.e., predetermined event or series of events or what physicists call superdeterminism.

That isn't cause and effect. It also isn't an exercise in destiny. Also, this is also bullshit from a scientific point of view:

Quote:
From 2000-2012 football fans voted 24/7 online each year to have their team on the next Tempt Destiny billboard in support of their team's SB bid. The team with the most votes would determine the team selected – ACT. However, the team selected also needed to compete in the SB in order for the selection to come into existence – POTENTIAL.

There is no correlation between the Act and the Potential. The vote didn't impact the result and your findings don't even prove anything. I think out of 15 years, only twice did the team with the most votes win the SB. That isn't disproving science, it is proving luck.

Look - I'd like to spend a lot of time discrediting even more of the shit spewed on that site, but frankly, I already did this years ago when trying to get your ass to stop posting spam all over BBI. I'd actually like for real BBI scientists to slam this because I hate the fact that some moron has a website with such a flawed scientific findings that an engineer can blow holes in it.

You are so confused you even make up your own fantasies. Nonetheless, if your opinions of reality (logic and science) are true then conduct the Final Selection Thought Experiment in real life to show everyone that the findings are false.

It is one thing to express uneducated opinions, it is quite another to back them up. I designed the thought experiment for those who have the capacity to think it through to its logical conclusion and for those without such capacity, such as yourself, to put your money where your mouth is.

Do not fear FatMan, everyone knows you do not have the integrity to support your own opinions and so you do not need to make excuses in order to not conduct the thought experiment in real life. Your argument is with nature, not with me.

How To Contest The Tempt Destiny Experiment Results

To test if the acts of selection are indeed fundamental laws of Nature and not merely cognitive acts, we can contest the findings in real life as follows:

Ho - If the two acts of selection are not necessary for your existence then you can safely conduct the Final Selection Thought Experiment in real life and continue your existence.

Ha - If the two acts of selection are necessary for your existence then you cannot conduct the Final Selection Thought Experiment in real life in order to continue your existence.

Final Selection Thought Experiment:

Let's say that one morning upon awakening you find yourself in a world that is absent of the ability to choose, e.g., completely paralyzed. This means you cannot choose to move your body whatsoever. You cannot choose to take in any fluids. You cannot choose to take in any nourishment. You cannot choose to relieve yourself, et cetera. Nor can you have others indirectly choose for you. The outcome is absolute. The effect of a physical system to no longer have the capacity to make direct selections is certain death.

The assumption that selection is some sort of option, a freedom of will, is unsubstantiated by the fact that this predetermined mechanism we call choice is how energy works which is a fundamental necessity, not a metaphysical or cognitive option, of our physical existence. In other words, when the origin variables of selection come to exist, energy exists, for they are one and the same. As the thought experiment illustrates, we have the ability to choose because we do not have the option to not choose in order to exist.

And to think this all came about by supporting the NY Giants!
HA!

There's that word - integrity again. You keep using it, but seem to not know what it means. Similar to the idea of proper experimentation.

Experimentation aside, my argument isn't with Nature it is with some fuckstick spamming a message board to vote on a banner over and over again.

To me, it seems like TemptDestiny.com is less about science, and more about trying to sell shitty artwork from Manual Morales.

If my findings are in error, it will be amongst my peers to be found out. Since the findings are unambiguous, they are incontestable and so they have stood the test.

Last week I created the basketball example for grade school children as a teaching aid of what the Tempt Destiny findings show and how it affects the current scientific methods of using effects as a substitute for ignorance of cause. If a researcher receives 20 or so views of his research in a week that is considered to be substantial activity. As you can see, the interest in my work has escalated exponentially.

Money where my mouth is? By how, buying a shitty Manuel Morales painting?

Integrity would be not creating a pseudo-science site that is a sham for the purpose of promoting a starving artist's works.

Let me boil it down for you - there is no value to doing thought experimentation the way you've described. It is not a valid experiment for many reasons.

So, your challenge was for me to waste time on a flawed project? Challenge not accepted!

People have their papers listed there and it's a good way to request reprints. There is no peer review and there is no peer criticism. There is a pseudo ranking based on hits and citations (going forward). In and of itself, Resarch Gate is meaningless. LinkedIn with less cv and more bibliography and no relationship to job openings.

If you actually read what this was all about the perhaps you would have not said, "Another year the billboard shit didn't work. So your experiment worked what 2 out of 15 times?"

I realized this is out of your league for even a five year old can understand that you cannot choose what cannot be chosen. In other words, a fan cannot support his team's Super Bowl quest (act) if they do not go to the big game (potential). The act of selection is a dichotomy in that BOTH elements (act+potential) need to simultaneously exist for either to exist. This is what the Tempt Destiny experiment showed time and time again (see link).

"Let me boil it down to you simply - your "experiment" has proved nothing. To put it more broadly, it has proved, zilch, nada, zero, squadoosh."

Since you do not know what omitted-variable bias means to an experiment, allow me to clue you in. It means your experiment is BOGUS because you failed to include the variables that caused the effects observed in the experiment, e.g., the scientific method of using false-positive data.

In 2012, CERN claimed they found the elusive Higgs boson they had been looking for the past 50 years. When I applied my findings to particle physics I found that by using the scientific method they had made an EPIC omission error. They have no idea which selection event caused the particle collision which caused the product decay they used as evidence for their discovery. The multibillion dollar Large Hadron Collider was solely built to detect effects, not the cause of the effects detected - BIG MISTAKE! (see peer-reviewed "Assumed Higgs" article)

In January of this year a CERN physicist confirmed my findings.

And to think, this all came about by supporting the NY Giants!

When it comes to Nature opinions are worthless and that is what the Final Selection Thought Experiment was designed to address. Either Nature is indeed absolutely deterministic or it is not. I invite all to test for themselves if their opinions to the contrary of the unambiguous empirical evidence obtained is false or not.

I once asked a five year old child if she knew what an experiment was. She replied, "To test something".

I then asked her if she could do an experiment without first choosing to do so? She looked at me puzzled, and then replied with a sharp tone of sarcasm, "Of course not. What kind of stupid question is that?"

If find it surprising that even a five year old child realizes how illogical (or stupid as she stated) it would be to think otherwise. If one's logic is based on effects causing effects then one is blind to cause and effect. As the findings show science is about learning from nature and then from others, not the other way around. Yet, here we are...

Allow me to make this as concise as possible:

Conduct an experiment without first making a selection.

Make a calculation without first making a selection.

Continue your existence on this planet without making a selection.

If anyone here cannot, then perhaps the clarity of a five year is needed in order for science to be about nature instead of our opinions of nature. As the unambiguous empirical has shown, energy and the two acts of selection are one and the same.

So if the FatMan is "dead-on target" then why is he afraid to put his money where his mouth is? Even a five year old knows better than this.
Getting closer..

By the way - my money and my mouth firmly believe you are insane AND full of shit. And not by cause and effect.

Like any madman, you keep arguing you've proved something that you haven't. Writing a paper or creating a website doesn't make what you've done legitimate, nor does using absolute terms to declare you've proven something.

I bet even a 5-year old child could tell you that.

Any answer to an investigation (question) without unambiguous (non-statistical) empirical evidence is nothing more than a speculation. And if you use statistical data to support a speculation, you are still left with a speculation, i.e., scientific method.

No matter who made this selection, fans or myself, the results have always been the same. Another question that bothers me is why is this billboard phenomenon tied exclusively to the NY Giants? Since Super Bowl XXI and after 12 years and 32 unique potential selections, why has a direct selection ONLY been for the NY Giants?

I cannot find no scientific explanation for this.

You are correct about statistical sampling being "gobbledygook". The protocol of current predictive scientific methods uses repetition (sampling) to establish causality. As the findings show, the two acts of selection which are NECESSARY to conduct any and all experiments (cause), are not singular. This means that statistical sampling is unavoidably based on omitted-variable bias which can only obtain false-positive data regardless of repetition.

ANY method that uses prediction (guess) to establish validity of a theory/hypotheses (guess) can only obtain an assumption (guess).

However, if sampling is your measure of validity then chew on this sample: There has NEVER been or EVER will be an experiment conducted without a selection first being made... NEVER!

Kicker, you should not comment on what it is you do not know. For researchers to cite my findings they need to prove them wrong, in order to avoid embarrassment, or adopt them in their research. No one can prove my findings wrong because they are based on reality, not statistical inference or conjecture.

This brings me to why I am giving away the NY Giants Super Bowl LE print set to the football fan who conducts the most keyword searches by December 23, 2015. So far one Giants fan has sent me her preliminary findings. Out of 11,600,000 search results, she found only one document at Google Scholar with BOTH keywords "direct selection experiment" and "indirect selection experiment". I have not reviewed the document so I cannot confirm the context of how these two terms were used.

Please let me know in advance when you will put your money (life) where your mouth is by conducting the experiment in real life. You are incorrect. This was all about repeating what had been done before and in the process of doing so, confirm the mechanics of HOW the acts of selection come to exist and its corresponding effects. Correlation does not imply causation yet that is exactly what the scientific method uses for its validity.

So, how can you prove that the unobserveds in your experiment (the error terms) are unrelated to attributes about the samples that you have selected?

I can provide the requisite math for you if you need to see what I'm talking about.

Why does:

Correction, science based on the existence of effects necessitates sample size for its inquiry. As the findings show, the acts of selection can ONLY come into existence when an act pairs with its potential after which we can only observe its effect. It is impossible to apply "sample selection bias" to something that cannot preexist as the evidence has shown eleven out of twelve Tempt Destiny direct selection attempts.

If objects of scale and locality are fundamental constructs of our physical reality then how can such logic be correct if it cannot answer the following question:

How much does a direct or indirect selection weigh, what are their scales, and where was the mutually exclusive selection variable you just used to read these words located when you used it?

What this means is that the logic we use to perceive reality is based on the existence of effects causing the existence of effects which says nothing about how effects come to exist. Simply put, we perceive reality ass backwards. Science and the logic it is based on is erroneous if it is not reflective of reality in its entirety. We think that Nature needs to conform to our logic when it is our own mindset that has prevented us from learning how Nature works. Turns out the world is not flat after all... just our thinking.

FatMan in Charlotte : 11/16/2015 1:24 pm : link

As nonsensical as the ramblings on the website. Batshit crazy.

A distance.

His "theories" conflate science, nature and religion, but I think at the core he suffers from a delusion disorder (delusions of grandeur - supported by his constant appeals to authority) - if I were a gambling man, I would put most of my money down on a bipolar disorder, but with a small hedge on schizophrenia.

His attempts at creative expression, weak as they are, tilt me in favor of bipolar.

Researchers from NASA, CERN, Los Alamos National Laboratory, NOAA, MIT, Berkely, Harvard, and far to many others to list have been reviewing my findings. Since they are absolute/complete, they are not contestable, a.k.a., the Final Selection Thought Experiment.

And to think this all came about by supporting the NY Giants Super Bowl quest. Tempt Destiny Experiment Results - ( New Window )

Reviewing them is one thing, trying to claim this validates them is something completely different. You would know this if you actually have the scientific self-taught pedigree you claim.

Who has come out and said (besides your own idiotic link you keep posting that proves nothing) these results are proof of anything? Come on put your money where your mouth is, unless of course your a "coward"?

for one of you to show everyone that the findings are false. That is all it will take, just one of you brilliant individuals to show Nature how special you truly are.

Until then, eat crow.
OK, I will admit that you are slightly clever.

You have made statements with as many nooks and crannies as a Thomas' English muffin, and as much substance as cotton candy.

I admit it. I wouldn't have the slightest idea how to go about proving or disproving such nonsense, because the statements just make no sense on their face.

I guess that means you win, but I am not sure what it is you win.

You continue to run from the question, WHO HAS backed your findings? You throw the word "coward" around, yet it is only you who has run repeatedly when asked to supply verification. If you don't have any, just be a man and say so

It is impossible to disprove something that has never been proven. To me that is apparently his strategy hidden within a bunch of nonsensical claims and verbage

WHO HAS backed your findings?

Funny, I stopped keeping track for they are constantly increasing and since my findings are universal it crosses into particle physics - biology - economics - cosmology, etc. But since you have a hard-on about who are in agreement with my findings, I'll give one of the ones that I value since it relates directly with the first application of my findings to the field of particle physics regarding the recent Higgs boson discovery.

For the Higgs boson discovery to be valid, particle collisions must take place without a selection event first being made in order for there to be no omitted-variable bias. When CERN physicist, Adam Jacholkowski, was challenged to prove if such an event could indeed take place, he responded:

"@ Manuel You write, "...to prevent the particle beams from intersecting in order to prevent the selection events from happening. If you still have collision effects then the two acts of selection did not cause the particle collision effects and you would have proven my findings invalid." OK, but this is something we are doing routinely when the beam is lost accidentally, when testing the apparatus without beam (noise study), when collecting cosmics in our apparatus for the calibration purpose (alignment), when there is only one circulating beam in the accelerator (for beam-gas background study) etc. In all these cases we do not see any event of interest from the physics point of view that is we do not observe any kind of collisions. So what is your conclusion in this case?"

My response, "You have validated my findings". As confirmed by physicist Adam Jacholkowsk, particle collision experiments cannot take place without the selection event of two particle beams intersecting. In conclusion, by not accounting for which type of mutually exclusive selection event (direct or indirect) caused the particle collision effects, by scientific standards, a discovery cannot be made or founded on omitted-variable bias.

Bottom line, if the Tempt Destiny findings are not based on reality then it does not matter who backs them for only Nature has the final say... you know, as in the Final Selection Thought Experiment. The findings need to answer to Nature, not man.

If you cant keep track of all those commending you regarding this why is it so hard to actually show those in support of it?
Everytime you make claims like these without the actual verification of support, you appear to be full of shit. Throwing around grandiose claims that have nothing to support them illustrates the duplicity of what you are doing.

I hope you put your silliness away for a moment and realize that the only reason you are still on this board is because the whole board finds you amusing in a weird way. It is not often we get to view such apparent horseshit that allows us to see the mind of the delusional.

This really is Terrance Howard like. The dude thinks he's found a new scientific discovery that can be universally applied. Hell, instead of Einstein, our next generations will idolize Manuel Morales.

I just wonder if the genius he has in science will be diminished because of his shitty artwork?
