Everyone needs to click on this link and then click on Pete's Corner. Lots of familiar names and some great posters that have moved on. I remember this ugly ass web page like it was yesterday!
The best time for me was when BBIers were going up to Albany for training camp. I went 3 times. Met some really good people, including especially the late Hope.
And, met some people that piss off others on the Net, but are fun to be with in person. Many of those aren't around any more.
My research was to see if this thing we call destiny or what physicists call superdeterminism was true or not.
From 2000-2012 I conducted an experiment at Temptdestiny.com for football fans from all 32 NFL teams to compete for their team by voting for them to be on the next Tempt Destiny billboard I create. Some of you here may have indeed taken part of this activity back in the day. Without getting into technical details by voting for your team fans helped me to confirm that reality is indeed superdeterministic which also revealed that the scientific method is fundamentally flawed. I kid you not.
Someone recently asked me if there are any other experiments like mine that accounted for the first cause variables of direct and indirect selection which are necessary to conduct any and all experiments. I had to answer, I don't know.
So here's the deal, I am giving away $1200 limited edition print sets to five individuals who did the most searches on the internet for the keyword phrases "direct selection" "indirect selection" by December 23, 2015. Before I get this out to the general public, I am making this "Search For First Cause" project known to football fans first. In fact, I have designated two print sets just for football fans as my way of saying thanks.
BTW - A BBI fan (BamaBish?) created the "autovote" script that got things going.
Been a regular lurker, seldom poster since 95-96 before it was BBI. Best fan based website on the Internet. Thank you Eric, from a fellow Binghamtonian.
Never posted much, but I thought I died and went to heaven when I found this site. There was actually intelligent football discussions going on, and I learned much about the game.
It's been fun watching the site grow and change. Thanks to Eric, Pete and the knowledgeable posters during the formative years.
I do remember hooking up my modem, dialing into AOL, and looking up the keyboard "bigblueinteractive" on the finder as soon as the "You've Got Mail" greeting came up.
was more annoying than the "Cheap jersey, good quality" dudes.
That Tempt Destiny shit was plastered on here like trent with Tourette's, but instead of asking the % of fans of one team at a game, it was constantly posting about voting for a stupid billboard.
I think someone named Adrienne (?) had a site and Eric was doing the game previews and reviews and then I migrated to Eric. Am I dreaming??
Jay, you are not dreaming - I remember that name, and I think it goes back before the www. My memory is that she ran a Usenet group that I used to access through Gopher. Hmm. Maybe I'm dreaming now.
that Eric has such a loyal fan base after all these years. Despite negative comments from a few of its members, I would also find it cool if a BBI member wound up winning one of the NY Giants Super Bowl Commemorative LE prints I am giving away.
As for those who do not have a clue as to the significance of the Tempt Destiny experiment findings, at the TemptDestiny.com home page you will find the Final Selection Thought Experiment for those who wish to contest the findings directly with the source. As you will find opinions, including my own, are irrelevant when it comes to Nature.
Someone recently ask if would be doing another billboard for the Giants? It appears BBI members will be happy to know that I will not be doing another billboard for the NY Giants as requested by the NY Giants ownership.
Without getting into technical details by voting for your team fans helped me to confirm that reality is indeed superdeterministic which also revealed that the scientific method is fundamentally flawed
of really flawed stuff about "science" on that site, but this was my favorite part!

NY GIANTS Respectfully Decline Billboard Gift
January 23, 2012: The NY Giants organization had respectfully declined the Tempt Destiny billboard gift and advised that their decision is final. Since the Giants organization has decline this gift of support from their fans, we did not create a Tempt Destiny billboard for the 2011 season.
Why would a "supposed" fan be so angry about other fans wanting to support their team by simply voting them? Why would you find fans acting as they choose offensive?

Because you spammed the ever-living fuck out of this website. The anger was directed at you and your behavior.
Around 2000 I joined, dont really remember exactly
I'm angry all the time. Especially at fucking douchebags who litter the board with continual trash similar to the "vote for a banner" threads while the team is marching towards a Super Bowl.
And then to do it in the supposed name of science? Christ, that site is abhorrent in its logic. I only have a rudimentarey knowledge of science, but as an engineer, I know a lot about the process and the expiremental method and for somebody conducting a supposed experiment, that is simply a trainwreck.

Facinating! Are you saying that I personally pretended to be all of those here who wanted to vote for their team?
I'm saying you are an annoying fuckstick who continually posted threads asking fans to vote for a ridiculous banner. The fact that you did it intentionally and supposedly in the name of science is even shittier.
People probably voted hoping you'd go away and stay away. They were apparently sorely mistaken.

Touchdowns?

He's the fake scientist, right?
The real experiment is to see whether anyone can be convinced as to the veracity of this gobbledygook.
Went to camp in 2003 and met Hope and a few others. She introduced me to Strahan at the bar one night and I was like a giddy little girl all night.
...1998 or so. Original handle was JonS.
Went to the Super Bowl vs the Ravens in Tampa. Met Hope, A-Train, Rocky Thompson and CVA. A few others who I don't remember names.
Rocky you banned again!

So, probably 2011?

I am sure Eric can clear this up and put a year to it.

Even the Giants knew this guy is full of shit.

I lost my original handle in the big server crash in around 2004.. changed my handle, through Eric a few times since then...
