With “fans” like these, who needs enemies? Just minutes after VVictor Cruz announced on that he would need season-ending calf surgery, the Twitter tough guys emerged from their slumber to began heckling the Giants wideout for his latest injury. Cruz was not having it. So he put the haters on display for the world to see. “What a waste! Paid big $$$ to do squat this season. He, Beason and Beatty all should be cut after the season #madeofglass” one message retweeted by Cruz read. Cruz responded to some of his haters, too. “you not built for this game anymore bro. Thanks for the one ring tho,” the fan tweeted. Cruz quoted the troll and asked, “Because you know me right? Smh.” He was also mocked for his appearance in HBO’s “Ballers,” with one fan saying that he hopes he gets better because he has Cruz in his fantasy acting league. Another called him out for his “bulls--t” salsa dancing. The hate wasn’t limited to fans either. Jimmy Traina, a writer for Fox Sports, tweeted “At least Victor Cruz never missed a fashion show, talk show appearance or awards event in NYC.” Cruz responded, “I’ve actually missed quite a few. But you know everything right? Because you know me." Toward the end of the public-shaming session, Cruz tweeted out a thank you to fans who are still supporting him. “Thank you to the real fans that understand how difficult this is and have faith in me and wish me a full recovery,” the tweet said. "Still #BigBlue4ever #TheReturn still lives.” |
Yup. I'd like to see those punks try to rehab from Cruz's knee injury
freeing up huge cap room
we can pick up some very good free agents next year
Either way, hes a restructure in the offseason or he will indeed be cut by the Giants.
Cruz has no one to blame but himself for this stuff. if you want to use Twitter then you'd better expect this kind of feedback.
but his second year when he was amazing he was making vet minimum
so it all evens out

Nicks and Cruz are great examples of why I never criticize players for trying to maximize their income.
Nicks and Cruz are great examples of why I never criticize players for trying to maximize their income.
They are also both examples of why a team should think twice about giving out multi-year, high-priced contracts to any player. All contracts should have low guarantees, and be incentive-based, in my opinion. But I certainly understand why the NFLPA and their constituents don't want that.
Get well soon #80

That's a good point as well. I think NFL players have it the worst relative to the other big four sports. I do think the NFL allows for the quickest 'price and value' discrepancy convergence, though (i.e., you seldom have guys underperforming their contracts for years and vice versa - at least to the degrees found in sports with guaranteed contracts and longer time frames until hitting free agency).
I don't think he'll quit.
Stay strong bro, stay strong.
Suerte!
He has Cruz in his fantasy acting league, that was funny.
C'mon Victor, they're Giant's fans, smartest fans in the NFL. Don't believe me, just ask them.
We'll be cruzin' next year babe.
Maybe you should start 5 threads on the subject.
I'm sure Cruz is really worried about your concerns.
Why put yourself through that shit? Anonymity brings out the worst in mankind.

Agreed

Yeah personal attacks from losers hiding behind a keyboard are HILARIOUS!!
"You don't know me!!!"
lol
Vic should ignore assholes. It comes with the territory.
You are an asshole. Go away. You pollute the board with every idiotic thought that crosses your pea-brained head.
And the people saying it here defend that line of thinking because they are "fans" and are entitled to say that if they wish.
He plays pro football and gets hurt, what a pussy.
Plus..he has a big contract and hasn't played in over a year. Not buying the lawsuit stuff.

all these overpaid "Stars" are going to have to accept JPP money or sit on the couch forever
He gets 900K per tackle....
freeing up huge cap room

Ya to be honest there is Upside for the Giants in 2016. Cruz will have to restructure no doubt or be cut and fight for a roster spot in camp next year.
You've got Nicks, who knows what that means.
These banged up stars, maybe whats happening with these folks is they are more backups now... they will have to be priced that way at some point, Beason's and Beatty's are not going to happen for the Giants... which may mean Prince is a goner.
