NFL statement on Rams' QB Case Keenum: "Promptly after the conclusion of yesterday’s game, we began a review to determine the facts of the injury to St. Louis quarterback Case Keenum and why he was not removed from the game for the necessary evaluation by a team physician or the unaffiliated neuro-trauma consultant as required by our concussion protocols. We are continuing that review today, which includes discussions with the Rams and their medical staff, the ATC spotter, the game officials, our medical advisors and the NFLPA. In the meantime, prior to this week’s games, we will reinforce with all involved the need to ensure that these injuries are properly identified and addressed in a manner consistent with our protocols." |
Reminded me of Brian Westbrook and the eagles.
If so, they royally effed up too (shocker!)
The fact he affected decisions on rules and competition is a head-scratcher. He's been a disciple of dirty play from Day 1.

NFL people never turn on each other unless there's a colossal reason to. The same reason the owners don't oust known scumbags like Danny Snyder. Jeff Fisher will keep getting work because he's well entrenched in the good old boy's network despite 6 winning seasons in 21 years.
This guy has had a run of mediocrity that is unparalleled among NFL head coaches.
I guess making one Super Bowl, and winning a handful of playoff berths can carry a guy for a long time in the league.
....and if I hear one more time how respected he is by other coaches, I may vomit.

This. The NFL needs to also look into it's own spotters who are supposed to radio down to the officials if they suspect a player has a concussion.
In this case it was pretty obvious that it was a concussion- and it isn't like it was a hit away from the ball..he was sacked. Were the spotters upstairs taking a nap?
There was a play earlier this year in a Giants game where it looked like Beckham started to head towards the wrong sideline after a play where he was hit hard. And he stayed in too. What cameras see and what people on the field see can be tough, especially when you have 22 players out there.
Where the hell was that guy on that play?
I saw Keenum take that hit, and immediately felt sorry for him. The other thing that crossed my mind was what a complete scumbag Fisher is. OK, I'm not advocating ever putting in a concussed player, but Keenum isn't much better than the next guy on the list. It's not like you're sending a dinged up Peyton Manning out to play. Just goes to show what little regard Fisher has for player safety.

Gross.
Good point. This seems fitting
We just need Greg Williams in there.

The refs can't even determine what a catch is. How are they going to make medical evaluations?
