I'm sick of the Pats and their fans and as a Giants fan, I've had the great satisfaction of seeing Belichick and Brady twice beaten in the Super Bowl. Can you imagine what a fucking pain in the ass it must to loose to these guys year in and year out?
Folks say the Pats are "lucky" to play in their division. Ah...all the other teams have had 14 years to draft way ahead of a perpetual playoff winning way down in each round ...7 times last or second from last draft slot. For over a decade. So every other team in their division has at least a six slot advantage almost every draft.
I dunno...maybe Belichek and Brady are just plain tremendous at their jobs.
It's silly to deny how great Belichick and Brady are...
They are always the best prepared and hardest working team. Pats are ridiculously good as an organization. Probably be studied in biz school and sports coaching school forever.
But its equally silly to say that this isn't an incredibly lucky team. I mean, its un-fucking-canny. C'mon, they miss a kick with under a minute - after dropping two passes - one of which should have been a TD. And then Brady makes 'em pay.
Not saying they are great - but they are also unbelievably lucky. I guess luck really is the residue of hard work.

Regardless of where those teams drafted, it isn't difficult to argue that all the other teams in the AFC East have sucked for the most part over the last 10-15 years.

Bill. Not saying I disagree. But I would also contend that there have been more than a few FAs who didn't feel like playing the Pats two times a year as part of an AFC East team - despite money from other teams being close or equal.
It's been a long long time. Many injuries and many different ways and schemes and strategies. Often missing talent at key positions....yet so often they win.
Maybe the explanation is that there is a lot of luck in the game of inches for every team. That luck falls over time on everyone. The trend and the record of excellence is amazing
