Can Giants win after a bye?

Fanfrom76 : 11/24/2015 11:57 am
It seems the Giants have difficulty after a bye week getting back into a winning mode. This game is a must win for them. With two of their starting linemen out (I believe), will they be able to score and keep the ball away from their opponent?

I'm rooting for a big win, 35 to 17. Despite the title, I'm optimistic.
They do?

• Coughlin-coached teams after the bye: Coughlin's teams have gone a combined 12-7 after their bye week. Coughlin was 5-3 after the bye during his time as the head coach of the Jaguars.

after Thanksgiving?
I think they're gonna play with a lot of spirit

I think the team sees that they have a tremendous opportunity in front of them, considering how piss poor their division rivals continue to be and how they're getting a little healthy finally.

As one poster just alluded to, I actually agree.. I think a Thanksgiving hangover is more of an issue than the bye this time around.

As of late, we're surprisingly good after the bye.

We're actually 5-1 the last six years, only losing in 2014.

we are approaching the Holiday Season and the Giants are going to be playing meaningful football games. To quote Tom Coughlin, we will have a meaningful December, and it is the most wonderful time of the year!
The Giants have had some of their best games coming off the bye under

Coughlin. Including blowout wins @ Seattle (twice) and probably their best game since the Super Bowl in 2011, when they blew out Green Bay.

When did they win @ Seattle? Don't remember this happening. Only time I remember blowing them out was in 2008 at home.
This was a thread for the Fassel Era,

I made one mistake, one blowout was at Giants Stadium (when Carr came off the bench in garbage time and threw TDs to Sinorice Moss). But the Giants also beat them 41-7 in Seattle in 2010. The Giants were actually up 35-0 at the half and 41-0 in the 3rd quarter. And it represented Sage Rosenfels lone Giants in game action.

They beat the shit out of Seattle 44-7 in Pete Carroll's first year with the Seahawks in Seattle.
This just goes to show..

Oh, yes. Good ol' Charlie Whitehurst was their QB if I remember correctly.

Could it be mudbear?
They've always done fairly well during
Simms11 : 11/24/2015 3:05 pm : link
the first half of the season under TC. The achilles heel has always been the last portion of the schedule. It appears that they've also done fairly well in the post-bye game, but it's been the second half schedule that TC has never done too well. The exception was I think in 2011 when they got hot at the end of the season to propel them to the playoffs and another championship. My hope is that they can recapture that magic, however, I think a lot of that will depend on the defense and the running game now. This week will be very tough sledding against a pretty stout Washington defense, without our Center and LG perhaps! Let's hope Eli and the rest of the team come out playing like they haven't been to the playoffs in 3 years.

Or that some fans are so apt to look negatively at the Giants that they make up their own facts?
Please, keep that dork Cousins in check

I rather not hear him screaming "You Like That" ever again. The only people whou should be shouting that are the Giants players after every hit on the Redskins.
Sorry, i'm wrong

I guess I'm getting old, my memory of wins after the bye is all wrong. However, that makes me all that more happy. Happy post Thanksgiving to all. Giants will win Sunday (they do play Sunday, right? ;-)
