a few years ago. But DirecTV lured me in with Sunday Ticket and I have to say I've been very happy with their service. They give free weekends of HBO + Showtime all the time, and the flirty customer service rep even gave me 3 months of free Playboy TV. I'm sure once my bill skyrockets next year I'll be singing another tune though.
and have no problem with them other than the fact that I have to switch to SD every time it rains to get closed captioning when I'm watching with my kids.
The problem I have is with AT&T. I bought the package with Internet and phones and their customer service is the worst since Sweeny Todd. I've threatened several times to cancel the whole package but DirectV keeps giving me stuff. I got free MLB, am still getting free movie channels until the end of the year ( which will be 6 months instead of 3) gave me the next package up so I can watch National Geographic Wild ( nothing like a leopard kill before bed) and my girl can watch My Little Pony ( that AppleJack is always getting into trouble).
If you can allow for the phone time, AT&T being completely inept is worth the freebites but I wouldn't do it again.
Okay Matt... I am here to serve.
