Bringing one my nephews and two other younger kids to NYC in a couple weeks to do all the tourist things for christmas, they are ages 6, 7, 10. 2 of them have never been to NYC before so it will be an experience for them. Trying to think of where to go for dinner, any themed restaurants or anything like that worth taking them to?
we go to Carmines every year if we can get in. Obviously touristy, but it's good and we think of it as a NY experience.
if you can't get reservations at Carmines, we've gone to the Virgils in times square and also not themed, but decent food and kid friendly.
people have often recommended Ellen's Stardust Diner to us, not sure how kid friendly it is, but we've never gone.

Rolf's - ( New Window )
Rolf's is a great place to visit, but the food is terrible. And, I love German food. Stop in for the hot mulled wine, but go somewhere else to eat.
Havent been, but hear good things about Eataly. If the kids are adventurous eaters, I'd go get stuff you dont have where you live. My in-laws come in from northern MN once a year and like getting Thai, Indian, regional Chinese, and Spanish food.
Does Radio City Music Hall still put on their Christmas shows? If so that might be something good to take them to.
Max Brenner is really good but it's pretty straight forward "not fun". You will enjoy it but not sure it fits Mook's needs
Sugar factory is obnoxious, but awesome at the same time. I went to the one in Vegas, didn't even know there was one in NYC.
You could also consider taking them to Dylan's Candy Bar for dessert. They have a chocolate fountain you can get various candy and dip them in or ice cream, and other treats. the kids loved it.
