Washington CB Chris Culliver tears ACL and MCL in practice.

Big Blue Blogger : 11/26/2015 7:24 pm
Not to celebrate an injury, but could this Thanksgiving Day possibly have broken better for the Giants?
Nfl.com on Culliver - ( New Window )
Now it's the Giants turn to take advantage of what they've been given.

Hope they do it.
The good news for Culliver is...

Yes, it could have

Richburg and Pugh could be healthy for Sunday. I still have hope for Richburg, but I think Pugh is absolutely out.

I feel bad for Romo. As many times as he pulled off last second heroics against the Giants, you had to respect him and his grit.

I will take no pleasure in the losses for Dallas and Philly today, but will look forward to the opportunity the Giants have on Sunday.

It is the most wonderful time of the year!
WTF is a Chris Culliver?

Eli and OBJ would have raped him or his replacement eitherway.

We're in bad shape on the OL for this game.
No excuses.

No Pugh or Richburg I assume. Next man, or men in this case, up. Jerry and Reynolds will have to get it done. I have faith. Hart may see some snaps if we use six OL on a few plays.

Really sorry for Culliver.

Agreed. The silver lining is that at least we have veterans who have been on the team for both years of the McAdoo system so we shouldn't see mental breakdowns.

Bad thing is we may not be able to run!

Hoping Richburg is good enough to go at least!

I'm wondering if Pugh is still hurting tomorrow whether we will hear noise about the IR for him?

The giants aren't a running team no matter how much coughlin tries to force it. This will be the beckham/harris/nicks show on sunday if they can at least pass block.

But you know what Eric, for one game or so we actually have decent depth for once.
I thought I read somewhere that Richburg was already rules out

DC the big winners today as their Cowboys games ...
Boy Cord : 11/26/2015 7:53 pm : link
... just got easier. Sunday is so big it's not even funny. Gmen need to be two up + tie break and step on DC's throat.
Unless Coughlin has indicated Richburg's not playing
BlackLight : 11/26/2015 7:53 pm : link
then he can't be "officially" ruled out until tomorrow afternoon.
Please disregard

My posts on Richburg being rules out. It's an old twitter post. My apologies for the confusion.

Running is not our "bread & butter" on offense but we do try to run. If we are "stuffed" for no yards and become one dimensional it is that much easier for the Skins to make plays on Eli.

This team is far from invincible. However, if it is best for the long term I say sit both Pugh and Richburg for another week. This assumes Pugh can even come back this year - the news on him scares me.

My pick is still the same, Giants 24-23 over Skins in a fist fight.
We put a near stranglehold on the division with a win Sunday

Cowoys are dead.

Eagles are an endangered species on life support.

That's from November 3rd.

Tweeted earlier today that Richburg is out. I haven't seen anyone else tweet that so I'm not sure how accurate it is.

C Weston Richburg did not practice today. Has high ankle sprain. Won't play Sunday vs. Redskins.
Giants are going to need to
Emil : 11/26/2015 10:45 pm : link
establish some sort of running game on Sunday. I think Orleans Darkwa needs the majority of the carries with Jennings spelling him. Darkwa is the most complete back the Giants have, and can make something out of nothing.

Stay out of long yardage situations, use the short passing game, and take some shots off play action. No Pugh and no Richburg is going to hurt. A discipline game plan is key.
I think Vereen
Big Rick in FL : 11/26/2015 11:09 pm : link
Is the most complete RB that we have. Averaging 4.2 YPC this year, very good blocker & a great receiver.

The problem is everybody knows what we are doing when we put certain RBs in. Darkwa, Jennings or Williams are in & they know we are running. Vereen in the know it's a pass.

IMO they need to have Vereen in for half the snaps. Keep the defense guessing. No RB is going to get hot when he gets 2 touches & sits on the bench for a quarter or more.

Vereen is the guy who can keep the defense off balance. You can run it inside or off tackle. Throw him a screen pass, wheel route or split him out wide. Also could keep him in to protect Eli & take a deep shot to Odell.

That's going to be tough without Pugh and Richburg
Culliver is guaranteed $8 million next season.
