Sometimes the Giants like to use the Bank of Eli to create cap room. Reese can do that because Eli is almost never injured. But Dallas can't do that with Romo because they might have to eat the last 2, possibly 3 years of Romo's deal with him not on the field (retired due to injuries or unable to physically play anymore)
But I have no hate for Romo. He's a very good QB and I hated seeing him go down again today. I feel bad for the guy.
I'm with you. He's a good guy, who is a talented but flawed QB. He's too good for that shitty organization ran by that egomaniac. Hopefully Jones will trade for Johnny Football and allow Romo to go off to a contender.
a bit over-rated, but never want to see a guy's season end because of an injury. That said, doesn't make me feel sorry for the Cowboys. We've had our share of injuries too!
You do have to wonder if he's going to give the Cowboys any more healthy seasons. These are serious injuries he's suffered in recent years, and football players don't suddenly become more durable as they age - quite the opposite.
The Cowboys have a lot of issues going forward: Romo's health, the running back position, Witten's age, the OL's regression this year, re-signing or replacing Greg Hardy (clearly a ticking time bomb), and Jerry Jones reverting back to some bad team-building habits. They're very much in "win now" mode and may have missed their chance last season.
That's a good point about the draft pick. I don't think the Cowboys are gonna win another game. 3-13 might get them the first pick and a franchise reboot.
Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk reported Romo "most likely" has a small fracture of his clavicle, although the quarterback would undergo a CT scan on Friday to make sure.
but I don't make a point to feel awful for anyone else, so I don't for a chief rival QB. He's a good dude and a great QB. That's about it. It's good for the GMen. Then its good by me
ever since the draft. Johnny Football would be a marketing godsend for Jones. And he fits the "I can turn around troubled players" mantra of that team.
I think they push hard to get him...If I were the Browns, I'd make them give up their 1st round choice. If it's not in the top 10, I think Dallas does that trade.
Goff and hope he's the real deal. Jerry's been looking for a long term solution at QB and now is his chance.
As long as they don't get Connor Cook I'll be pleased...I think Cook is the one franchise QB in this draft. Possibly Hackenberg but he's going through what David Carr did, just on the college level and he might be shell shocked
But I have no hate for Romo. He's a very good QB and I hated seeing him go down again today. I feel bad for the guy.
I used to HATE Romo when he was younger ... had that little smirk that made you just want to smack it off the side of his face.
But, over the years (with the back injuries and surgeries ... as well as other health problems) he has proven to be a warrior and a lot tougher than I first gave him credit for.
Not saying I like him ... but, at this point I respect him.
My niece worked for him for a year and said he was one of the nicest, most down to earth athletes she's ever been around. She really liked him. He worked his butt off against long odds to get where he is.
Yep injuries are junk

But as one of the faces of the Cowboys, I feel nothing but joy for every bad thing that ever happens to him
Francesa all but guaranteed a cowboys victory today.

Even if he takes the USC job the team needs picks

It's always better to play winning football. A winning culture trumps a better draft position.
Kaepernick makes no sense for the Cows but does for the Iggles if Chip doesn't bail

I'd lose the rest of the games there too.

Pro bowl RB and WR
Another good WR
Good Olineman
Destroyed a 10 win team
The Defense is cracking big time
Yup Chip your a genius.

Long term as in "post Romo".

That was just sad.
Don't want to see anyone get hurt, but I hate the rat faced mother fucker
In his post game press conference Romo was impressive.
The way Romo looked the last two weeks, they are better off with Cassel.
I'll save the hero worship. This is Dallas saving face with their fan base after they were embarrassed off the field today.
Eli and Favre laugh at such a scratch. Carry on.
Denver, Buffalo, and Houston are all teams that could use him next season.
The skins will fuck up, they're not that good
