Philly area NYG fans - does yesterday change your view

jcn56 : 11/27/2015 10:52 am
of Kelly's job security in Philly? Some of those players outright quit on him (see that Vine of Lane Johnson standing around on one play while it unfolds around him as the most obvious proof).

I know you guys have thought given the investment they made in him and the time spent acquiring players for his system that he'd get at least next year to straighten things out, but I'm not sure you can keep the guy around if people are visibly mailing it in. Any differences of opinion today?
I agree with those

who think he is gone after this season. I think Laurie and Kelly will decide to move on from one another after this season. The players have obviously quit on him as you could see with Murray as well. There was one play in the first half where Murray had a decent sized hole up the middle but the Lions LB dove at him and just lightly touched his leg and Murray just went down. This is a play he clearly wouldn't have been stopped last season.
But if we played them Next week they would still beat us

Sad but true
I don't think they fire him

Unless there is a total meltdown - which could happen. He has a huge ego and is not a player's coach. Players will toe the line when things are going well, but are more likely to mail it in when they are not.

The Eagles issue are more about the offense than the defense. Kelly's system depends on making first downs and scoring points. They have had way too many three and outs and that has killed the defense.

I agree with Jay that the Eagles may tell him that it is OK for him to seek another job. I have to believe that the USC job would be attractive to him - and a better fit.
We don't know the most important question: How is his

relationship with Laurie..

Too, how many times on here have some reasoned posters claimed the players quit on TC (which I never believed)?

So in short, no idea
My view has not changed

I thought Eagles fans were some of the biggest douchebags on earth before yesterday's game, and they still are today.

Philly is ugly when they turn on you--and it is getting ugly

I live in Philly area and listen to sports talk a lot here. With a complete meltdown the rest of the year Chip may be gone period. But with some semblance of a respectable finish, and evidence that the team is battling again for him, he will likely get another year from Lurie. BUT everyone seems to think he was give too much control on personnel too early and that he completely screwed up this team. This is attributed in part to his arrogant belief that he can plug anyone into his system and the brilliance if his system will make it work. Bradford trade seen as a bust. Trade of Shady McCoy for Alonso seen as a mistake. For whatever reason (and a lot of that may have to do with deterioration of the OL--also due in part to Chip Kelly's decisions) Murray has been a shocking disaster this year. So if Chip comes back the buzz seems to be Lurie will take back personnel control and place it elsewhere. If
Chip Kelly balks there could conceivably be a mutual parting of the ways and he ends up with a sweet college deal with USC LSU or Texas (among other possible safe landings).

I disagree. Philly is a dumpster fire right now.

Where's there's smoke there's fire and again, Philly is a mushroom cloud of dumpster fire. Kelly is outta here. How often does a coach stay when all signals and rumors say he's leaving? Every single time.
I should say never

He's gone. Bet everything on it.
I think there's a good chance...

He leaves, but I have a very hard time imagining Lurie firing him and eating all that money. Not his MO.
Kelly will probably quit
MetsAreBack : 11/27/2015 12:52 pm : link
LSU and USC will back up the brinx for him
I don't think Kelly will quit

And I am not from Philly, but I try to read the local papers online of our NFC east rivals, and my thoughts are that the Eagles might actually fire Kelly. The owner was walking around with the old GM who when he stripped him of power let him hang around. I really do respect Kelly and any outcome that has him leave the building and put Roseman back in charge is a win for us. So, let's hope for that outcome.
