I'm looking at out team Statistics for 2015 so far and......

EVERY4YEARS : 11/27/2015 11:44 am
A few things jump out at me

1- We trail opponents in just about every category conceivable except-

-Turnovers +13
-Eli Manning 2700 yds 21 TDs and only 6 INTs
-Points vs Points allowed- 273-253 (this is a key indicator of continued success)
- we have stopped the run very well all year

In every other statistical category we trail our 2015 opponents game by game

Not to mention we lead the league in last minute Brain Farts

with a 5-5 we have nothing really to hang our hat on as a superior team

Vegas now has us at 7th best NFL team with an 18-1 shot at the trophy. I have us as one of the 3 top teams- NE, Carolina, and The Giants.....all 3 candidates for the Lombardi

My personal opinion is that we have made all the last minute tactical mistakes a team could make so that should stop
Our Defense is getting to the opponent QBs now
Eli is our rock upon which to build- in every game he seems to be the best QB on the field in every game we play

Here is where I would like to see improvement-
- Hand Darkwa the ball and lets see if he's as good as he appears to be....we need to up the rushing game
- Work Nicks in and use him
- Work on the screen play, really get very good at it.
- Continue to blitz creatively as we have lately shown
- continue to throw downfield as we have lately as early on teams were putting 8-9 in the box and we were not stretching the field

I told you guys last week to stop the nonsense Dallas talk and respect Carolina

The only team that can stop the Giants now is our own complacency should the team take their foot off the gas

This team has grown as the season has gone on. We have 25-50% improvement possibility and I don't think there is another NFL team that can say this....hypotheticslly we could be 9-1 right now. This coming game will be indicative.

We should crush the Skins....will we?

PS- Josh Brown, Dwayne Harris, and Brad Wing have been terrific and that does not show up in these stats.

What are you smoking?
"we could be 9-1 right now"

I almost choked on my TUrket last night when Nantz started to expound on what the Cowboys record SHOULD have been had Romo been healthy. They were in this game, they were in that game, they could have beaten this team, and that team. This loss was on Cassell, that loss was on Wheeden. That loss was on the defense.

Woulda. Coulda.

yes but those 4 losses were victories firmly in our grasp had we just tactically made the right calls....they were not physical problems- they were mental mistakes. In one case the NFL over-ruled the officials on the field to take away our NE victory- I cannot ever remember that happening
This calling Secaucus should be stopped

Dallas is a media creation, at their core they are rotten

We have given up garbage runs but for the most part we have stopped critical runs, also we have stopped opponent rushing early in games discouraging them to go that route- thus all the INTs
There's a stat for

Yeah well Dallas has a great PR organization.....its their fault they could not find a replacement QB or groom one
also its indicative of their team weakness that without Tony they lost 7 in a row
Where are the Giants on this list?
robbieballs2003 : 11/27/2015 12:10 pm : link
Oh that is right.

NE: 21 carries for 75 yards with no OL
TB: 19 carries for 109 yards
NO: 20 carries for 101 yards
DAL: 33 carries for 187 yards
PHI: 30 carries for 152 yards

This is based off of the top two rushers for each team we faced. Excellent run defense.

We've been better against the run, certainly not great
mfsd : 11/27/2015 12:17 pm : link
But our LB play has improved a bit, at least since that New Orleans debacle. Brinkleys playing pretty well and Kennard has been strong when healthy
The biggest problem I see
mrvax : 11/27/2015 12:26 pm : link
is the Giants just cannot stay fairly healthy. Now Pugh & Richburg may be out? WTF? Beatty gone for the year. Prince nicked up again, Beason gone forever and Thomas/Castillas are usually out also.

For the Giants to make a run, they absolutely MUST get most of the starters back. Else, it's curtains I tell ya, it's curtains.
Say waht you wantabout our D but they swarm
EVERY4YEARS : 11/27/2015 12:45 pm : link
you see a lot of tackles where 4-5 Giants are tracking and hitting the runner

amazingly I don't think we have had one piling on call

we are also stripping balls a lot of balls, a lot
Giants defense is going to play better (already has last two weeks)
djm : 11/27/2015 2:20 pm : link
Hankins is a loss but the DL hasn't been this healthy all year and JPP's return has been tremendous. We actually have a pass rush now and with guys like Wynn, ayers and selvie we can rotate pro players in and out up front. The LBs are fine and if when Thomas returns there's quality depth there as well. The real key is at corner. I don't even want to say anything because I really feel that if we can somehow keep prince and drc on the field we can make a ton of noise.

It took longer than 3 games for Spags system to sink in this time around. We may have taken 2007 for granted and assumed that the D would come together in a month or so but in reality it can take time. Looks like the D has finally come together. I'm not saying it's gonna dominate but it should at least hold its own from here on out.
OP is delusional

.
Giants' roster at the start of the season didn't seem full of talent,
Reese's Pieces : 11/27/2015 8:05 pm : link
and then they lose Cruz, Beatty, Prince, Beason.

How have they played so well, five and five with two one point losses that they should have won, and a three point loss to Saints in their building?

I think when folks look back on this season they will see

1) Very good Eli season (except for clock management)

2) Big plus in turnover ratio. Some of this is due to luck: where the ball bounces when it is knocked out and hits the ground and who happens to be in the right spot when a pass is deflected. But Eli has a good shot at having the least picks of his career this year.

They need to find a way to get more pressure on the other team's QB, even if it's a blitzing LB or DB. But we all know that already.
