DeSean Jackson didn't play in Week 3 against us.
Jackson, Pierre Garcon, Jordan Reed, Jamison Crowder...there are some serious match-up problems for the Giants there.
We'll also get a better read this week on how much we will miss Johnathan Hankins - Patriots different style of offense, it wasn't as much of an issue.
It's gonna be an NFCE slugfest in any event and not a gimmee - but the Giants should be able to pull this out!
p.s.-- If Prince returns at the top of his game, that will help.

If you don't fear the redskins, then you should certainly fear the giants. We never know what giants team will show up. With all our injuries, it's even more of a concern. I'm cautiously optimistic.
He left Sunday's game with a sprained knee, after 46 yards and a fumble.
#Redskins safety Trenton Robinson is out. CB Bashaud Breeland (illness), CB Deshazor Everett and LB Keenan Robinson (shoulder) questionable
Everybody else probable I presume.
Cousins is an average player. For me their lines are overrated. Their backers are mediocre. Their secondary is pedestrian. Washington isn't a talented club.
For me it boils down to Eli and Co. protecting the ball. If they don't turn it over, then I think they will be able to put up points against them.
Since JPP's return the pass rush just looks better, even competent. Hell, the Giants LBs even look competent with Brinkley in the middle. I have faith in DRC and Prince to limit Desean and Garon. Cousins will be looking for Reed, Crowder, and Matt Jones as a result. The two most important defenders may be McBride and Brinkley. I also like the idea of Merriweather and Collins doing what they do best, and that's hitting. My favorite Giants game of all time is arguably SB XXV. They beat the hell out of the Bills receivers. Same thing here. If they catch it make them feel it.
It's important for the Giants to keep DC's receivers in front of them and avoid the big plays. More plays give Cousins more chances to make mistakes.
Back to DC's defense. Their front seven was supposed to be their strength. Rumor is Kerrigan is hurting more than just his hand. Hatcher has been the most active. For a lot of fat on the front they are doing an anemic job against the run and have 17 sacks. Keenum Robinson is out and week after week Cooley KILLS Perry Riley for his inability to shed blocks and cover. Murphy from Stanford has been a major disappointment.
Their CBs are Breeland and Blackmon and Hall. However, Hall is being forced into that role. Gruden admittedly wants him to learn the safety position. ODB should have a field day. An absolute field day. Eli needs to go after Vereen and ODB all day long. I know the OL is a mess (so is DC's, so we can't complain), but just get it in their hands and let them do their thing.
Back to the OP. I will take Eli, ODB, Vereen, Harris, Randle and Tye over what DC brings to the table. I like the Giants defense better as well. I will also take the Giants staff with two weeks of preparation. DC has one advantage, and that's home field.
The NFL is a week-to-week league. It truly is amazing the conclusions that are based on literally one game - hell, one freaking point!! In NY, think of the talk about Tom/Jerry and whether they stay or go. DC can turn into Philly sports radio in a nano second or they can talk about running the table. One point is all it takes. I like the a Gmen's chances.
More so after watching the Giants/Saints game.
if The Giants want to sit at the Adult Table...this Sunday is key.
It's all right there for them to take.
Can't wait till Sunday. Gonna be fun...
I don't even think Lou Holtz used to make his opponents seem as good as Eric tries.
Weren't the Cowboys going to run the table?
Fact is, Redskins do have talent in their receivers, and Cousins has, at time, shown the talent to play very well. The issue with him is he is not consistent with his level of play. We talk about good Eli vs. bad Eli, well with Cousins you get ok Kirk vs. atrocious Kirk.
As long as we win the TO battle and keep stupid penalties to a minimum, this SHOULDN'T be a difficult game. But...
There are always legitimate excuses, but yes, we are the better team and I expect a win. That said, any team, i.e Skins in this case, can play over their heads for one game, especially at home and win, even convincingly
It's our season too.
BigBlueShock...I don't know why you think I have an obsession with the Cowboys. Pointing out that they are a legitimate challenger to the Giants doesn't make me have some sort of obsessive "schtick"...BTW, have you seen their record against us the last five years? Same with the Eagles, but you don't say I have some obsession with them. If you ask me, you seem to have some issue giving Dallas any credit at all.
JOrthman, have you ever listened to local DC radio after the Skins lose? (which is often) Their fans never say the other team is better or played better. They always say "we beat ourselves" and/or "the refs screwed us."
And since you overlooked it, I'm not even the first one to bring it up on this thread, so apparently others have noticed it too. Your infatuation with Dallas' talent the past few years is well known. It's not me making shit up.

If we lose, then we beat ourselves. He missed so many passes last game. If he had even a decent game last time, it would of been very close and possibly a loss.

This has never been more apparent than following their last two losses. Doc Walker said the drops were the difference in the NE game, and we all know the refs cost them in Carolina. DC had 3 points until last-minute garbage time vs. NE. It was more than the drops.
And Eric is right on the money. This is how they comfort themselves and it has been going on for decades.
Their leading TD maker is Reed with 6 TDs on the season in 10 games
next is Garcon and Jones (RB) with 3 each - Cousins has 2 Rushing TDs - no one else has more than 1 TD scored on that team
they've had 1 game with over 40 points against New Orleans -- who has a terrible defense and besides that 1 other game with over 30 points in Tampa Bay
The Giants are averaging 27.3 Points and just about 3 touchdowns a Game
the Giants leading TD maker is Beckham with 8 - Harris has 4 - Randle and Vereen each have 3
they Giants out-scored Washington 32 to 21 in the last game and that was with Cousins 316 yds - Cousins has had only 2 other games with over 300 yds - Tampa and N Orleans
With Prince back in and the addition of JPP I think the defense should be better - Unga was the MLB the last time we played -- Brinkley is a damned sight better in my opinion --
Spags seems to have the Washington offense pegged really well - Eli has a lesser Washington Defense to play against than he had last time with a starting CB out and Kerrigan playing hurt - he didn't have a complete Offensive line last time they played either. Another thing is that Harris wasn't really being fully utilized on offense the last time they played.
Washington has Jackson to improve them this time and that may be their X factor -- but Cousins is not a world beater -- he's a dink and dunker -- he's not going to beat the Giants with the long ball with JPP and Ayres putting pressure on him and that's Jackson's supposed strength
I just can't see the Skins winning this one -- unless the Giants come out flat and just don't perform -- that hasn't been their MO this season -- so the Giants should be favored in this game and I fully expect them to seize this game and win it
Play/Coach smart and win. Esp the 4th quarter.
What is it when one says they have a really good group of targets and the Giants have some "serious match-up problems".
This coming on the heels of Eric telling the board several times over the past few weeks that with romo back, it was likely the Cowboys would run the table and be our biggest threat. Now that the old wishbone has been cracked again - I guess a different team has to be propped up, and it would look completely ridiculous to foist the Eagles in our faces as being a juggernaut.
So what does that leave? Kirk Fucking Cousins.
Great.
and we are not bringing the Giants defense from the 80's. Or the running game...or the special teams

Not in years, luckily I've been out of DC Radio territory for awhile. I can only judge cousins on what I've seen and when I've seen him play he is horrible. He will have a decent game now and again and then fall way back down to reality. There were a ton of passes he missed last game that if he just makes a few of him, they might of been able to pull it off.
And you did say it was likely they would run the table.
Because I've kept pointing out that games against the Panthers and Packers weren't these gimmes that people make them out to be.
Did you say "The Cowboys WILL run the table"? Probably not, but you indicated several times that a 3-7 team had a chance to run the table, and even put some comparisons to the Redskin team from RGIII's rookie year that it was a possibility.
That isn't a flat out lie at all.

Never said that. Great thing about BBI is that everything is archived. Go ahead and find me where I said the Cowboys would run the table.
