with this kind of officiating is completely unwatchable. Phantom fouls. Flopping all over the court. Bitches like Wade lobbying refs after every possession. Awful.
Looks like Fisher is going to get Porzingas some minutes
to win a DPY sooner rather than later. This guy just shuts down guys. No wonder his +/- is off the chart. He creates a lot of their offense from his defensive plays.
Knicks if they stay healthy will be right around 500 all year. I have not been on the trade melo bandwagon for a long time. But I just cannot see this team being ready to win a championship in the next 3 years and I think melo is going to have a Paul pierce type of decline. Very similar athleticism. The ideal situation is for zinger to be able to play center. It would be such an advantage and there is no doubt in my mind that in year 3 he should be ready to play center full time.
Just curious if there are even any potential trade partners out there. The key is melo would have to sign off on it and the only team I think he would consider would be Miami or Chicago. if you have the view of rebuilding around the zinger would you make the following trade/
Miami gets melo and Calderon
Boston gets justice Winslow and Derrick Williams
Knicks get Celtics #1 pick unprotected from nets and 2 first rounders from Miami along with deng expiring, Chris Anderson expiring, haslem expiring, stoudemire expiring and beno expiring.
This would get you back in the 2016 lottery and Open up alot of cap space with zinger as your selling point

Uh no. I would want Winslow in any deal. And after the number 1 pick, this draft is shaky.
would you trade a young stud or potential top five draft pick right now for Melo? He's an aging player making max money, and he has yet to show he's fully recovered from major knee surgery. A team like Miami will have a ton of money to spend in FA - no need to give up assets for Melo when you can go buy a player or two this summer. They also have to pay Whiteside.
Philosophically, I'm in favor of trading him for the right package, but I don't think it's realistic.

Melo would make a team like Miami an instant title contender. And the list of potential free agents is downright dreadful, unless teams want to take their chances on Durant, which would be foolish. Melo may have a max contract, but the key is he is under contract, which makes him more attractive, IMO. He's not just a rental. To suggest a team wouldn't give up draft picks or other assets for a top 10/15 player in the league is crazy.
Coach Derek Fisher hinted at shortening his use of a 12- and 13-man rotation heading into the weekend, but still used 11 players for the majority of the game, with Lou Amundson making a five-minute appearance at the end of the blowout. Sasha Vujacic did not play.
“It’s different than a year ago, so I like doing it this way more than how I felt last year,” Fisher said before the game. “I think it’s an advantage because it creates an environment where every guy will make sure he’s ready when his number’s called because so far guys have seen that each night it could be a different guy whose number is called.
I'd almost def trade Melo for Justice pretty much straight up though. Not sure if Miami does it, especially since Whiteside is a non bird rights FA this offseason. A trade of Melo for Deng, Anderson and Justice works with one of Miamis trade exceptions. The Heat have no firsts they can include so no picks can be part of the deal. Maybe somehow we get Johnskn too? Doubt it though.
As far as players better then Melo-
Curry
Lebron
Durant
Westbrook
Kawhi
The Brow
Chris Paul
Griffin
Paul George
Butler
Wall
Draymond
Cousins
Drummond
Harden
Marc Gasol
Lillard
Bosh
Milsap
That's not even including other players with limitations like Love, Jordan, Favors, Gobert, Whiteside, Hortford.
The list is extremely flawed but you only point out one guy? OK- lets compare Milsap vs Melo. Milsap literally has the advantage in almost every category besides PPG, but Melo has a much higher usage rate and much worse efficiency. I literally can't find a stat that tells any kind of story on how Melo is a better player then Milsap. I'm open to hearing an actual reason besides "Cmon son" as to why Melo is a better player then Milsap, which I'm sure he is if you want to ignore rebounding, defense and offensive efficiency. Which means, he isn't.
Box score stats:
Milsap: 18.8/9.6/3.6/1.9 steals/1.1 blocks on .48% shooting
Melo: 22.1/7.3/3.2/1/.6 on 41% shooting
Good move--if indeed that is what he is doing. Either Melo or Porzingas should be on the floor at all times.

Nope just took him out earlier so his boy lance Thomas could get more minutes
I'm thinking Melo - 36, Afflalo - 30, Porzingis - 30.
Afflalo firing up shots like he is Steph Curry.
And btw Afflalo is not a good player. Hope like hell he opts out.
The rest of the team are guys that you can find at the back end of any rotation in the league.
Lopez looks ok on some nights, but really brutal on most nights.
He is terrible.
