ND wins, OU loses...things might get interesting.

But the Irish need to take care of business. Go Irish!

Kelly called the timeout on first down?
MetsAreBack : 11/28/2015 10:51 pm : link
Or was it a player? If a coach called it he shouldn't get on the plane

I thought Stanford was worse with clock management. I am not nor have I ever been impressed with Shaw. Dont see why he gets NFL love.

No way was that a TD for ND. It may cost them. Could have ran th clock down further.
46 yarder in college no gimme
MetsAreBack : 11/28/2015 10:55 pm : link
But never should have come to this. Mind numbing - Mind numbing stupidity to call timeout with two timeouts the ball and the clock stopped at 33 seconds
ND is done

Ha ha. Ya know, one of the things about The Play is that the Stanford FG that should have won that game snapped with only :04 left. Yet somehow only 2 seconds went off the clock, leaving Cal time for its kickoff return through the Band.

Call it payback.
The question now is if they deserve a major bowl
MetsAreBack : 11/28/2015 11:04 pm : link
Whatever they call it now BCS bowl. I think they do - two last second losses against two likely conference champions on the road. They had a great year considering the injuries. Just a shame tonight was ruined by horrific clock management and I think the replay officials (pac 12?) missed an easy call of player being down at 1 foot line too. Odd.
Don't know if chasing points really made a difference or not
micky : 11/28/2015 11:06 pm : link
but that's 1 point off the board. Maybe strategically handled different in closing minutes.

yes they deserve a New Years' 6 bowl, no question
I didn't have a problem with the timeout...
shockeyisthebest8056 : 11/28/2015 11:08 pm : link
Kizer has been known for brain farts and might as well get everyone settled down. Not having a timeout to use is what caused Kizer's first half brain fart.

- Kizer turnover
- Carlisle drop
- end of half Stanford TD drive
- Kelly's MORONIC decision to go for 2
- Rochell facemask

Hard to overcome all of that.
And by a New Year's 6 bowl ND deserves
dpinzow : 11/28/2015 11:09 pm : link
the Rose, Fiesta or Sugar
the gmen

I don't think it was a bad TO either. They hadn't scored in the red zone all night.
ND probably goes to the Fiesta
dpinzow : 11/28/2015 11:13 pm : link
Rose is Big 10/Pac 12 so that's going to be the loser of the Big 10 championship game vs. Stanford (provided Stanford beats USC)

Sugar Bowl is Big 12/SEC so that is going to be Baylor/TCU vs. either Florida or Ole Miss

Think ND will see Ohio State in the Fiesta as long as the chalk holds (Clemson wins, Alabama wins)

always root against notre dame.

Enjoy your loss, loser.
And I hope Clemson and Alabama both win
dpinzow : 11/28/2015 11:25 pm : link
otherwise Ohio State will sneak back into the playoff. The rankings are going to look something like this:

1. Clemson
2. Alabama
3. Oklahoma
4. Iowa
5. Michigan State
6. Ohio State
7. Stanford
8. Florida State
9. North Carolina
10. TCU

I'd imagine UNC would argue for a playoff spot if they beat Clemson. They'll have won 12 straight in that scenario, with their only loss to South Carolina (a bad loss, but it was the first week). The problem UNC faces is that their schedule is very weak, including their conference schedule (no game vs. FSU to help them)
if TCU
MookGiants : 11/28/2015 11:45 pm : link
is ranked ahead of ND in these rankings on tuesday they should remove every person on the committee on the spot.
and FSU
MookGiants : 11/28/2015 11:46 pm : link
shouldn't be, either.

You're the dumbfuck who called this the "sports weekend from hell". As I pointed out, Dallas and Philadelphia were beaten badly. How a giants could say that at that point of the weekend is beyond me. ND losing just made it even better.
I'm with Peter on this one - Best sports weekend
Patrick77 : 11/29/2015 12:22 pm : link
So long as the Giants win

It would be:

Giants win
Dallas loses
Philly loses
Washington loses
Hurricanes win
Notre Dame loses

I can't imagine a better weekend. Well I guess if Ohio state, FSU, Alabama, and NC, and clemson lost it would be even better but you can't have it all.
As I said, Dallas was never relevant
MetsAreBack : 11/29/2015 12:43 pm : link
and probably gets a top 5 pick now.

Philly losing was fine but more than offset by Notre Dame's terrible loss (yet again my team can't manage a clock to save its life), and the Rangers losing 3x in regulation over a 4 day period.

Shitty sports weekend. Giants better salvage it today.
