He was. Personally I'm surprised. He has been more than moderately successful in a tough division and conference. Georgia could easily become as bad as Tennesee or a program like Miami going forward. Good recruiting classes lately too. I think a few teams will jump at him.

Could never win the big one and had loads of NFL talent year in year out. Still, Maryland and UVA should be on the phone immediately.
But he had to be part of the success and recruiting class. Half of the SEC dreams of the success he has had. Most of the ACC will never get close to what he has done over 15 years either.
I think so many programs now all think they are just a coach away from winning it all the are missing the big picture. If prefer the strategy of sticking with a guy that can get you roughly 8 wins to undefeated every year and always have the recruiting classes stocked. A few injuries and minor mistakes are all it takes to blow a chance. Consistently being close shouldn't be looked down on.
LSU almost made a big mistake, Georgia may have. 3 years from now they could be Tennessee.
I hope Miami considers Richt.

didnt realize Richt was a Miami alum. Looks like that's what will happen.
I get that the guy never won it all but the standard he is being held to in order to label him an underachiever basically means anyone other than Meyer, Fisher, or Saban is a poor coach.
Yep, Richt out after 15 years.

Hopefully he won't by sundown.

Hopefully he won't by sundown.
Nevermind, Flood is gone as well.
