As if every other team is not dealing with injuries. Hence the term "Team".
We did not lose this game because of injuries, we lost because our collective "Team" was not better then the other "Team".
Tough pill to swallow, because we all want to see this team win. We have many good pieces, but we are not going to get lucky here, the lack of depth will haunt us.
Ummm when 3/5 of your starting ol are injured. It is injuries plus prone to mistakes by team and etc
Hey but everything is cool. We are still in the playoff hunt.....
Fuck that shit! This team routinely shows up small in big games. I can't believe how poorly they played. Year three of mediocrity and more and more holes to fill.
schwartz's career as a Giant is done. We still need to fix the right side of the OL.
How much blame goes to TC for not having these guys ready to play?
All of it. You would think with that amount of time they could put up well executed game, not so. Very embarrassing. Shit we cannot even take advantage of all the gifting we have gotten this season, points from turnovers, beckham big plays, and 2 weeks prep time to close out a division opponent. Geez beat this guys and few others and we can literally back into the NFC east champion. Gutless bunch.
all of it? Like...he was playing? I honestly don't think this luntic obsessive compulsive coach we have could have been more clear about being focused and ready and prepared, and then they came out and didn't do their jobs. In games like this I can't see how any coach wouldn't have their team prepared. The ramifications are obvious. They have to go out and not shit the bed. They did't collectively have enough with the injuries and the fuckups to win the game.
It seems like we have actually managed to get things moving in a slightly better direction only to find out that the same problems that were relegating us to mediocrity in seasons past, still haven't been solved. These flat performances are going to limit this team for as long as they keep happening. Has anyone seen anything from Coughlin over the past 7-8 seasons that suggests that is going to change? I think it is really time to move on before it is too late for eli. I mean if we still haven;'t moved past this then we have pretty much a 10 win cap on any season we go into and that assumes that everything else goes our way (which this season it most certainly hasn't).
and take a massive post thanksgiving dump. Maybe I'll cry a little. Squeeze out that turkey and gravy and pumkin pie, gallon of gravy I ate.
I've got to shit out this loss and cleanse my bowels from the shit fest that the giants just made me watch.
I said that this was a put up or shut up game.
In fact it was a DID NOT SHOW UP GAME. I hope this is enough for Mara so that Reese and Caughlin do not show up next year.
They force it to him and he's good enough to produce, but its not terrible efficient. They need someone to make teams pay for all the attention they give Beckham.
Schwartz never really recovered - now he's gone and more importantly Beatty never came back. Wonder what the offense might have done minus those two losses, especially Beatty
The problem is that the strides we've made are not nearly enough!
This year has always had -- and still does-- the look and feel of a re- building year.
We need more talent at LOS both sides of the ball!
This game is one of those barometers you use to gauge progress. You want to see a team show up play tough and aggressive make plays and void mental mistakes. That would give you confidence things are improving and the turn around is gainingg traction. This game was clearly a step backwards
Coughlin's biggest mistake was not handing the ball off to Jennings
I always hear about how the Giants draft a certain personality and stay away from the bad seeds, but do we also have a propensity to draft stupid players, or is it the coaching staff that doesn't prepare them accordingly?
We are good for AT LEAST 2 "what the hell are you thinking?" plays/penalties a week. Today it was more...
Puts the players on the field. The lack of depth is alarming. Despite that TC had them playing tough. Reese needs to go immediately if not sooner. He's an inept empty suit.
Players say this type of thing every time they lose. Someday fans will realize it and not put much credence to it.
They didn't lose because lack of effort and fire today -- they clearly were giving it whatever they had. They lost because they were undermanned, seemingly unprepared idiots.
Do you just view everything like some sort of robot with a black option and a white option? I don't care you think the "excuses" are legit. At some point excuses become reasons. You just are one of these people who sees a bad loss and says fire people. YOu think TC just ho hummed his way through these 2 weeks? The guy probably drummed the importance of the game into the team a thousand times a day. You can't force grown men who are pro athletes to play with focus and desire.
that Coughlin did everything he could to prepare the team to win this game. Now, one can argue that the scheme was wrong but lets table that for a minute.
If he did everything he could but the players are unable to execute, then is this really coming down to roster building and player selection? I know there are injuries, but the players who are making the mistakes (or not making the plays) are the starters.
We have Randle who has always played like an undrafted free agent and not like a guy we should have spent a high draft pick on. BBI want to dump Collins already although I am not giving up on him. Our TE situation is the bed that we made. We really don't have a starting #1 RB on this team. The O-line was patchwork coming into the season even before injuries.
Leadership... we really don't have any. Especially on defense. Yes, Eli is a leader but we also need someone like Strahan who would make others accountable. There is no heart.
but ti may give us a chance to see what Hart can do.
Hart played a good game today, curious to see more. I would like to see him replace Newhouse when Richberg and/or Pugh return.
I'm so tired of Schwartz has he EVER been healthy since he was signed here? Please part ways with him and Beason and Cruz has now not played in over a year. Time to make a decision with him.
Pugh now has a concussion history and Newhouse is back-up material at best.
And I was never a fan of Schwartz to begin with.
The reality of the situation is as I told Colin (and everyone else) is that WR's are a lot easier to replace and develop then Linemen, on either side of the ball.
Harris has been arguably out-playing the other WR's and he was a ST signing.
We, on the other hand are totally unprepared. Getting outplayed, out coached. We have seen this countless times. But injuries will excuse all of this I'm sure.
Injuries are real things that have a direct impact on the level play. If players didn't matter why bother with a draft?
and of course injuries do matter as reasons not excuses when they are at positions like O Line and D Line and QB. The Giants don't have a TE...think they could use a good one? They had 4th string OL today and 32 yards rushing. Eli literally had no running game to confuse a defense. THey have no LB's. THey have a thin D-Line. And they have guys all over the field dropping balls. So yeah it's a problem that the roster is missing key players and key positions.

This Giants team has the worst Defensive line of any Giants team in the last 10-15 years and it's not even close. A complete overhaul is needed except for Hankins and Wynn as a rotational player. They should sign both Kerrigan and Curry this off season.
The team didn't lose because of a lack of desire. They had repeated sloppy play and had some of their mediocre players (Hosley, Meriweather) get beat with injury replacements underperforming. A lot of blame to go around. Lack of desire isn't one of them.
?!?!? are you fucking kidding me?!?! make dahl play center field put collins on reed...best on best not best on a srub ass safety who is lucky to be on a roster
Would have probably been ok, if he could have gotten a jam on him, but Reed is like a WR and Dhal is just not fleet a foot!

as well. Kid is the same size as Randle, but he actually plays tough. You need to see what he has at this point, because Randle has played himself off the team in the future. Just way to soft, he would do better in canada or in arena football.
This team needs a new coach and some new staff.I'm still of the persuasion that Reese deserves to pick the next HC. The point remains that the Giants have been their own biggest obstacle over the past couple years, this team shoots itself in the foot way to often, and makes poor decisions always at critical moments. They play undiciplined, and I've had enough of it.

Desire was there mostly...intensity not as much. Think about this for a second...
On a day when we ran 13 times, and Eli threw 51 times, Ruben Randle had one catch. 1 catch by your number 2 receiver out of 51 passes.
We did not lose this game because of injuries, we lost because our collective "Team" was not better then the other "Team".

We need a FS and CBs
We need another WR opposite of OBJ
We need a RB with some speed and consistency
And by God do we need a pass rush and another DT

More excuses, when results are needed.

THe kid has hearty and passion. I can't say that about the rest of the offense. Rashard jENNINGS? HE SUCKS SO DOES aNDRE wILLIAMS.
sad, this is one of those games where you wish Parcells was standing on the sideline. He would not put up with this shit.
Wish we had that extra TO with two minutes left
thats what odell said, not me.

If I was one of their coaches and/or fans, that would be a big red flare to me.
The Giants dug too big of a hole early in this game to dig themselves out of, and didn't have the Oline to make the comeback either.
If Pugh and Richburg can't comeback and play effectively next week, this pattern may repeat itself.
Collins was very good today in the box.
I lol'd.
Hart played a good game today, curious to see more. I would like to see him replace Newhouse when Richberg and/or Pugh return.

We will lose vs Carolina
