Unfortunately the giants have many more players who contribute who are not signed for next year than anyone else in the NFC East by far.The list includes JPP,Prince,Ayers, McBride,Josh Brown, Jasper Brinkley, Donnell,Randle and Kuhn. The Skins have Cousins and Morris, the Cowboys Clairborne,Mincey and McClain. This will give the Giants cap space but if you look at the players available throughout the league the Giants will be hard pressed to pick up more than they lose .
They will have the means to build whatever roster they choose - it depends on how smart they are.
I forget the poster's name but he posted the numbers a while back - they are looking at potentially 70+ million of cap room.
Restructure Schwartz, Beatty & Cruz. If they won't, see ya.
Everyone else: Bye, Bye
They will have a big chunk of change , do you trust the current admin with this money? 4 straight terrible seasons .
Absolutely try to keep the following at a reasonable price:
JPP, Prince, Brinkley, Merriweather
And build a defense with Hankins, DRC, Kennard, Collins.
Maybe Bromley, Owa, Selvie, and Wynn are worth keeping too. There's still at least 10 openings for players to fill the defensive roster and a lot of them would be new starters.

Not since Gettleman left.
Problem is there's nobody else out there, unless we make a trade, probably not happening, and so you will end up paying him, but I wouldn't break the bank for him. If there's a new staff, it's always possible that the Giants could go back to a 3-4, and JPP might be a capable LB at the weight he's currently at.

You're presuming the potential FA players on other teams would actually hit the market. Thats often not the case. Sometimes, the only players available arent that good (Baas & Shwartz & good examples). Teams dont let their good players walk that often

has JPP done, to say we have to sign him? He is the Beason of DLmen, in the sense that, he just looks good, because he is better than the other scrubs.....we are paying this guy,, 900K per game.....should have saved it for next year's cap....

He hasn't done anything to warrant bringing him back. At a minimum I would but he is not in a position to demand money. I wouldn't be upset if we let him walk, not in the least.
As will Beatty andCruz or be gone.
Unfortunately its another poor FA class especially at OL.

They can cut Beason, Shwartz, and Beatty and be even more rich.

At this point any FA is better than a lot of the current roster.
I'd make big plays for Osmele and Glenn. I don't think either franchises can really afford to keep them.
A starting 5 of Flowers, Pugh, Richburg, Osmele, and Glenn sounds pretty good to me. Jerry, Newhouse, Reynolds, and Hart are the backups.
In order to get appreciably better (10 wins/playoffs), and again this is all taking the conservative POV with the financials, we would have to sign maybe 2 premium players in FA after JPP and Prince. (Sadly, this roster is so poor, we probably need 4 proven big ticket signings, but that's not possible for any franchise)
