NFC East & having a franchise QB

Kuhn and Friends : 11/29/2015 5:24 pm
Dallas can't keep Romo on the field for a full season, sometimes less than a fraction thereof. Washington trades away their entire future for a guy that winds up being their practice squad safety and the Eagles go from reformed dog killer to scrub to Mr. Glass to Buttfumble and trade away all of their best players in the interim, yet through it all, we maintain our 2 time Super Bowl MVP QB without missing a beat and can't take advantage of any of it. What gives, exactly? It's completely baffling.
Either Eli's not as good as many wish he was or Reese and/or Coughlin

haven't done their jobs well enough.

That's your answer, though I know some don't want to hear it.

or the Giants have no defense, poor RB play, and a below avg #2 WR.

Which would largely fall under "Reese and/or Coughlin not doing their jobs well enough".

Reese
There is very little talent

On this team. 4 straight seasons of being below average .
We built championship teams around Eli
bceagle05 : 11/29/2015 5:29 pm : link
and now we're trying to build another one. Dallas may have missed its window with Romo, and the Eagles and Skins are going nowhere fast with their shitty QBs. Tough day today, but if you told me an NFC East team was gonna win a Super Bowl in the next four years, my guess is it would be the Giants.
I'm not as hard on Reese as others
Emil : 11/29/2015 5:29 pm : link
but if we are placing blame, I do place it more at the feet of Reese than Coughlin.
NFL media people think Phillip Rivers is a top QB

His team stinks and he's never won anything. QB is least of the Giants problems. They have a good QB who has won 2 Super Bowls with late game winning drives still in his prime. They have a #1 receiver. They have a young LT who might be really good in a year or two. They have a young center who is really good right now. That's it. From the owners to front office to the head coach on down everyone else is pretty much a JAG.
It starts at the top
BlueClaw : 11/29/2015 5:32 pm : link
we have a shitty GM that can't get this team stacked with talent. Instead we have little depth, our #2 WR sucks ass. Oline sucks. Newhouse? How the f do you think you can have a good line with newhouse starting @ rt.
Eli and OBJ and little else.
You look at the Giants and you see ELI and OBJ and no other players. JPP is playing ok but he needs help too.
Injuries have fucking killed us.
We lost our starting LT Beatty, our best DT hankins, lost our #2 WR Victor Cruz slot receiver. And basically all the depth players are pretty bad. Now we have Richburg and pugh and scwartz sidelined.
We're either squandering Eli's best years...
Kuhn and Friends : 11/29/2015 5:32 pm : link
or Eli is totally blowing the team's best chances to capitalize on its best opportunities (which I don't' believe for a minute). Those are the two extreme views to adopt given the situation. I can't picture any other franchise given the constant of Eli in his prime to screw the pooch so many years and games in a row as we do.
Without Eli & OBJ, this is a 2 maybe 3 win team
GloryDayz : 11/29/2015 5:36 pm : link
if that.

Thats how bad this things looks. I dont think I'm just reacting to this loss... the team is very short on talent. Maybe there are 10-12 legitimate starters on the team...

Eli
OBJ
DRC
Prince (when & if healthy)
Pugh
JPP
Hankins
Richburg
Flowers who's raw
Kennard
Cruz (health?)
Vereen (situational player)
Jennings (average starter)

Maybe younger guys will prove themselves in the future, but most of them dont deserve to get many snaps now
Should canned Reese and begged Gettleman to stay.
BlueHurricane : 11/29/2015 5:36 pm : link
.
When Eli is finished he will be
Ginny Poo : 11/29/2015 5:36 pm : link
the greatest Giant of all time. He already is. He should bring legal action against the GM for lack of support and inability to understand the game of football.

100% agree, but the organization needs to start taking advantage of it.

A cogent and unemotional response. Spot on.

eli isn't the problem. You give eli an oline that gives him some confidence he won't get killed and maybe another player on offense beside OBJ that can make a play and eli will deliver another SB. Running attack is supposed to be the QB's best friend....Our running game sucks.
Our WR's help the other team. How many screwed up routes lead to interceptions? How many tipped passes. Harris got wacked today so I don't put that on him as he has been a stud. Vereen and randle though.....
Vereen turned up the field before he caught the ball.
Randle being randle all day and then makes one lucky catch. the other 90% of the time he is fucking the team up running wrong routes, dropping the ball. I'm really hating on him right now. I can't stand watching him out there doing nothing or screwing up.

Not sure I would call Coughlin JAG.
it's both reese and coughlin
markky : 11/29/2015 5:53 pm : link
sure, we have no depth and talent seems lacking.

but Pats don't have a single starter on offense drafted in the first round. think about that for a minute.

Edelman? 7th round.
Lafell? 3rd round
the line? two 4ths, a 5th, an UDFA
UDFA back in Bolden
Amendola? (injured, but 4th round)

they do have a couple of 2nd rounders (Volmer and Gronk)
and they have their injuries as well

we are doing something wrong on the coaching side as well, maybe not developing players or recognizing the ones that could be developed.

and we just play stupid. that's on the coaches.

As much help as Eli had in his early years.....
BillKo : 11/29/2015 5:59 pm : link
think very good OL with pretty good backs, and a trio of very good receivers,

he's now basically working with one player right, OBJ.

The run game is non existent. The OL is still at the point where we can't hold the ball longer, allowing longer routes and more separation.

Anyone notice how open Redskins receivers were open today (more time for their QB) versus Eli? Every pass Eli threw seemingly need to be between the numbers to have a chance.
