Washington showed how to finish a game when clinging to a lead, something the Giants have failed to do 4 times this year. Bad teams lose games like this.
The current state of the team can be pinned on several factors and no one should escape blame, including the ownership that preaches accountability but rarely demands it. Still it's hard to rant about players like Eli who, though a contributor to the losses this year, is also a primary reason for all of the wins. Same is true of players who bring it weekly, like Beckham, Harris, DRC and several others. However, like most businesses it is a bottom-line world and it is increasingly difficult for the unbelievably devoted fan-base to continue to accept the product being put on the field for the past several years, just because the head coach, a few of the remaining players and the GM won 2 Super Bowls in 2007 and 2011.
Patience is difficult for many of us who have been around 40+ years, but it is not as if we have a choice, unless we are prepared to find another sport or team. But many fans with less of an emotional investment will just slowly lessen their interest, preferring not to experience the highs and lows of a team that has developed a culture of mediocrity in recent years and seems to shoot itself in the foot several times each season.
The 2007 and 2011 Super Bowls are fading quickly into the past replaced by the failures of recent seasons. Only the most diehard of fans can accept moral victories and near misses for a team that has such a proud and rich history.
The problem with this team can be laid at the feet of Jerry
Reese....Injuries can be survived if you have depth, the depth you get when you don't continually whiff on the 4 and 5 rounds.
Injuries to the O line today, was the main reason this offense couldn't get going. But where were Mosley and Brewer,. mid round picks that should have been a contributing factor on this team by now. I don't think they are even in the league.

Exactly. Mara needs to clean house and start fresh. Everyone goes at the end of the season. EVERYONE.

How can you say that? Jerry Reese brought us two Super Bowls!!(my tongue planted so far in my check its down my throat)

Only meant the Redskins end of game strategy was the way you end a game. This team has no excuses. Most teams have serious injuries. The Redskins were missing half their secondary today and two weeks ago the Patriots had even more injuries on their line. Hosley is a third round draft choice who survives each year as if to compound the mistake. The OL line is still in rebuild mode. Expensive veterans with injury histories sit on injured reserve calling into question the wisdom of having signed them to such contracts and using up cap space. At least Eli is earning his money,
Reese: I could see him going or staying. Most likely he stays and guys like Ross get let go. But not out of the realm of possibility that both TC and JR are gone if Giants don't win the division.
But we should all hope that it does not come to that and that the Giants get their act together and win the division.
Yes. Agree. You can't beat the Redskins with everything on the line coming off a bye, you don't deserve anything. Disgraceful.
Today was just one of six losses, at least 3-4 of which should never have occurred. The coach is at least partly responsible. However I agree that today is more on the players than the coach.

Agree with every point.
Yes it was.
I can't speak for you, but when I see a team continue to come out flat, look unprepared/undisciplined in their assignments and play dumb (the Bromley penalty and Harris trying to return that last punt from the 1. The 1!!!), that's the essence of a poorly coached team. This has been going on for the bulk of TC's tenure here. You may disagree, but this is a poorly coached team and has been for a very long time.
