For those who know me on the board, I live in the middle of Jet-centric, Jet Nation. Where the world revolves around them. Is there any hope? Any shot we can get the W. I don't want to thump my chest or talk smack but when the jets beat the Giants, it's going to be tough to hear this. Is there another Christmas Eve 2011 miracle? How will we match up with them? I didn't watch their game due to the conflict but I heard they looked excellent. If the Giants go 6-10, just make this the win. Dave in Hoboken and others who have been letting me rant about the Jets - I need you this week. And for Jets trolls who read the board, I'm respecting your team which is why I fear them.
GO!!!!!!
We are perfectly suited to beat the Jets. Ever since the Pats game, when Brady threw 50+ times against them, that has been the blueprint on how to beat the Jets. Revis island is proof of global warming and rising ocean levels in it's diminishing surface area. Cromartie is a 15 yard gain waiting to happen. We throw short, we throw often and if we can get a little enthusiasm out of Rueben Randle we should be able to move the ball.
The Jets have their own O line troubles, they would like to run and control the clock, we won't let them do that. Marshall and Decker are going to get theirs but if we keep those two out of the end zone we should be able to beat them easily. Then again, we should have beaten 4 of the 6 teams we lost to.
In typical Giants' style, we may keep the Jets in the game but I certainly don't fear Fitzpatrick or expect to run much into that D line. The secondary is overrated and should be torched often.
He thinks Miami is just a very bad football team and indicated that in the first half, Miami's first four or five drives started at the 40 or better. If Eli and the Giants offense had that field position, the Jets would be in trouble.
He points out that T.J. Yates and DeAndre Hopkins beat the Jets with Revis and Eli Manning with Odell Beckhmam would be even scarier.
He said he is impressed with the Giants defense without the big names. While the Jets with a big lead allowed a Miami team to score on them, he actually said that the Giants on the road didn't give up and made it a close game.
He thinks the Jets winning this game, and the media is going to be all over them, makes him nervous as the Jets have a history of not showing up in these games.
I brought up the banged up o-line and said Schwartz is out and Richburg and Pugh are likely out, the Jets D-line is going to crush us. He actually said as a Jets fan, he thinks that the D-Line is overrated. He said they are slow, the need a player like Tuck or Umineyora in their prime.
Their great corners have not played great this season. Revis has been ok, not great, and Cromartie has had a rough year.
