I think it's because they're calling more penalties.

Not a perception problem but reality. Either an awful lot of officials just not seeing things from poor angles OR they enrolled in the Tom Donaghy school of Officiating and Personal Economics for their CCE.

It's fucking ruin the game on every little inch of a play is analyzed over and over just looking for a hairline movement of the ball on an clear old school int. It's getting frick'n unwatchable

I don't really mind some contact by the D. But, when your arm is being held on a throw thrown to you, how does that not get called?

WTF is a reception call on the Seattle INT at the end of the game. If you must possess the ball throughout contact on the ground but the ball comes loose and it stands, I'm not sure what the rule is.

Each week is a new and exciting interpretation of the rule. It is almost like a running joke now.

Kam Chancellor intercepts a pass that he may not have maintained control of throughout the process, so it goes to review. Mike Carey comes on and says this will certainly get overturned and it is an incomplete pass. He says it is clear that there was dual possession with Chancellor and Bryant while going out of bounds, and the ball comes out at the end, so there was not control throughout the process. Easy call according to Mike. So........the official comes back, and announces that the call on the field has been confirmed...INTERCEPTION!

And therein lies the problem. We have a very experienced retired referee saying one thing and another referee coming back and saying the exact opposite. Nobody knows what the rules are anymore.

What? It's not remotely as good or as entertaining as basketball! Though perhaps that's especially true if you're a Warriors fan.

has gone from being a good ref to a terrible one in the past 5 years. He has been embroiled in controversial plays several times a year and yet still get marquee games.

I ever have seen a group of officials were had. The flags, the conferences, the forgetting what down it was. It was so hard to watch.

And the Niners got the brunt of the bad calls.
