3 immediate changes NYG can make (Traina)

According to the New York Times’ playoff simulator, the loss to Washington drops the Giants playoff chances from 85 percent to 45 percent.

that sucks.

anyway, the 3 not-so shocking changes suggested:

1. reduce Randle's work. i think most are on page with this one...and here's a truly disturbing stat IMO

Quote:
It’s also quite disturbing how Randle has averaged just 2.6 yards after the catch coming into this game, which is not good at all.

wow.

2. cut back on RBBC. another one most would agree with. why Darkwa's carries have not gone up is crazy at this stage.

3. play McBride over Hosley/Wade - - yet another one most here have mentioned in the past few weeks.
those 3 are such gimmies anyone could see it

hopefully our coaching staff does...
All good ideas/suggestions
The_Boss : 11/29/2015 9:37 pm : link
But unless Pugh and Richburgh get healthy (and fast) and they can slow the leakage at RG and RT, this team is not going to the playoffs.
So Nicks/Davis/White more time than Randle?
micky : 11/29/2015 9:41 pm : link
Davis doesn't sound like he's ready to step in. Not much to go to.
I just can't understand why they keep shoehorning any carries for
Devon : 11/29/2015 9:43 pm : link
Williams in.

He does nothing well right now other than may have the right college on his resume. He's a terrible fit for both this offense.
Can someone explain to me
FJ : 11/29/2015 9:44 pm : link
how (according to the article) Randle caught 1 of 6 passes thrown to him for 36 yards with one being a 40 yard TD?

Besides that, I dont necessarily agree that Nicks, Darkwa and McBride are the 3 guys who will save the Giants season.
#2 = this Andre Williams shit
Bobby Humphrey's Earpad : 11/29/2015 9:49 pm : link
has got to end. Darkwa runs north-south better than this guy and can avoid contact in the hole. Unless Williams is a necessary ST player, it's time to cut it the fuck out.
I can't believe the Giants came ...

... out of the bye and got out coaches and outplayed by DC.

I'm too lazy to look it up, but don't the Giants have a pretty bad record coming off the bye under TC?
Randle is the only
bluepepper : 11/29/2015 10:10 pm : link
WR on the roster with the talent to be a legit #2 guy. Nicks is a shell of his former self. Harris is gutty but limited. White and Davis are practice squad level at least at this point in their careers. There's no choice but to go with Randle and hope he finally gets it. Maybe the temp benching today will light a fire. We were ready to give up on Toomer at one point. Fassel benched him and the light bulb went on. Corey Webster was benched in '07 and out of nowhere upped his game late that year. I don't expect this to happen with Randle but it is more likely than Nicks regaining form or Myles White becoming a force.
Giants are like..
FatMan in Charlotte : 11/29/2015 10:11 pm : link
7-3 coming off byes the past ten years.

Not seeing where they were outcoached today, but when we lose, BBI thinks we come out flat, that we don't make adjustments, that we are outcoached and the other team never makes plays, so it is par for the course.
Why not?

Six targets, one catch for a td, on a blown coverage....

Their best receiver, best player, stated the team did not show up. So yes, I guess you can say they came out flat.

I was referring to this game only. You don't always come out of the bye with so much on the line. They blew it.

Just Tom's stubbornness. Williams only got 2 carries today. 2 too many but finally Tom is giving up on him. I expect him to be inactive next week assuming the other RB's are healthy.
Darkwa
NJGiantFan84 : 11/29/2015 10:35 pm : link
Did not do much with his opportunities today either. Williams has gotten four carries the last two games. They use him close to the goal line because he doesn't fumble. He isn't the one keeping Darkwa from getting carries. Vereen and Jennings are.

dep026 : 11/29/2015 10:54 pm : link
tells me that Randle was right on both goal line plays. Why should he see less snaps when he runs all his routes perfectly?
I hope we ditch the RBBC soon
David in LA : 11/29/2015 11:15 pm : link
stick with one guy, and let Vereen get snaps when we're in passing situations. Our RB's have an alarmingly low number of runs for 20 yards or more.
playing Williams
dep026 : 11/29/2015 11:16 pm : link
makes no sense whatsoever. Scratch that, he doesnt fumble. So let him get the carries at the end of the game when we have a two TD lead.
McBride has been pretty solid
madgiantscow009 : 11/29/2015 11:28 pm : link
playing for long stretches in other seasons.
actually shocked...
TexasGmenFan : 11/29/2015 11:35 pm : link
with all the views, that no one has mentioned the whopping 2.6 YAC for RR.

that is just so beyond pathetic especially in a WCO where a lot of yardage typically comes post catch.
Unfortunately our bench doesn't have the answer...
Torrag : 11/30/2015 12:06 am : link
...our talent there is pedestrian. McBride is a known quantity and frankly has been like throwing gasoline on the fire that is our secondary every time he's stepped on the field.

Agree Darkwa should be getting more burn at the expense of jennings and williams. A committee system at RB does noone any benefit if it prevents all of the players from finding a groove. That said he wouldn't be the difference between winning or losing these games. Especially running behind a patchwork interior OL at this stage of the season.

Many of the BBI draftnik crew felt that CB and WR should have been addressed with premium picks in the draft but it didn't pan out that way. The misguided reliance on Cruz is yet another example of an injury mis-evaluatiuon by the organization and failure to account for a worst case scenario. The CB depth was abysmal with McBride projected as the 'nickel' and Hosley relied upon to contribute despite an inneffective tenure up to that point in time. Princes durability has always been sketchy so it seemed to a lot of us this was a prioroty. We are paying the price for that lack of vision in the wins and losses column most Sundays. On a team with so many personnel concerns was surrendering a 4th rounder for a safety ill suited for the modern games coverage requirements was a wise decision?>

Right about now I'm certain Reese & Co. are feeling a kinship with Wile E. Coyote and thinking it's back to the drawing board we go...even if they aren't saying so out loud.

I don't necessarily think there was a coaching game plan issue, but the offense was making mistakes everywhere... it was a mess for 3 qtrs.

Too many mental errors for a game this important, i dont get it. There is something about the Giants under TC when they have an opportunity to gain a lead in the division, or lengthen that (make it easier to reach end goal ) they come out flat.

Have seen it many times, its very strange.

But, of course when the Giants have their backs against the wall or have very tough competition ( PATS ) they seem to play at a much higher level with less mental errors.

Its very strange.
yep about Randle
SomeFan : 11/30/2015 1:04 am : link
I have been saying he gets nil YACand is not a gamersincehe started playing for the
for the Giants
SomeFan : 11/30/2015 1:05 am : link
I am surprised his Ac is so high. I thought it might be negative
this is TC's eternal flaw
SHO'NUFF : 11/30/2015 3:23 am : link
too resistant to change.
