According to the New York Times’ playoff simulator, the loss to Washington drops the Giants playoff chances from 85 percent to 45 percent. |
that sucks.
anyway, the 3 not-so shocking changes suggested:
1. reduce Randle's work. i think most are on page with this one...and here's a truly disturbing stat IMO
It’s also quite disturbing how Randle has averaged just 2.6 yards after the catch coming into this game, which is not good at all. |
wow.
2. cut back on RBBC. another one most would agree with. why Darkwa's carries have not gone up is crazy at this stage.
3. play McBride over Hosley/Wade - - yet another one most here have mentioned in the past few weeks.
He does nothing well right now other than may have the right college on his resume. He's a terrible fit for both this offense.
Besides that, I dont necessarily agree that Nicks, Darkwa and McBride are the 3 guys who will save the Giants season.
Not seeing where they were outcoached today, but when we lose, BBI thinks we come out flat, that we don't make adjustments, that we are outcoached and the other team never makes plays, so it is par for the course.

Davis doesn't sound like he's ready to step in. Not much to go to.
Six targets, one catch for a td, on a blown coverage....

Their best receiver, best player, stated the team did not show up. So yes, I guess you can say they came out flat.

I'm too lazy to look it up, but don't the Giants have a pretty bad record coming off the bye under TC?
I was referring to this game only. You don't always come out of the bye with so much on the line. They blew it.

Just Tom's stubbornness. Williams only got 2 carries today. 2 too many but finally Tom is giving up on him. I expect him to be inactive next week assuming the other RB's are healthy.
that is just so beyond pathetic especially in a WCO where a lot of yardage typically comes post catch.
Agree Darkwa should be getting more burn at the expense of jennings and williams. A committee system at RB does noone any benefit if it prevents all of the players from finding a groove. That said he wouldn't be the difference between winning or losing these games. Especially running behind a patchwork interior OL at this stage of the season.
Many of the BBI draftnik crew felt that CB and WR should have been addressed with premium picks in the draft but it didn't pan out that way. The misguided reliance on Cruz is yet another example of an injury mis-evaluatiuon by the organization and failure to account for a worst case scenario. The CB depth was abysmal with McBride projected as the 'nickel' and Hosley relied upon to contribute despite an inneffective tenure up to that point in time. Princes durability has always been sketchy so it seemed to a lot of us this was a prioroty. We are paying the price for that lack of vision in the wins and losses column most Sundays. On a team with so many personnel concerns was surrendering a 4th rounder for a safety ill suited for the modern games coverage requirements was a wise decision?>
Right about now I'm certain Reese & Co. are feeling a kinship with Wile E. Coyote and thinking it's back to the drawing board we go...even if they aren't saying so out loud.

Its not bad, i think it was 7-4 before this game.

I don't necessarily think there was a coaching game plan issue, but the offense was making mistakes everywhere... it was a mess for 3 qtrs.
Too many mental errors for a game this important, i dont get it. There is something about the Giants under TC when they have an opportunity to gain a lead in the division, or lengthen that (make it easier to reach end goal ) they come out flat.
Have seen it many times, its very strange.
But, of course when the Giants have their backs against the wall or have very tough competition ( PATS ) they seem to play at a much higher level with less mental errors.
Its very strange.
