-he was held on every damn play
-he is a bona fide star
-Not only does he not get the typical superstar treatment, he can't even get a flag on clear penalties, ie-hit in head late at least 3 x's
I couldn't believe there was no flag on the late hiy
saw obvious "hit on defenseless receiver/unnecessary roughness " not called. At least one obvious holding/pass interference not called. Not why G-Men lost the game, but sure didn't help.
anyone catch the cheap shot by Perry Riley on kn manning?
On that last play eli was being tackled as he threw it across the field...he comes in with the crown of his hehelmet and decks eli helmet to helmet clear as day
-refs didn't cost us the game but I cannot wrap my head around some of the non calls, particularly on OBJ
In my opinion OBJ is THE closest thing to Michael Jordan since ken Griffey jr
Rarely is THE most talented, the most competitive and the most hard working
-defenses are basically trying to eliminate him and they just can't
-he is toying w the league
-Pugh and richburgs not being healthy was too much to overcome
-still gonna have a decemba to rememba
-I know I'm all over the place but can't help feel that Beatty supposedly not willing to change positions and thus electing to have surgery is a real problem
Today. Here's a sequence for you:
Cousins hits Jones, I believe, for a huge gain on a screen. One Redskin OL was probably illegally downfield by literally 15-20 yards but was never called. NYG gets ball. Deep ball to Beckham and he is clearly held/interfered on in the route. No call. Soon after we run a screen for good yardage the Redskins get called for a penalty AND we get called for a dubious illegal man downfield.
Not saying they cost us, but they, like the NYG, weren't very good.
but at least they called it consistently. They allowed the game to be played physically but it went both ways. Take Wade's early pass defense. Not saying it's right or wrong but there are definitely officials who would've flagged him because he didn't attempt to get his head around or make a play on the ball.
As for Beckham, I honestly don't know how you deal with it if you're an officiating crew. He could realistically draw 4-5 flags a game. He gains separation so consistently that DBs are left with little option but to grab.

They didn't even announce the illegal man downfield on our ill fated screen. For those who re-watched it, was there a fake to Darkwa on that play? Johnston mentioned the defensive player is allowed to tackle the RB on a screen attempt if there is a play fake to the RB first. I didn't catch it. What I did see was a fake pass to Beckham, who was lined up in the backfield. It became moot with the penalty on the Giants.
Either want to control the outcomes of games or they are directly ordered to do so.
The Bromley call on Cousins was a joke. Eli took a shot much harder within the sane amount of time after releasing the ball and nothing...
That penalty by Bromley was not a bad call.
Agree, but Chris is also correct about it not being called when done to Eli on the very next Giants drive. Eli threw it, defender took two steps then threw Eli down, no call
Problem with not calling holding like they did last year is that it encourages holding. Its the original Legion if Boom philosophy: Hold all the time and they will only call it sometimes. The refs were bad today, but they did not drop balls left and right like our non-Beckham receivers.
OBJ's penchant for making the spectacular one-handed grabs is costing him several pass interference calls this year. At least five times I've seen him having to reach with one hand for a ball because a defender is grabbing at the other arm. This kind of contact - not incidental or part of the defender making a play for the ball - would almost certainly be called if it happened to any other receiver, including other Giants. What happens is that OBJ is able to make a play on the ball and get a hand on it and the refs let it slide.
I'm convinced it's because he's been effective catching them with one hand that they have come to believe that grabbing his other arm when he goes for a ball is just "hand-checking" or incidental contact.
...significant physical contact is made well beyond the allotted five yards on an extremely high percentage of plays.
Teams are banking on the refs unwillingness to call it with enough frequency to invalidate it as a strategy and are willing to live with the flags they do get as a result.

I think his skills should allow him to draw a penalty better. OBJ can make a play on any ball therefore he needs space to jump forward backward or sideways and the defender needs to stay out of way with minimal contact.
It is perplexing that OBJ is getting blows to the head
but the refs are not going to call a penalty on evey play and the defense knows this. They will try to get away with what they can against him, because if they don't they'll get torched more then they have. Even with all the holding and extracurricular activity against him, he still had over 140 yards receiving.
He gets roughed up with hits that should definitely be called l.
And, of course, players are now going to take more shots
Because they think they can get away with it.
No wonder there is an injury problem in this league.
It disgusted me what happened to him yesterday
he shuts his fucking mouth. After every play he is yelling at the refs.
You realize this is more of an indictment against officials rather than Beckham...
No official should let their personal feelings get in the way of officiated a game....
Brady screams at the refs every play and he still gets calls...what your saying is bs
you may be right, but it does not change the reality. It is to the point where after every incompletion he is throwing his arms up in the air and flipping out.
a plyer complaining should not effect whether a flag needs to be thrown or not...
If an official is not throwing flags becuas ehe is getting yelled at than that official should not be reffing games in the NFL...
You know how many times an official gets cursed at and screamed during games? almost every single play....
and NFL head Linesman used to tell us when he taught our class used to tell us as a joke that if you are married or in a relationship you will make a great official because you are used to being yelled at and can drain it out...
he shuts his fucking mouth. After every play he is yelling at the refs.
First of all, I'll just get this out of the way...you sure are a miserable prick. Every time you post, I cringe.
Now, you also need to watch more football. Do you think Beckham is the only player that complains about being held? Watch Dez after each play. And any other star WR. They ALL do it, but the refs aren't intentionally screwing them, right? Besides, Beckham doesn't complain half as much as some of you claim. When he gets drilled two seconds after the play is over, yes, I think he has a reason to bitch.
Every time he goes deep he is held..

Then that is on the officials...first thing an official is taught do not let personal feelings effect your judgemebt..
Same thing happened to Iverson
Doesn't seem to impact the way the Pats games are called.

Brady bitches his teammates out. It's lame
