He can no longer hide behind our record. His last interview was beyond annoying. Any criticism was simply met with...."look at our record. We're in first place." I don't expect him to man up....but that's 1 less excuse.
But I don't think Reese gives a season ending PC. Isn't it just Mara? And, again maybe I'm wrong, but if he's retained, I think his next availability is at the Scouting Combine in Indy in mid February.
and a big part of that is due to injuries, a lot of them to key players, accept it or not.
Cruz, Beatty, Beason, Hankins, Prince, JPP, Pugh and Richberg have all missed cumulatively significant time and all were counted on to be among the teams best players this year.
It's not an excuse, it's a reality...
IMHO what Reese needs to acknowledge is that changes have to be made in the way the team relies on previously/chronically injured players to depend upon and cut bait quicker to spend the available CAP dollars elsewhere.
Why? What do you think he's gonna say? "The Giants suck, it's my fault, I'm resigning?"
He never actually SAYS anything that we don't already know and haven't heard many times before. He's gonna roll out the same old platitudes he always uses. Among which will be: Were you surprised by <whatever>? "no, I'm not "surprised" <by anything -- ever>". . . pointing out the injuries, then saying they are "no excuse." What are you going to do about fixing the OL? "next man up." Will you try to sign someone? "We're always looking to improve the roster." Might you make a trade? Or run down the field wearing a red dress and high heels? "We don't rule out anything,"
Yeah, hearing from Reese will be a real eye-opener.
