If Washington wins out, Giants lose to Carolina, but win against Jets, Dolphins, Vikings, and Eagles then Washington wins the division, and the Giants are the 6th seed
This would mean the Giants have to win their last game against the Eagles, and if they fail, Seattle would probably get the Giants spot.
If the Giants lose against the Jets, then the percentage drops extremely low. The Giants would have to win out, including beating Carolina to get in.
Not extremely terrible, but pretty bad
Predicting who is going to win games in the NFC East is as tough as naming a song with earplugs in your ears

Really?
Holy hell this stuff is ridiculous. A lot of good worrying about and rooting against Philly and Dallas on Thanksgiving did... win your own games, and let the cards fall as they may.

This....we can't even get out of our way.
If they finish 4-1 and miss the playoffs at 10-6, then you suck it up and move on. That's what happens when you lose control of your own destiny as we did yesterday. But, that being said, they're not going 4-1 down the stretch.

but I don't see how this is true. Seattle, Atlanta, and Minnesota all have winning records...from what I can tell the Giants could miss the playoffs at 10-6.

Sorry. 5-0. That's not happening.
For example, Giants go 4-1, and beat Minn, while Minn goes 1-4, Giants get the tiebreaker......and what are the odds of the Giants going 4-1, never mind Minn going 1-4?
The Giants controlled their own destiny, until yesterday....that loss was a two game swing....now they have to count on others to lose, for them to reach the one and done sweepstakes........

You can't control your own destiny. That's the whole definition of destiny.
#1 seed in the Eastern Regional bracket, folks.
What are your thoughts on 2017? We go to Denver, will Osweiler be up to speed by then? Can Eli finally beat Rivers?
Quote:
Absolutely. We have no chance in 2016. We will lose 6 of our road games for sure (Philly, Dallas, GB, Minnesota, Pittsburgh, and Seattle) leaving us with wins in Cleveland and maybe Washington. We're going to lose to the Bengals at home. That's 7 highly likely losses.

So you're confident this group is going to buck 2 long term disturbing trends next year: win more than 3 games in this division AND beat quality opponents, of which there are in spades in 2016? I only mention 2016 because the ongoing theme this calendar year was to have a team that can win the East/secure a playoff spot in the 2016 season. That's not happening.
NFCE teams winning, Giants 3-2, win division - ( New Window )
Dude, you're so far off. Just stop....you had the Eagles at 7-4 at one point this year. How did that work out? And now you are predicting what 2016 looks like? You already know how other teams will look in the future, and on top of that, when we actually play them.
Give it a rest.

Exactly. Minny isn't going 1-4. They have a solid club, esp on the defensive side of the ball.

And remember, this franchise hasn't been 2 games above .500 at any point in a season since finishing 9-7 in 2012.

Don't like what I'm saying then don't reply. I'm not betting my mortgage that 2016 is going to be a playoff season. The reality is the 2016 schedule is filled with teams that have been and continue to be better than we are. Our record vs those teams is dismal. Sans us crushing the draft and FA, not much is going to change. And we are so talent deficient, even that might not be enough. If you think we are winning any other road game aside from Cleveland and maybe Washington and are doing better in the division than our customary 2/3 wins, then I have some ocean front property to sell you in Utah.

Apparently, you're an oracle.
First you had Philly winning the division easily. Then the last two weeks you had us basically coasting.
Now you're writing off.......2016??
Get a grip.
